1 At that time Abiiah the sonne of Ieroboam fell sicke.
1 Nesse tempo, o filho do rei Jeroboão, que se chamava Abias, ficou doente.
2 And Ieroboam saide vnto his wife, Vp, I pray thee, and disguise thy selfe, that they know not that thou art the wife of Ieroboam, and goe to Shiloh: for there is Ahiiah the Prophet, which tolde mee that I shoulde bee King ouer this people,
2 Jeroboão disse à sua mulher: — Ponha um disfarce para que ninguém possa reconhecer você e vá até Siló, onde mora Aías, o
3 And take with thee tenne loaues and craknels, and a bottell of honie, and go to him: hee shall tell thee what shall become of the yong man.
3 Leve para ele dez pães, alguns bolos e um jarro de mel. Pergunte o que vai acontecer com o nosso filho, que ele lhe dirá.
4 And Ieroboams wife did so, and arose, and went to Shiloh, and came to the house of Ahiiah: but Ahiiah could not see, for his sight was decayed for his age.
4 Então ela foi até a casa de Aías, em Siló. Aías tinha ficado cego por causa da velhice.
5 Then the Lord saide vnto Ahiiah, Beholde, the wife of Ieroboam commeth to aske a thing of thee for her sonne, for he is sicke: thus and thus shalt thou say vnto her: for when shee commeth in, shee shall feine her selfe to be another.
5 Mas Deus lhe disse que a mulher de Jeroboão vinha vindo perguntar sobre o filho dela, que estava doente. E Deus disse a Aías o que devia dizer a ela. A mulher de Jeroboão chegou, fazendo de conta que era outra pessoa.
6 Therefore when Ahiiah heard the sounde of her feete as shee came in at the doore, hee saide, Come in, thou wife of Ieroboam: why feinest thou thus thy selfe to bee an other? I am sent to thee with heauie tidings.
6 Porém, quando ela vinha entrando pela porta, Aías ouviu o barulho dos seus passos e disse: — Entre, mulher de Jeroboão. Por que você está fingindo que é outra pessoa? Eu estou encarregado de lhe dar más notícias.
7 Goe, tel Ieroboam, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Forasmuch as I haue exalted thee from among the people, and haue made thee prince ouer my people Israel,
7 Vá dizer a Jeroboão que o Senhor , o Deus de Israel, manda dizer a ele o seguinte: “Eu escolhi você do meio do povo e o tornei governador do meu povo de Israel.
8 And haue rent the kingdome away from the house of Dauid, and haue giuen it thee, and thou hast not bene as my seruant Dauid, which kept my commandements, and followed mee with all his heart, and did onely that which was right in mine eyes,
8 Eu tomei o reino dos descendentes de Davi e dei a você. Mas você não tem sido como o meu servo Davi, que foi fiel a mim em tudo, que obedeceu aos meus mandamentos e me seguiu com todo o coração, fazendo aquilo que eu aprovo.
9 But hast done euil aboue al that were before thee (for thou hast gone and made thee other gods, and molten images, to prouoke me, and hast cast me behinde thy backe)
9 Você tem pecado muito mais do que todos aqueles que foram reis antes de você. Você me rejeitou e me deixou irado por ter feito ídolos e imagens de metal para adorar.
10 Therefore beholde, I will bring euill vpon the house of Ieroboam, and will cut off from Ieroboam him that pisseth against the wall, aswell him that is shut vp, as him that is left in Israel, and will sweepe away the remnant of the house of Ieroboam, as a man sweepeth away doung, till it be all gone.
10 Por causa disso, eu vou trazer desgraça para a sua família e vou matar todos os seus descendentes do sexo masculino, tanto os jovens como os velhos. Vou varrer a sua família como se varre esterco.
11 The dogges shall eate him of Ieroboams stocke that dyeth in the citie, and the foules of the aire shall eate him that dyeth in the fielde: for the Lord hath said it.
11 As pessoas da sua família que morrerem na cidade serão comidas pelos cachorros e as que morrerem no campo serão comidas pelos urubus. Eu, o Senhor , falei.”
12 Vp therefore and get thee to thine house: for when thy feete enter into the citie, the childe shall die.
12 E Aías ainda disse o seguinte à mulher de Jeroboão: — Agora volte para casa. Assim que você entrar na cidade, o seu filho vai morrer.
13 And al Israel shall mourne for him, and burie him: for he onely of Ieroboam shall come to the graue, because in him there is found some goodnes towarde the Lord God of Israel in the house of Ieroboam.
13 Todo o povo de Israel vai chorar por ele e vai sepultá-lo. O seu filho vai ser a única pessoa da família de Jeroboão que será sepultada porque ele foi o único de quem o Senhor , o Deus de Israel, se agradou.
14 Moreouer, the Lord shall stirre him vp a King ouer Israel, which shall destroy the house of Ieroboam in that day: what? yea, euen nowe.
