1 But speak thou that which becometh sound doctrine,
1 Você, porém, fale o que está de acordo com a sã doutrina.
2 and teach, That the elders be watchful in their minds, and be chaste and pure, and sound in the faith, and in charity, and in patience.
2 Ensine os homens mais velhos a serem sóbrios, dignos de respeito, sensatos, e sadios na fé, no amor e na perseverança.
3 And so also the aged women, that they be in behaviour what becometh the fear of Aloha, and not slanderers, nor enslaved to much wine, and that they teach good things;
3 Semelhantemente, ensine as mulheres mais velhas a serem reverentes na sua maneira de viver, a não serem caluniadoras nem escravizadas a muito vinho, mas a serem capazes de ensinar o que é bom.
4 making those who are young modest, to love their husbands and their children,
4 Assim, poderão orientar as mulheres mais jovens a amarem seus maridos e seus filhos,
5 and to be chaste and holy, well mindful of their houses, and submissive to their husbands, that no man blaspheme the word of Aloha.
5 a serem prudentes e puras, a estarem ocupadas em casa, e a serem bondosas e sujeitas a seus próprios maridos, a fim de que a palavra de Deus não seja difamada.
6 And of those who are young men, likewise, require that they be chaste.
6 Da mesma maneira, encoraje os jovens a serem prudentes.
7 But in every thing show thyself the example in all good works, and in doctrine let there be with thee sound speech which is sincere and incorrupt,
7 Em tudo seja você mesmo um exemplo para eles, fazendo boas obras. Em seu ensino, mostre integridade e seriedade;
8 and which no man will despise, that he who riseth against us may be ashamed when he cannot say any thing hateful against us.
8 use linguagem sadia, contra a qual nada se possa dizer, para que aqueles que se lhe opõem fiquem envergonhados por não terem nada de mal para dizer a nosso respeito.
9 Let servants to their masters be submissive in every thing, and please them, not contradicting,
9 Ensine os escravos a se submeterem em tudo a seus senhores, a procurarem agradá-los, a não serem respondões e
10 nor pilfering; but let them show their good-trustiness in every thing, that they may adorn in every thing the doctrine of Aloha our Saviour.
10 a não roubá-los, mas a mostrarem que são inteiramente dignos de confiança, para que assim tornem atraente, em tudo, o ensino de Deus, nosso Salvador.
11 FOR the all-saving grace of Aloha hath appeared to all men,
11 Porque a graça de Deus se manifestou salvadora a todos os homens.
12 and teacheth us to deny wickedness and the lusts of the world, and to live in this world in purity, and in rectitude, and in the fear of Aloha,
12 Ela nos ensina a renunciar à impiedade e às paixões mundanas e a viver de maneira sensata, justa e piedosa nesta era presente,
13 while expecting the blessed hope and the manifestation of the glory of the great God and our Saviour Jeshu Meshiha;
13 enquanto aguardamos a bendita esperança: a gloriosa manifestação de nosso grande Deus e Salvador, Jesus Cristo.
14 who gave himself for us, to redeem us from all iniquity, and to cleanse unto himself a new people, who are zealous of good works.
14 Ele se entregou por nós a fim de nos remir de toda a maldade e purificar para si mesmo um povo particularmente seu, dedicado à prática de boas obras.
15 These speak, and require, and maintain with all authority, and no man shall despise thee.
15 É isso que você deve ensinar, exortando-os e repreendendo-os com toda a autoridade. Ninguém o despreze.
