1 Then they tolde Dauid, saying, Beholde, the Philistims fight against Keilah, and spoyle the barnes.
1 E foi anunciado a Davi, dizendo: Eis que os filisteus pelejam contra Queila, e saqueiam as eiras.
2 Therfore Dauid asked counsel of the Lord, saying, Shal I goe and smite these Philistims? And the Lord answered Dauid, Go and smite the Philistims, and saue Keilah.
2 E consultou Davi ao Senhor, dizendo: Irei eu, e ferirei a estes filisteus? E disse o Senhor a Davi: Vai, e ferirás aos filisteus, e livrarás a Queila.
3 And Dauids men said vnto him, See, we be afrayde here in Iudah, howe much more if we come to Keilah against the hoste of ye Philistims?
3 Porém os homens de Davi lhe disseram: Eis que tememos aqui em Judá, quanto mais indo a Queila contra os esquadrões dos filisteus.
4 Then Dauid asked counsell of the Lord againe. And the Lord answered him, and sayd, Arise, go downe to Keilah: for I wil deliuer the Philistims into thine hand.
4 Então Davi tornou a consultar ao Senhor, e o Senhor lhe respondeu, e disse: Levanta-te, desce a Queila, porque te dou os filisteus na tua mão.
5 So Dauid and his men went to Keilah, and fought with the Philistims, and brought away their cattel, and smote them with a great slaughter: thus Dauid saued the inhabitants of Keilah.
5 Então Davi partiu com os seus homens a Queila, e pelejou contra os filisteus, e levou os gados, e fez grande estrago entre eles; e Davi livrou os moradores de Queila.
6 (And when Abiathar the sonne of Ahimelech fled to Dauid to Keilah, he brought an Ephod with him)
6 E sucedeu que, quando Abiatar, filho de Aimeleque, fugiu para Davi, a Queila, desceu com o éfode na mão.
7 And it was tolde Saul that Dauid was come to Keilah, and Saul sayd, God hath deliuered him into mine hand: for he is shut in, seeing he is come into a citie that hath gates and barres.
7 E foi anunciado a Saul que Davi tinha ido a Queila, e disse Saul: Deus o entregou nas minhas mãos, pois está encerrado, entrando numa cidade de portas e ferrolhos.
8 Then Saul called all the people together to warre, for to go downe to Keilah, and to besiege Dauid and his men.
8 Então Saul mandou chamar a todo o povo à peleja, para que descessem a Queila, para cercar a Davi e os seus homens.
9 And Dauid hauing knowledge that Saul imagined mischiefe against him, saide to Abiathar the Priest, Bring the Ephod.
9 Sabendo, pois, Davi, que Saul maquinava este mal contra ele, disse a Abiatar, sacerdote: Traze aqui o éfode.
10 Then sayde Dauid, O Lord God of Israel, thy seruat hath heard, that Saul is about to come to Keilah to destroy the citie for my sake.
10 E disse Davi: Ó Senhor, Deus de Israel, teu servo tem ouvido que Saul procura vir a Queila, para destruir a cidade por causa de mim.
11 Wil the lordes of Keilah deliuer me vp into his hand? and will Saul come downe, as thy seruant hath heard? O Lord God of Israel, I beseech thee, tell thy seruant. And the Lord sayde, He will come downe.
11 Entregar-me-ão os cidadãos de Queila na sua mão? Descerá Saul, como o teu servo tem ouvido? Ah! Senhor Deus de Israel! Faze-o saber ao teu servo. E disse o Senhor: Descerá.
12 Then said Dauid, Will the lords of Keilah deliuer me vp, and the men that are with me, into the hand of Saul? And the Lord sayde, They will deliuer thee vp.
12 Disse mais Davi: Entregar-me-ão os cidadãos de Queila, a mim e aos meus homens, nas mãos de Saul? E disse o Senhor: Entregarão.
13 Then Dauid and his men, which were about sixe hundreth, arose, and departed out of Keilah, and went whither they coulde. And it was tolde Saul, that Dauid was fled from Keilah, and he left off his iourney.
13 Então Davi se levantou com os seus homens, uns seiscentos, e saíram de Queila, e foram-se aonde puderam; e sendo anunciado a Saul, que Davi escapara de Queila, cessou de sair contra ele.
14 And Dauid abode in the wildernesse in holdes, and remayned in a mountaine in the wildernes of Ziph. And Saul sought him euery day, but God deliuered him not into his hand.
14 E Davi permaneceu no deserto, nos lugares fortes, e ficou em um monte no deserto de Zife; e Saul o buscava todos os dias, porém Deus não o entregou na sua mão.
