1 Then spake Elisha vnto the woman, whose sonne he had restored to life, saying, Vp, and goe, thou, and thine house, and soiourne where thou canst soiourne: for the Lord hath called for a famine, and it commeth also vpon the land seuen yeeres.
1 Eliseu falou àquela mulher cujo filho ele havia restaurado à vida, dizendo: — Levante-se e saia daqui com os membros de sua casa e fique peregrinando onde você puder peregrinar, porque o
2 And the woman arose, and did after the saying of the man of God, and went both shee and her housholde and soiourned in the lande of the Philistims seuen yeeres.
2 A mulher se levantou e fez segundo a palavra do homem de Deus: saiu com os de sua casa e peregrinou durante sete anos na terra dos filisteus.
3 And at the seuen yeeres ende, the woman returned out of the lande of the Philistims, and went out to call vpon the King for her house and for her land.
3 Ao final dos sete anos, a mulher voltou da terra dos filisteus e foi falar com o rei, para reclamar a sua casa e as suas terras.
4 And the King talked with Gehazi the seruant of the man of God, saying, Tell mee, I pray thee, all the great actes, that Elisha hath done.
4 O rei estava falando com Geazi, o servo do homem de Deus, dizendo: — Conte-me todas as grandes obras que Eliseu tem feito.
5 And as he told the King, howe he had restored one dead to life, behold, the woman, whose sonne he had raised to life, called vpon the King for her house and for her land. Then Gehazi sayd, My lorde, O King, this is the woman, and this is her sonne, whom Elisha restored to life.
5 Ele estava contando ao rei como Eliseu havia restaurado à vida um morto, quando a mulher cujo filho ele havia restaurado à vida chegou para reclamar a sua casa e as suas terras. Então Geazi disse: — Ó rei, meu senhor, esta é a mulher, e este é o filho dela, a quem Eliseu restaurou à vida.
6 And when the King asked the woman, shee told him: so the King appoynted her an Eunuch, saying, Restore thou all that are hers, and all the fruites of her landes since the day shee left the land, euen vntill this time.
6 O rei interrogou a mulher, e ela lhe contou tudo. Então o rei colocou um oficial à disposição da mulher e lhe deu a seguinte ordem: — Faça com que lhe seja restituído tudo o que era dela, inclusive todas as rendas do campo desde o dia em que deixou a terra até agora.
7 Then Elisha came to Damascus, and Ben-hadad the King of Aram was sicke, and one told him, saying, The man of God is come hither.
7 Eliseu foi a Damasco. Ben-Hadade, o rei da Síria, estava doente, e lhe anunciaram, dizendo: — O homem de Deus chegou aqui.
8 And the king sayd vnto Hazael, Take a present in thine hande, and goe meete the man of God, that thou mayest inquire of ye Lord by him, saying, Shall I recouer of this disease?
8 Então o rei disse a Hazael: — Pegue um presente e vá encontrar-se com o homem de Deus. Por meio dele, pergunte ao
9 So Hazael went to meete him, and tooke the present in his hand, and of euery good thing of Damascus, euen the burden of fourtie camels, and came and stood before him, and sayde, Thy sonne Ben-hadad King of Aram hath sent me to thee, saying, Shall I recouer of this disease?
9 Assim, Hazael foi encontrar-se com Eliseu, levando consigo um presente, a saber, quarenta camelos carregados de tudo o que era bom de Damasco. Ele chegou, apresentou-se diante dele e disse: — O seu filho Ben-Hadade, rei da Síria, me enviou para perguntar se ele vai sarar da sua doença.
10 And Elisha sayd to him, Goe, and say vnto him, Thou shalt recouer: howbeit the Lord hath shewed me, that he shall surely dye.
10 Eliseu lhe respondeu: — Vá e diga ao rei que ele certamente vai sarar. Porém o
11 And hee looked vpon him stedfastly, till Hazael was ashamed, and the man of God wept.
11 Eliseu olhou para Hazael e tanto lhe fitou os olhos, que este ficou envergonhado. E o homem de Deus chorou.
12 And Hazael sayde, Why weepeth my lord? And he answered, Because I knowe the euill that thou shalt do vnto the children of Israel: for their strong cities shalt thou set on fire, and their yong men shalt thou slay with the sworde, and shalt dash their infantes against the stones, and rent in pieces their women with child.
12 Então Hazael perguntou: — Por que meu senhor está chorando? Ele respondeu: — Porque sei o mal que você vai fazer aos filhos de Israel. Você vai pôr fogo nas suas fortalezas, vai matar à espada os seus jovens, esmagar os seus pequeninos e rasgar o ventre das mulheres grávidas.
13 Then Hazael said, What? is thy seruant a dog, that I should doe this great thing? And Elisha answered, The Lord hath shewed mee, that thou shalt be King of Aram.
13 Hazael perguntou: — Mas o que é este seu servo, este cão, para fazer tão grandes coisas? Eliseu disse: — O
14 So he departed from Elisha, and came to his master, who said to him, What saide Elisha to thee? And he answered, Hee tolde mee that thou shouldest recouer.