14 O Senhor vai pôr em Israel um rei que acabará com a família de Jeroboão. E já está acontecendo isso.
15 For the Lord shall smite Israel, as when a reede is shaken in the water, and hee shall weede Israel out of his good lad, which he gaue to their fathers, and shall scatter them beyond the Riuer, because they haue made them groues, prouoking the Lord to anger.
15 O Senhor vai castigar o povo de Israel, que vai tremer de medo como varas verdes. Deus vai arrancar o povo de Israel desta terra boa que ele deu aos seus antepassados e vai espalhá-lo para além do rio Eufrates porque eles o deixaram irado, fazendo postes da deusa Aserá para adorar.
16 And he shall giue Israel vp, because of the sinnes of Ieroboam, who did sinne, and made Israel to sinne.
16 Deus vai abandonar Israel porque Jeroboão pecou e fez com que o povo de Israel pecasse.
17 And Ieroboams wife arose, and departed, and came to Tirzah, and when shee came to the threshold of the house, the yong man dyed,
17 Aí a mulher de Jeroboão saiu e voltou para Tirza. Quando ela pôs os pés em casa, a criança morreu.
18 And they buried him, and all Israel lamented him; according to the word of the Lord, which hee spake by the hand of his seruant Ahiiah the Prophet.
18 E todo o povo de Israel chorou pelo menino e o sepultou, conforme o Senhor Deus tinha dito por meio do seu servo, o profeta Aías.
19 And the rest of Ieroboams actes, how hee warred, and howe hee reigned, beholde, they are written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.
19 Todas as outras coisas que o rei Jeroboão fez, como guerreou e como governou, tudo isso está escrito na História dos Reis de Israel .
20 And the dayes which Ieroboam reigned, were two and twentie yeere: and he slept with his fathers, and Nadab his sonne reigned in his steade.
20 Jeroboão foi rei vinte e dois anos. Ele morreu e foi sepultado, e o seu filho Nadabe ficou no lugar dele como rei.
21 Also Rehoboam the sonne of Salomon reigned in Iudah. Rehoboam was one and fourtie yere olde, when he began to reigne, and reigned seuenteene yere in Ierusalem, the citie which the Lord did chuse out of al the tribes of Israel, to put his Name there: and his mothers name was Naamah an Ammonite.
21 Roboão, filho de Salomão, tinha quarenta e um anos de idade quando se tornou rei de Judá. Ele governou dezessete anos em Jerusalém, a cidade que o Senhor Deus havia escolhido entre todas as cidades da terra de Israel como o lugar onde devia ser adorado. A mãe de Roboão se chamava Naama e era do país de Amom.
22 And Iudah wrought wickednesse in the sight of the Lord: and they prouoked him more with their sinnes, which they had committed, then all that which their fathers had done.
22 O povo de Judá pecou contra o Senhor e deu mais motivos para ele ficar irado do que todos os seus antepassados haviam dado.
23 For they also made them hie places, and images, and groues on euery hie hill, and vnder euery greene tree.
23 Eles construíram altares nos morros para a adoração de falsos deuses e, no alto dos morros e debaixo de árvores que dão sombra, levantaram colunas do deus Baal e postes da deusa Aserá para adorar.
24 There were also Sodomites in the lande, they did according to all the abominations of the nations, which the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel.
24 E havia também homens e mulheres que serviam como prostitutos nesses lugares pagãos de adoração. O povo de Israel fez todas as coisas vergonhosas que faziam os povos que o Senhor Deus havia expulsado da terra, conforme os israelitas iam avançando para dentro do país.
25 And in the fift yere of King Rehoboam, Shishak King of Egypt came vp against Ierusale,
25 No quinto ano do reinado de Roboão, Sisaque, rei do Egito, atacou Jerusalém.
26 And tooke the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the Kings house, and tooke away all: also he caried away all the shields of golde which Salomon had made.
26 Sisaque levou embora todos os tesouros do Templo e do palácio e também os escudos de ouro que Salomão havia feito.
27 And King Rehoboam made for them brasen shieldes, and committed them vnto ye hands of the chiefe of the garde, which wayted at the doore of the Kings house.
27 Para colocar no lugar deles, o rei Roboão fez escudos de bronze e os entregou aos oficiais encarregados de guardar os portões do palácio.
28 And when the King went into the house of the Lord, the garde bare them, and brought them againe into the gard chamber.
28 Sempre que o rei ia ao Templo, os guardas usavam os escudos e depois os levavam de volta para a sala dos guardas.
29 And the rest of the actes of Rehoboam, and all that hee did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?
29 Todas as outras coisas que o rei Roboão fez estão escritas na História dos Reis de Judá .
30 And there was warre betweene Rehoboam and Ieroboam continually.
30 Durante todo esse tempo, Roboão e Jeroboão estiveram em guerra um contra o outro.
31 And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the citie of Dauid: his mothers name was Naamah an Ammonite. And Abiiam his sonne reigned in his stead.
31 Roboão morreu e foi sepultado nos túmulos dos reis, na Cidade de Davi , e o seu filho Abias ficou no lugar dele como rei. (A mãe de Roboão se chamava Naama e era do país de Amom.)