15 And Dauid sawe that Saul was come out for to seeke his life: and Dauid was in the wildernes of Ziph in the wood.
15 Vendo, pois, Davi, que Saul saíra à busca da sua vida, permaneceu no deserto de Zife, num bosque.
16 And Ionathan Sauls sonne arose and went to Dauid into the wood, and comforted him in God,
16 Então se levantou Jônatas, filho de Saul, e foi para Davi no bosque, e confortou a sua mão em Deus;
17 And said vnto him, Feare not: for the hand of Saul my father shall not finde thee, and thou shalt be King ouer Israel, and I shalbe next vnto thee: and also Saul my father knoweth it.
17 E disse-lhe: Não temas, que não te achará a mão de Saul, meu pai; porém tu reinarás sobre Israel, e eu serei contigo o segundo; o que também Saul, meu pai, bem sabe.
18 So they twaine made a couenant before ye Lord: and Dauid did remaine in the wood: but Ionathan went to his house.
18 E ambos fizeram aliança perante o Senhor; Davi ficou no bosque, e Jônatas voltou para a sua casa.
19 Then came vp the Ziphims to Saul to Gibeah, saying, Doeth not Dauid hide himselfe by vs in holdes, in the wood in the hill of Hachilah, which is on the right side of Ieshimon?
19 Então subiram os zifeus a Saul, a Gibeá, dizendo: Não se escondeu Davi entre nós, nos lugares fortes no bosque, no outeiro de Haquilá, que está à mão direita de Jesimom?
20 Nowe therefore, O King, come downe according to all that thine heart can desire, and our part shall be to deliuer him into the Kinges handes.
20 Agora, pois, ó rei, apressadamente desce conforme a todo o desejo da tua alma; a nós cumpre entregá-lo nas mãos do rei.
21 Then Saul said, Be ye blessed of the Lord: for ye haue had compassion on mee.
21 Então disse Saul: Bendito sejais vós do Senhor, porque vos compadecestes de mim.
22 Goe, I pray you, and prepare ye yet better: know and see his place where he haunteth, and who hath seene him there: for it is sayd to me, He is subtile, and craftie.
22 Ide, pois, e diligenciai ainda mais, e sabei e notai o lugar que freqüenta, e quem o tenha visto ali; porque me foi dito que é astutíssimo.
23 See therefore and know all the secret places where he hideth himselfe, and come ye againe to me with the certaintie, and I will goe with you: and if he be in the lande, I will searche him out throughout all the thousands of Iudah.
23 Por isso atentai bem, e informai-vos acerca de todos os esconderijos, em que ele se esconde; e então voltai para mim com toda a certeza, e ir-me-ei convosco; e há de ser que, se estiver naquela terra, o buscarei entre todos os milhares de Judá.
24 Then they arose and went to Ziph before Saul, but Dauid and his men were in the wildernesse of Maon, in the playne on the right hande of Ieshimon.
24 Então se levantaram eles e se foram a Zife, adiante de Saul; Davi, porém, e os seus homens estavam no deserto de Maom, na campina, à direita de Jesimom.
25 Saul also and his men went to seeke him, and they told Dauid: wherefore he came downe vnto a rocke, and abode in the wildernesse of Maon. And when Saul heard that, he folowed after Dauid in the wildernes of Maon.
25 E Saul e os seus homens se foram em busca dele; o que anunciaram a Davi, que desceu para aquela penha, e ficou no deserto de Maom; o que ouvindo Saul, seguiu a Davi para o deserto de Maom.
26 And Saul and his men went on the one side of the mountaine, and Dauid and his men on the other side of the mountaine: and Dauid made haste to get from the presence of Saul: for Saul and his men compassed Dauid and his men round about, to take them.
26 E Saul ia deste lado do monte, e Davi e os seus homens do outro lado do monte; e, temeroso, Davi se apressou a escapar de Saul; Saul, porém, e os seus homens cercaram a Davi e aos seus homens, para lançar mão deles.
27 But there came a messenger to Saul, saying, Haste thee, and come: for the Philistims haue inuaded the land.
27 Então veio um mensageiro a Saul, dizendo: Apressa-te, e vem, porque os filisteus com ímpeto entraram na terra.
28 Wherefore Saul returned from pursuing Dauid, and went against the Philistims. Therefore they called that place, Sela-hammahlekoth.
28 Por isso Saul voltou de perseguir a Davi, e foi ao encontro dos filisteus; por esta razão aquele lugar se chamou Rochedo das Divisões.

29 E subiu Davi dali, e ficou nos lugares fortes de En-Gedi.