14 Então Hazael deixou Eliseu e voltou para junto de seu senhor, o rei, que lhe perguntou: — O que foi que Eliseu disse a você? Hazael respondeu: — Ele me disse que o senhor certamente vai sarar.
15 And on the morow he tooke a thick cloth and dipt in it water, and spread it on his face, and hee dyed: and Hazael reigned in his stead.
15 No dia seguinte, Hazael pegou um cobertor, molhou-o em água e o estendeu sobre o rosto do rei até que morreu; e Hazael reinou em seu lugar.
16 Now in the fift yere of Ioram ye sonne of Ahab King of Israel, and of Iehoshaphat King of Iudah, Iehoram the sonne of Iehoshaphat King of Iudah began to reigne.
16 No quinto ano do reinado de Jorão, filho de Acabe, rei de Israel, quando Josafá ainda reinava em Judá, Jeorão, filho de Josafá, rei de Judá, começou a reinar.
17 He was two and thirtie yere olde, when he began to reigne: and hee reigned eight yeere in Ierusalem.
17 Ele tinha trinta e dois anos de idade quando começou a reinar e reinou oito anos em Jerusalém.
18 And hee walked in the wayes of the Kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab: for the daughter of Ahab was his wife, and hee did euill in the sight of the Lord.
18 Andou nos caminhos dos reis de Israel, como também fizeram os da casa de Acabe, porque era casado com uma filha dele. E Jeorão fez o que era mau aos olhos do Senhor .
19 Yet the Lord would not destroy Iudah, for Dauid his seruants sake, as he had promised him to giue him a light, and to his children for euer.
19 Porém o Senhor não quis destruir Judá por amor a Davi, seu servo, segundo a promessa que lhe havia feito de dar uma lâmpada a ele e aos seus filhos para sempre.
20 In those dayes Edom rebelled from vnder the hand of Iudah, and made a King ouer themselues.
20 Nos dias de Jeorão, os edomitas se revoltaram contra o poder de Judá e constituíram o seu próprio rei.
21 Therefore Ioram went to Zair, and all his charets with him, and he arose by night, and smote the Edomites which were about him with the captains of the charets, and the people fled into their tents.
21 Por isso, Jeorão foi a Zair com todos os seus carros de guerra. Ele se levantou de noite e atacou os edomitas que o cercavam e os capitães dos carros de guerra; mas o povo de Jeorão fugiu para as suas tendas.
22 So Edom rebelled from vnder the hand of Iudah vnto this day. then Libnah rebelled at that same time.
22 Assim, Edom se rebelou para se livrar do poder de Judá até o dia de hoje. Na mesma época a cidade de Libna também se rebelou.
23 Concerning the rest of the actes of Ioram and all that hee did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?
23 Quanto aos demais atos de Jeorão e a tudo o que ele fez, não está tudo escrito no Livro da História dos Reis de Judá?
24 And Ioram slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the citie of Dauid. And Ahaziah his sonne reigned in his stead.
24 Jeorão morreu e foi sepultado nos túmulos de seus pais, na Cidade de Davi. E Acazias, filho de Jeorão, reinou em seu lugar.
25 In the twelft yere of Ioram the sonne of Ahab King of Israel did Ahaziah the sonne of Iehoram King of Iudah begin to reigne.
25 No décimo segundo ano do reinado de Jorão, filho de Acabe, rei de Israel, Acazias, filho de Jeorão, rei de Judá, começou a reinar.
26 Two and twentie yeere olde was Ahaziah when he began to reigne, and he reigned one yere in Ierusalem, and his mothers name was Athaliah the daughter of Omri King of Israel.
26 Acazias tinha vinte e dois anos de idade quando começou a reinar e reinou um ano em Jerusalém. A mãe dele, que era filha de Onri, rei de Israel, se chamava Atalia.
27 And he walked in the way of the house of Ahab, and did euill in the sight of the Lord, like the house of Ahab: for hee was the sonne in law of the house of Ahab.
27 Acazias andou no caminho da casa de Acabe e fez o que era mau aos olhos do Senhor , como os da casa de Acabe, porque era casado com uma filha dele.
28 And he went with Ioram the sonne of Ahab to warre against Hazael King of Aram in Ramoth Gilead, and the Aramites smote Ioram.
28 Acazias foi com Jorão, filho de Acabe, a Ramote-Gileade, para guerrear contra Hazael, rei da Síria; e os sírios feriram Jorão.
29 And King Ioram returned to bee healed in Izreel of the wounds which ye Aramites had giuen him at Ramah, whe he fought against Hazael King of Aram. And Ahaziah the sonne of Iehoram King of Iudah went downe to see Ioram the sonne of Ahab in Izreel, because he was sicke.
29 Então o rei Jorão voltou para Jezreel, para curar-se das feridas que os sírios lhe fizeram em Ramá, quando lutou contra Hazael, rei da Síria. E Acazias, filho de Jeorão, rei de Judá, foi a Jezreel para visitar Jorão, filho de Acabe, que estava doente.
