1 Then spake Elisha vnto the woman, whose sonne he had restored to life, saying, Vp, and goe, thou, and thine house, and soiourne where thou canst soiourne: for the Lord hath called for a famine, and it commeth also vpon the land seuen yeeres.
1 Falou Eliseu àquela mulher cujo filho ele restaurara à vida, dizendo: Levanta-te, vai com os de tua casa e mora onde puderes; porque o Senhor chamou a fome, a qual virá sobre a terra por sete anos.
2 And the woman arose, and did after the saying of the man of God, and went both shee and her housholde and soiourned in the lande of the Philistims seuen yeeres.
2 Levantou-se a mulher e fez segundo a palavra do homem de Deus: saiu com os de sua casa e habitou por sete anos na terra dos filisteus.
3 And at the seuen yeeres ende, the woman returned out of the lande of the Philistims, and went out to call vpon the King for her house and for her land.
3 Ao cabo dos sete anos, a mulher voltou da terra dos filisteus e saiu a clamar ao rei pela sua casa e pelas suas terras.
4 And the King talked with Gehazi the seruant of the man of God, saying, Tell mee, I pray thee, all the great actes, that Elisha hath done.
4 Ora, o rei falava a Geazi, moço do homem de Deus, dizendo: Conta-me, peço-te, todas as grandes obras que Eliseu tem feito.
5 And as he told the King, howe he had restored one dead to life, behold, the woman, whose sonne he had raised to life, called vpon the King for her house and for her land. Then Gehazi sayd, My lorde, O King, this is the woman, and this is her sonne, whom Elisha restored to life.
5 Contava ele ao rei como Eliseu restaurara à vida a um morto, quando a mulher cujo filho ele havia restaurado à vida clamou ao rei pela sua casa e pelas suas terras; então, disse Geazi: Ó rei, meu senhor, esta é a mulher, e este, o seu filho, a quem Eliseu restaurou à vida.
6 And when the King asked the woman, shee told him: so the King appoynted her an Eunuch, saying, Restore thou all that are hers, and all the fruites of her landes since the day shee left the land, euen vntill this time.
6 Interrogou o rei a mulher, e ela lhe contou tudo. Então, o rei lhe deu um oficial, dizendo: Faze restituir-se-lhe tudo quanto era seu e todas as rendas do campo desde o dia em que deixou a terra até agora.
7 Then Elisha came to Damascus, and Ben-hadad the King of Aram was sicke, and one told him, saying, The man of God is come hither.
7 Veio Eliseu a Damasco. Estava doente Ben-Hadade, rei da Síria; e lhe anunciaram, dizendo: O homem de Deus é chegado aqui.
8 And the king sayd vnto Hazael, Take a present in thine hande, and goe meete the man of God, that thou mayest inquire of ye Lord by him, saying, Shall I recouer of this disease?
8 Então, o rei disse a Hazael: Toma presentes contigo, e vai encontrar-te com o homem de Deus, e, por seu intermédio, pergunta ao Senhor , dizendo: Sararei eu desta doença?
9 So Hazael went to meete him, and tooke the present in his hand, and of euery good thing of Damascus, euen the burden of fourtie camels, and came and stood before him, and sayde, Thy sonne Ben-hadad King of Aram hath sent me to thee, saying, Shall I recouer of this disease?
9 Foi, pois, Hazael encontrar-se com ele, levando consigo um presente, a saber, quarenta camelos carregados de tudo que era bom de Damasco; chegou, apresentou-se diante dele e disse: Teu filho Ben-Hadade, rei da Síria, me enviou a perguntar-te: Sararei eu desta doença?
10 And Elisha sayd to him, Goe, and say vnto him, Thou shalt recouer: howbeit the Lord hath shewed me, that he shall surely dye.
10 Eliseu lhe respondeu: Vai e dize-lhe: Certamente, sararás. Porém o Senhor me mostrou que ele morrerá.
11 And hee looked vpon him stedfastly, till Hazael was ashamed, and the man of God wept.
11 Olhou Eliseu para Hazael e tanto lhe fitou os olhos, que este ficou embaraçado; e chorou o homem de Deus.
12 And Hazael sayde, Why weepeth my lord? And he answered, Because I knowe the euill that thou shalt do vnto the children of Israel: for their strong cities shalt thou set on fire, and their yong men shalt thou slay with the sworde, and shalt dash their infantes against the stones, and rent in pieces their women with child.
12 Então, disse Hazael: Por que chora o meu senhor? Ele respondeu: Porque sei o mal que hás de fazer aos filhos de Israel; deitarás fogo às suas fortalezas, matarás à espada os seus jovens, esmagarás os seus pequeninos e rasgarás o ventre de suas mulheres grávidas.
13 Then Hazael said, What? is thy seruant a dog, that I should doe this great thing? And Elisha answered, The Lord hath shewed mee, that thou shalt be King of Aram.
13 Tornou Hazael: Pois que é teu servo, este cão, para fazer tão grandes coisas? Respondeu Eliseu: O Senhor me mostrou que tu hás de ser rei da Síria.
