1 For every high priest who is from among men, on the behalf of men, standeth over those things which are of Aloha, to offer oblation and sacrifices for sins:
1 Cada Grande Sacerdote é escolhido entre os homens e nomeado para servir a Deus em favor do povo, apresentando a Deus ofertas e sacrifícios pelos pecados.
2 and (is one) who can humble himself, and suffer with those who know not and err, since he also himself with infirmity is clothed.
2 Como ele próprio tem as suas fraquezas, pode ter paciência com os ignorantes e com os que cometem erros.
3 And on this account he is obligated as on the behalf of the people, so (also) for himself, to offer up for his sins.
3 E, porque ele mesmo é fraco, precisa oferecer sacrifícios não somente pelos pecados do povo, mas também pelos seus próprios pecados.
4 Yet no man to himself taketh the honour, but he who is called by Aloha, as of Aharun .
4 Ninguém escolhe para si mesmo a honra de ser Grande Sacerdote. É somente pela vontade de Deus que um homem é chamado para ser Grande Sacerdote, como aconteceu com Arão.
5 Thus also the Meshiha glorified not himself to be a High Priest; but He who said to him, Thou art my Son, I to-day have begotten thee.
5 Assim também Cristo não tomou para si mesmo a honra de ser Grande Sacerdote; foi Deus quem lhe deu essa honra, pois lhe disse: “Você é o meu Filho; hoje eu me tornei o seu Pai.”
6 So, too, in another place he saith, Thou art the Priest for ever, after the likeness of Malki-Zedek.
6 Em outro lugar das Escrituras Sagradas , ele também disse: “Você será sacerdote para sempre, na ordem do sacerdócio de Melquisedeque.”
7 When also with flesh he had been clothed, prayer and supplication, with a powerful cry, and with tears, he offered up unto Him who was able from death to revive him, and was heard.
7 Durante a sua vida aqui na terra, Cristo, em voz alta e com lágrimas, fez orações e súplicas a Deus, que o podia salvar da morte. E as suas orações foram atendidas porque ele era dedicado a Deus.
8 And though he was the Son, yet from the fear and the sufferings which he sustained he learned obedience.
8 Embora fosse o Filho de Deus, ele aprendeu, por meio dos seus sofrimentos, a ser obediente.
9 And so was he perfected, and became unto all them who obey him the Cause of eternal salvation;
9 E, depois de ser aperfeiçoado, ele se tornou a fonte da salvação eterna para todos os que lhe obedecem.
10 and was named by God, The High Priest after the likeness of Malki-Zedek.
10 E Deus o nomeou Grande Sacerdote, na ordem do sacerdócio de Melquisedeque.
11 But concerning this Malki-Zedek himself, we have much discourse to utter, and hard to explain, because ye are infirm in your hearing.
11 Temos muito o que dizer a respeito desse assunto; mas, porque vocês custam a entender as coisas, é difícil explicá-las.
12 For ye ought to be teachers, on account of the time by you in learning; but now ye have need again to be taught those which are the first scriptures of the beginningwords of Aloha; and need have ye for milk, and not for solid food.
12 Depois de tanto tempo, vocês já deviam ser mestres, mas ainda precisam de alguém que lhes ensine as primeiras lições dos ensinamentos de Deus. Em vez de alimento sólido, vocês ainda precisam de leite .
13 But every one whose food is milk is not versed in the doctrine of righteousness, because he is a babe.
13 E quem precisa de leite ainda é criança e não tem nenhuma experiência para saber o que está certo ou errado.
14 But for the perfect is solid food; those, (namely,) who, because exercised, have trained their senses to distinguish the good and the evil.
14 Porém a comida dos adultos é sólida, pois eles pela prática sabem a diferença entre o que é bom e o que é mau.
