1 My little children, these things write I vnto you, that ye sinne not: and if any man sinne, wee haue an Aduocate with the Father, Iesus Christ, the Iust.
1 Meus filhinhos, estas coisas vos escrevo para que não pequeis; e, se alguém pecar, temos um Advogado para com o Pai, Jesus Cristo, o Justo.
2 And he is the reconciliation for our sinnes: and not for ours onely, but also for the sinnes of the whole world.
2 E ele é a propiciação pelos nossos pecados e não somente pelos nossos, mas também pelos de todo o mundo.
3 And hereby we are sure that we knowe him, if we keepe his commandements.
3 E nisto sabemos que o conhecemos: se guardarmos os seus mandamentos.
4 Hee that saith, I knowe him, and keepeth not his commandements, is a liar, and the trueth is not in him.
4 Aquele que diz: Eu conheço-o e não guarda os seus mandamentos é mentiroso, e nele não está a verdade.
5 But hee that keepeth his worde, in him is the loue of God perfect in deede: hereby wee knowe that ye are in him.
5 Mas qualquer que guarda a sua palavra, o amor de Deus está nele verdadeiramente aperfeiçoado; nisto conhecemos que estamos nele.
6 He that saith he remaineth in him, ought euen so to walke, as he hath walked.
6 Aquele que diz que está nele também deve andar como ele andou.
7 Brethren, I write no newe commandement vnto you: but an olde commandement, which ye haue had from the beginning: this olde commandement is that worde, which yee haue heard from the beginning.
7 Irmãos, não vos escrevo mandamento novo, mas o mandamento antigo, que desde o princípio tivestes. Este mandamento antigo é a palavra que desde o princípio ouvistes.
8 Againe, a new comandement I write vnto you, that which is true in him, and also in you: for the darkenes is past, and that true light now shineth.
8 Outra vez vos escrevo um mandamento novo, que é verdadeiro nele e em vós; porque vão passando as trevas, e já a verdadeira luz alumia.
9 He that saith that hee is in that light, and hateth his brother, is in darkenes, vntill this time.
9 Aquele que diz que está na luz e aborrece a seu irmão até agora está em trevas.
10 Hee that loueth his brother, abideth in that light, and there is none occasion of euil in him.
10 Aquele que ama a seu irmão está na luz, e nele não há escândalo.
11 But he that hateth his brother, is in darkenesse, and walketh in darkenesse, and knoweth not whither hee goeth, because that darkenesse hath blinded his eyes.
11 Mas aquele que aborrece a seu irmão está em trevas, e anda em trevas, e não sabe para onde deva ir; porque as trevas lhe cegaram os olhos.
12 Litle children, I write vnto you, because your sinnes are forgiuen you for his Names sake.
12 Filhinhos, escrevo-vos porque, pelo seu nome, vos são perdoados os pecados.
13 I write vnto you, fathers, because yee haue knowen him that is from the beginning. I write vnto you, yong men, because ye haue ouercome that wicked one. I write vnto you, litle children, because ye haue knowen ye Father.
13 Pais, escrevo-vos, porque conhecestes aquele que é desde o princípio. Jovens, escrevo-vos, porque vencestes o maligno. Eu vos escrevi, filhos, porque conhecestes o Pai.
14 I haue written vnto you, fathers, because ye haue knowen him, that is from the beginning. I haue written vnto you, yong men, because ye are strong, and the worde of God abideth in you, and ye haue ouercome that wicked one.
14 Eu vos escrevi, pais, porque já conhecestes aquele que é desde o princípio. Eu vos escrevi, jovens, porque sois fortes, e a palavra de Deus está em vós, e já vencestes o maligno.
15 Loue not this world, neither the things that are in this world. If any man loue this world, the loue of the Father is not in him.
15 Não ameis o mundo, nem o que no mundo há. Se alguém ama o mundo, o amor do Pai não está nele.
16 For all that is in this world (as the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life) is not of the Father, but is of this world.
16 Porque tudo o que há no mundo, a concupiscência da carne, a concupiscência dos olhos e a soberba da vida, não é do Pai, mas do mundo.
17 And this world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that fulfilleth the will of God, abideth euer.
17 E o mundo passa, e a sua concupiscência; mas aquele que faz a vontade de Deus permanece para sempre.
18 Litle children, it is the last time, and as ye haue heard that Antichrist shall come, euen now are there many Antichrists: whereby we know that it is the last time.
18 Filhinhos, é já a última hora; e, como ouvistes que vem o anticristo, também agora muitos se têm feito anticristos; por onde conhecemos que é já a última hora.
19 They went out from vs, but they were not of vs: for if they had bene of vs, they should haue continued with vs. But this cometh to passe, that it might appeare, that they are not all of vs.
19 Saíram de nós, mas não eram de nós; porque, se fossem de nós, ficariam conosco; mas isto é para que se manifestasse que não são todos de nós.
20 But ye haue an ointment from that Holy one, and know all things.
20 E vós tendes a unção do Santo e sabeis tudo.
21 I haue not written vnto you, because ye knowe not the trueth: but because ye knowe it, and that no lie is of the trueth.
21 Não vos escrevi porque não soubésseis a verdade, mas porque a sabeis, e porque nenhuma mentira vem da verdade.
22 Who is a liar, but he that denyeth that Iesus is that Christ? the same is that Antichrist that denyeth the Father and the Sonne.
22 Quem é o mentiroso, senão aquele que nega que Jesus é o Cristo? É o anticristo esse mesmo que nega o Pai e o Filho.
23 Whosoeuer denyeth the Sonne, the same hath not the Father.
23 Qualquer que nega o Filho também não tem o Pai; e aquele que confessa o Filho tem também o Pai.
24 Let therefore abide in you that same which ye haue heard from the beginning. If that which ye haue heard from the beginning, shall remaine in you, ye also shall continue in the Sonne, and in the Father.
24 Portanto, o que desde o princípio ouvistes permaneça em vós. Se em vós permanecer o que desde o princípio ouvistes, também permanecereis no Filho e no Pai.
25 And this is the promise that he hath promised vs, euen that eternall life.
25 E esta é a promessa que ele nos fez: a vida eterna.
26 These things haue I written vnto you, concerning them that deceiue you.
26 Estas coisas vos escrevi acerca dos que vos enganam.
27 But that anointing which ye receiued of him, dwelleth in you: and ye neede not that any man teach you: but as the same Anoynting teacheth you of all things, and it is true, and is not lying, and as it taught you, ye shall abide in him.
27 E a unção que vós recebestes dele fica em vós, e não tendes necessidade de que alguém vos ensine; mas, como a sua unção vos ensina todas as coisas, e é verdadeira, e não é mentira, como ela vos ensinou, assim nele permanecereis.
28 And nowe, litle children, abide in him, that when he shall appeare, we may be bolde, and not be ashamed before him at his comming.
28 E agora, filhinhos, permanecei nele, para que, quando ele se manifestar, tenhamos confiança e não sejamos confundidos por ele na sua vinda.
29 If ye know that he is righteous, know ye that he which doeth righteously, is borne of him.
29 Se sabeis que ele é justo, sabeis que todo aquele que pratica a justiça é nascido dele.