14 So he departed from Elisha, and came to his master, who said to him, What saide Elisha to thee? And he answered, Hee tolde mee that thou shouldest recouer.
14 Então, deixou a Eliseu e veio a seu senhor, o qual lhe perguntou: Que te disse Eliseu? Respondeu ele: Disse-me que certamente sararás.
15 And on the morow he tooke a thick cloth and dipt in it water, and spread it on his face, and hee dyed: and Hazael reigned in his stead.
15 No dia seguinte, Hazael tomou um cobertor, molhou-o em água e o estendeu sobre o rosto do rei até que morreu; e Hazael reinou em seu lugar.
16 Now in the fift yere of Ioram ye sonne of Ahab King of Israel, and of Iehoshaphat King of Iudah, Iehoram the sonne of Iehoshaphat King of Iudah began to reigne.
16 No ano quinto do reinado de Jorão, filho de Acabe, rei de Israel, reinando ainda Josafá em Judá, começou a reinar Jeorão, filho de Josafá, rei de Judá.
17 He was two and thirtie yere olde, when he began to reigne: and hee reigned eight yeere in Ierusalem.
17 Era ele da idade de trinta e dois anos quando começou a reinar e reinou oito anos em Jerusalém.
18 And hee walked in the wayes of the Kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab: for the daughter of Ahab was his wife, and hee did euill in the sight of the Lord.
18 Andou nos caminhos dos reis de Israel, como também fizeram os da casa de Acabe, porque a filha deste era sua mulher; e fez o que era mau perante o Senhor .
19 Yet the Lord would not destroy Iudah, for Dauid his seruants sake, as he had promised him to giue him a light, and to his children for euer.
19 Porém o Senhor não quis destruir a Judá por amor de Davi, seu servo, segundo a promessa que lhe havia feito de lhe dar sempre uma lâmpada e a seus filhos.
20 In those dayes Edom rebelled from vnder the hand of Iudah, and made a King ouer themselues.
20 Nos dias de Jeorão, se revoltaram os edomitas contra o poder de Judá e constituíram o seu próprio rei.
21 Therefore Ioram went to Zair, and all his charets with him, and he arose by night, and smote the Edomites which were about him with the captains of the charets, and the people fled into their tents.
21 Pelo que Jeorão passou a Zair, e todos os carros, com ele; ele se levantou de noite e feriu os edomitas que o cercavam e os capitães dos carros; o povo de Jeorão, porém, fugiu para as suas tendas.
22 So Edom rebelled from vnder the hand of Iudah vnto this day. then Libnah rebelled at that same time.
22 Assim se rebelou Edom para livrar-se do poder de Judá até ao dia de hoje; ao mesmo tempo, se rebelou também Libna.
23 Concerning the rest of the actes of Ioram and all that hee did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?
23 Quanto aos mais atos de Jeorão e a tudo quanto fez, porventura, não estão escritos no Livro da História dos Reis de Judá?
24 And Ioram slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the citie of Dauid. And Ahaziah his sonne reigned in his stead.
24 Descansou Jeorão com seus pais e com eles foi sepultado na Cidade de Davi; e Acazias, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.
25 In the twelft yere of Ioram the sonne of Ahab King of Israel did Ahaziah the sonne of Iehoram King of Iudah begin to reigne.
25 No décimo segundo ano de Jorão, filho de Acabe, rei de Israel, começou a reinar Acazias, filho de Jeorão, rei de Judá.
26 Two and twentie yeere olde was Ahaziah when he began to reigne, and he reigned one yere in Ierusalem, and his mothers name was Athaliah the daughter of Omri King of Israel.
26 Era Acazias de vinte e dois anos de idade quando começou a reinar e reinou um ano em Jerusalém. Sua mãe, filha de Onri, rei de Israel, chamava-se Atalia.
27 And he walked in the way of the house of Ahab, and did euill in the sight of the Lord, like the house of Ahab: for hee was the sonne in law of the house of Ahab.
27 Ele andou no caminho da casa de Acabe e fez o que era mau perante o Senhor , como a casa de Acabe, porque era genro da casa de Acabe.
28 And he went with Ioram the sonne of Ahab to warre against Hazael King of Aram in Ramoth Gilead, and the Aramites smote Ioram.
28 Foi com Jorão, filho de Acabe, a Ramote-Gileade, à peleja contra Hazael, rei da Síria; e os siros feriram Jorão.
29 And King Ioram returned to bee healed in Izreel of the wounds which ye Aramites had giuen him at Ramah, whe he fought against Hazael King of Aram. And Ahaziah the sonne of Iehoram King of Iudah went downe to see Ioram the sonne of Ahab in Izreel, because he was sicke.
29 Então, voltou o rei Jorão para Jezreel, para curar-se das feridas que os siros lhe fizeram em Ramá, quando pelejou contra Hazael, rei da Síria; e desceu Acazias, filho de Jeorão, rei de Judá, para ver a Jorão, filho de Acabe, em Jezreel, porquanto estava doente.
