1 Now concerning spirituall giftes, brethren, I would not haue you ignorant.
1 Agora, irmãos, quanto à sua pergunta sobre os dons espirituais, não quero que continuem confusos.
2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles, and were caried away vnto the dumme Idoles, as ye were led.
2 Vocês sabem que, quando ainda eram pagãos, foram conduzidos pelo caminho errado e levados a adorar ídolos mudos.
3 Wherefore, I declare vnto you, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Iesus execrable: also no man can say that Iesus is the Lord, but by the holy Ghost.
3 Por isso, quero que compreendam que ninguém que fala pelo Espírito de Deus amaldiçoa Jesus, e ninguém pode dizer que Jesus é Senhor a não ser pelo Espírito Santo.
4 Now there are diuersities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
4 Existem tipos diferentes de dons espirituais, mas o mesmo Espírito é a fonte de todos eles.
5 And there are diuersities of administrations, but the same Lord,
5 Existem tipos diferentes de serviço, mas o Senhor a quem servimos é o mesmo.
6 And there are diuersities of operations, but God is the same which worketh all in all.
6 Deus trabalha de maneiras diferentes, mas é o mesmo Deus que opera em todos nós.
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is giuen to euery man, to profite withall.
7 A cada um de nós é concedida a manifestação do Espírito para o benefício de todos.
8 For to one is giuen by the Spirit the word of wisdome: and to an other the word of knowledge, by the same Spirit:
8 A um o Espírito dá a capacidade de oferecer conselhos sábios, a outro o mesmo Espírito dá uma mensagem de conhecimento especial.
9 And to another is giuen faith by the same Spirit: and to another the giftes of healing, by the same Spirit:
9 A um o mesmo Espírito dá grande fé, a outro o único Espírito concede o dom de cura.
10 And to another the operations of great workes: and to another, prophecie: and to another, the discerning of spirits: and to another, diuersities of tongues: and to another, the interpretation of tongues.
10 A um ele dá o poder de realizar milagres, a outro, a capacidade de profetizar. A outro ele dá a capacidade de discernir se uma mensagem é do Espírito de Deus ou de outro espírito. A outro, ainda, dá a capacidade de falar em diferentes línguas, enquanto a um outro dá a capacidade de interpretar o que está sendo dito.
11 And all these thinges worketh one and the selfe same Spirit, distributing to euery man seuerally as he will.
11 Tudo isso é distribuído pelo mesmo e único Espírito, que concede o que deseja a cada um.
12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of the body, which is one, though they be many, yet are but one body: euen so is Christ.
12 O corpo humano tem muitas partes, mas elas formam um só corpo. O mesmo acontece com relação a Cristo.
13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we bee Iewes, or Grecians, whether we be bonde, or free, and haue bene all made to drinke into one Spirit.
13 Alguns de nós são judeus, alguns são gentios, alguns são escravos e alguns são livres, mas todos nós fomos batizados em um só corpo pelo único Espírito, e todos recebemos o privilégio de beber do mesmo Espírito.
14 For the body also is not one member, but many.
14 De fato, o corpo não é feito de uma só parte, mas de muitas partes diferentes.
15 If the foote would say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body, is it therefore not of the body?
15 Se o pé diz: “Não sou parte do corpo porque não sou mão”, acaso, por isso, deixa de ser parte do corpo?
16 And if the eare would say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body, is it therefore not of the body?
16 E se a orelha diz: “Não sou parte do corpo porque não sou olho”, será que, por isso, deixa de ser parte do corpo?
17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smellling?
17 Se o corpo todo fosse olho, como vocês ouviriam? E, se o corpo todo fosse orelha, como sentiriam o cheiro de algo?
18 But nowe hath God disposed the members euery one of them in the bodie at his owne pleasure.
18 Mas nosso corpo tem muitas partes, e Deus colocou cada uma delas onde ele quis.
19 For if they were all one member, where were the body?
19 O corpo deixaria de ser corpo se tivesse apenas uma parte.
20 But now are there many members, yet but one body.
20 Assim, há muitas partes, mas um só corpo.
21 And the eye cannot say vnto the hand, I haue no neede of thee: nor the head againe to the feete, I haue no neede of you.
21 O olho não pode dizer à mão: “Não preciso de você”. E a cabeça não pode dizer aos pés: “Não preciso de vocês”.
22 Yea, much rather those members of the body, which seeme to be more feeble, are necessarie.
22 Ao contrário, algumas partes do corpo que parecem mais fracas são as mais necessárias.
23 And vpon those members of the body, which wee thinke most vnhonest, put wee more honestie on: and our vncomely parts haue more comelinesse on.
23 E as partes que consideramos menos honrosas são as que tratamos com mais atenção. Assim, protegemos cuidadosamente as partes que não devem ser vistas,
24 For our comely partes neede it not: but God hath tempered the body together, and hath giuen the more honour to that part which lacked,
24 enquanto as mais honrosas não precisam dessa atenção especial. Deus estruturou o corpo de maneira a conceder mais honra e cuidado às partes que recebem menos atenção.
25 Lest there should be any diuision in the body: but that the members shoulde haue the same care one for another.
25 Isso faz que haja harmonia entre os membros, de modo que todos cuidem uns dos outros.
26 Therefore if one member suffer, all suffer with it: if one member be had in honour, all the members reioyce with it.
26 Se uma parte sofre, todas as outras sofrem com ela, e se uma parte é honrada, todas as outras com ela se alegram.
27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members for your part.
27 Juntos, todos vocês são o corpo de Cristo, e cada um é uma parte dele.
28 And God hath ordained some in the Church: as first Apostles, secondly Prophetes, thirdly teachers, then them that doe miracles: after that, the giftes of healing, helpers, gouernours, diuersitie of tongues.
28 Deus estabeleceu para a igreja: em primeiro lugar, os apóstolos; em segundo, os profetas; em terceiro, os mestres; depois, os que fazem milagres, os que têm o dom de cura, os que ajudam outros, os que têm o dom de liderança, os que falam em diferentes línguas.
29 Are all Apostles? are all Prophetes? are all teachers?
29 Somos todos apóstolos? Somos todos profetas? Somos todos mestres? Todos nós temos o poder de fazer milagres?
30 Are all doers of miracles? haue all the gifts of healing? doe all speake with tongues? doe all interprete?
30 Todos temos o dom de cura? Todos temos a capacidade de falar em diferentes línguas? Todos temos a capacidade de interpretar o que é dito?
31 But desire you the best giftes, and I will yet shewe you a more excellent way.
31 Portanto, desejem intensamente os dons mais úteis. Agora, porém, vou lhes mostrar um estilo de vida que supera os demais.
