1 And Dauid went thence, and dwelt in holdes at En-gedi.
1 E sucedeu que, quando Saul havia retornado da perseguição aos filisteus, informaram-lhe, dizendo: Eis que Davi está no deserto de En-Gedi.
2 When Saul was turned from ye Philistims, they told him, saying, Behold, Dauid is in the wildernes of En-gedi.
2 Então Saul separou três mil homens escolhidos de todo o Israel, e foi em busca de Davi e dos seus homens, sobre as rochas dos bodes selvagens.
3 Then Saul tooke three thousande chosen men out of all Israel, and went to seeke Dauid and his men vpon the rocks among the wilde goates.
3 E ele chegou até os apriscos junto ao caminho, onde havia uma caverna; e Saul entrou para cobrir os seus pés; e Davi e os seus homens estavam nas laterais da caverna.
4 And hee came to the sheepecoates by the way where there was a caue, and Saul went in to do his easement: and Dauid and his men sate in the inward parts of the caue.
4 E os homens de Davi lhe disseram: Eis o dia do qual te falou o SENHOR: Eis que entregarei o teu inimigo na tua mão, para que possas fazer com ele como bem te parecer. Então Davi se levantou, e cortou a borda da capa de Saul secretamente.
5 And the men of Dauid said vnto him, See, the day is come, whereof the Lord sayde vnto thee, Beholde, I will deliuer thine enemie into thine hande, and thou shalt doe to him as it shall seeme good to thee. Then Dauid arose and cut off the lap of Sauls garment priuily.
5 E sucedeu, posteriormente, que o coração de Davi o feriu, porque ele havia cortado a roupa de Saul.
6 And afterward Dauid was touched in his heart, because he had cut off the lappe which was on Sauls garment.
6 E ele disse aos seus homens: Livra-me o SENHOR de fazer isto ao meu senhor, ao ungido do SENHOR, de estender a minha mão contra ele, visto ser ele o ungido do SENHOR.
7 And he said vnto his men, The Lord keepe mee from doing that thing vnto my master the Lords Anoynted, to lay mine hand vpon him: for he is the Anoynted of the Lord.
7 Assim, Davi conteve os seus servos com estas palavras e não tolerou que eles se levantassem contra Saul. Porém, Saul subiu da caverna e seguiu o seu caminho.
8 So Dauid ouercame his seruants with these words, and suffered them not to arise against Saul: so Saul rose vp out of the caue and went away.
8 Davi também se levantou, depois disso, e saiu da caverna, e gritou para Saul, dizendo: Meu senhor, o rei. E quando Saul olhou para trás, Davi se inclinou com a sua face em terra, e se curvou.
9 Dauid also arose afterward, and went out of the caue, and cryed after Saul, saying, O my lorde the King. And when Saul looked behinde him, Dauid inclined his face to the earth, and bowed himselfe.
9 E Davi disse a Saul: Por que ouves tu as palavras de homens, dizendo: Eis que Davi procura te ferir?
10 And Dauid saide to Saul, Wherefore giuest thou an eare to mens words, that say, Behold, Dauid seeketh euill against thee?
10 Eis que neste dia os teus olhos viram como o SENHOR te entregou hoje na minha mão na caverna; e alguns me propuseram que te matasse; mas o meu olho te poupou; e eu disse: Não estenderei a minha mão contra o meu senhor; pois ele é o ungido do SENHOR.
11 Behold, this day thine eyes haue seene, that the Lord had deliuered thee this day into mine hand in the caue, and some bade me kill thee, but I had compassion on thee, and said, I will not lay mine hande on my master: for he is the Lordes Anoynted.
11 Além disso, meu pai, vê, sim, vê a borda da tua capa na minha mão; pois ao cortar a borda da tua capa, e não te matar, saiba tu e vê que não há mal, nem transgressão na minha mão, e não tenho pecado contra ti; mesmo assim caças a minha alma para apanhá-la.
12 Moreouer my father, behold: behold, I say, the lappe of thy garment in mine hand: for when I cut off the lappe of thy garment, I killed thee not. Vnderstad and see, that there is neither euil nor wickednesse in mee, neither haue I sinned against thee, yet thou huntest after my soule to take it.
12 Julgue o SENHOR entre mim e ti, e o SENHOR me vingue de ti; mas a minha mão não estará sobre ti.
13 The Lord be iudge betweene thee and me, and the Lord auenge me of thee, and let not mine hand be vpon thee.
13 Como diz o provérbio dos antigos: A impiedade procede do ímpio; mas a minha mão não será sobre ti.
14 According as the olde prouerbe sayeth, Wickednesse proceedeth from the wicked, but mine hand be not vpon thee.
14 Atrás de quem saiu o rei de Israel? Quem tu persegues: um cão morto, uma pulga?
15 After whom is the King of Israel come out? after whome doest thou pursue? after a dead dog, and after a flea?
15 O SENHOR, portanto, seja juiz, e julgue entre mim e ti, e veja, e interceda pela minha causa, e me livre da tua mão.
16 The Lord therfore be iudge, and iudge betweene thee and me, and see, and pleade my cause, and deliuer me out of thine hand.
16 E sucedeu que, quando Davi havia terminado de falar estas palavras a Saul, Saul disse: Esta voz é tua, meu filho Davi? E Saul ergueu a sua voz, e chorou.
17 Whe Dauid had made an end of speaking these words to Saul, Saul sayd, Is this thy voyce, my sonne Dauid? and Saul lift vp his voice, and wept,
17 E ele disse a Davi: Tu és mais justo do que eu; pois me retribuístes com o bem, enquanto eu te retribuí com o mal.
18 And sayd to Dauid, Thou art more righteous then I: for thou hast rendred me good, and I haue rendred thee euill.
18 E neste dia me mostraste como tens agido para comigo; ainda mais que quando o SENHOR havia me entregado na tua mão, tu não me mataste.
19 And thou hast shewed this day, that thou hast dealt well with me: forasmuch as when the Lord had closed me in thine hands, thou killedst me not.
19 Pois, se um homem encontra o seu inimigo, deixa-lo-á escapar? Pelo que, bem te recompense o SENHOR por aquilo que me fizeste neste dia.
20 For who shall finde his enemie, and let him depart free? wherefore the Lord render thee good for that thou hast done vnto me this day.
20 E, agora, eis que bem sei que, certamente, serás rei, e que o reino de Israel será estabelecido na tua mão.
21 For now behold, I know that thou shalt be King, and that the kingdome of Israel shall be stablished in thine hand.
21 Portanto jura-me agora, pelo SENHOR, que não cortarás a minha semente depois de mim, e que não destruirás o meu nome da casa do meu pai.
22 Sweare now therfore vnto me by the Lord, that thou wilt not destroy my seede after me, and that thou wilt not abolish my name out of my fathers house.
22 E Davi jurou a Saul. E Saul foi para casa; mas Davi e os seus homens subiram para a fortificação.
23 So Dauid sware vnto Saul, and Saul went home: but Dauid and his men went vp vnto ye hold.
