1 Let us fear, therefore, lest, while there is a confirmed promise of an entrance into his rest, any one shall be found among you remaining from entering in.
1 Deus nos deixou a promessa de que podemos receber o descanso de que ele falou. Portanto, tenhamos muito cuidado para que Deus não julgue que algum de vocês tenha falhado, deixando assim de receber esse descanso.
2 For we have been evangelized as well as they: but the word which they heard did not profit them, because not contempered with faith in them who heard it.
2 Pois, assim como aquelas pessoas ouviram, também nós ouvimos a boa notícia. Elas ouviram a mensagem, porém ela não lhes fez nenhum bem porque, quando a ouviram, não a receberam com fé.
3 But we enter into the rest, we (being of) those (who) have believed. But as He hath said, So I sware in my wrath, that they should not enter into my rest: for, behold, the works of Aloha from the beginning of the world were.
3 Portanto, nós, os que cremos, recebemos o descanso prometido por Deus, como ele mesmo disse: “Eu fiquei ‘Eles nunca entrarão na onde eu lhes teria dado descanso!’ ” Ele disse isso, embora o seu trabalho já estivesse terminado desde o tempo em que havia criado o mundo.
4 As he said concerning the shabath, God rested on the seventh day from all his works.
4 Pois a respeito do sétimo dia está escrito o seguinte em alguma parte das Escrituras Sagradas : “No sétimo dia Deus descansou de todo o trabalho que ele havia feito.”
5 Yet here again he saith, They shall not enter into my rest.
5 E o mesmo assunto é repetido: “Eles nunca entrarão na Terra Prometida, onde eu lhes teria dado descanso.”
6 Therefore, because there was a place into which every one of them might have entered, and they who had it announced first did not enter in, forasmuch as they would not be persuaded;
6 Aqueles que foram os primeiros a ouvir a boa notícia não tiveram fé e por isso não receberam esse descanso. Portanto, há outros que vão recebê-lo.
7 ---moreover, (as) another day he appointeth, after much time; as above it is written, that David hath said, To-day if his voice ye will hear, harden not your hearts;
7 A prova disso é que Deus marca outro dia, chamado “hoje”. Ele falou disso, muitos anos depois, por meio de Davi, no trecho das Escrituras já citado: “Se hoje vocês ouvirem a voz de Deus, não sejam teimosos.”
8 ---but if Jeshu-bar-Nun had established them in rest, he not have spoken afterwards of another day:
8 Se Josué tivesse dado ao povo esse descanso, Deus não teria falado mais tarde a respeito de outro dia.
9 ---Therefore, yet to enjoy a shabathism is confirmed to the people of Aloha.
9 Assim ainda fica para o povo de Deus um descanso, como o descanso de Deus no sétimo dia.
10 For he who is entered into his rest hath also reposed himself from his works, as Aloha (did) from his.
10 Porque quem receber o descanso que Deus prometeu vai descansar de todos os seus trabalhos, assim como Deus descansou dos trabalhos dele.
11 Let us, therefore, anxiously endeavour to enter into that rest, that we fall not after the manner of those who were not persuaded.
11 Portanto, façamos tudo para receber esse descanso, e assim nenhum de nós deixará de recebê-lo, como aconteceu com aquelas pessoas, por terem se revoltado.
12 For living is the Word of Aloha, and all-acting, and more penetrating than a two-edged sword, and entereth to the separation of the soul and the spirit, and of the joints, and of the marrow, and the bones, and discerneth the reasonings and counsel of the heart.
12 Pois a palavra de Deus é viva e poderosa e corta mais do que qualquer espada afiada dos dois lados. Ela vai até o lugar mais fundo da alma e do espírito, vai até o íntimo das pessoas e julga os desejos e pensamentos do coração delas.
13 Neither is there any creature that is concealed from before him; but every thing (is) naked and manifest before his eyes, to whom they shall give account .
13 Não há nada que se possa esconder de Deus. Em toda a criação, tudo está descoberto e aberto diante dos seus olhos, e é a ele que todos nós teremos de prestar contas.
14 Therefore having such a great High Priest, Jeshu Meshiha, the Son of Aloha, who hath ascended to heaven, let us persevere in the confession of him.
14 Portanto, fiquemos firmes na fé que anunciamos, pois temos um Grande Sacerdote poderoso, Jesus, o Filho de Deus, o qual entrou na própria presença de Deus.
15 For we have not an high priest who cannot suffer along with our infirmity, but (one) who, tempted in every thing as we, (was) separate from sin.
15 O nosso Grande Sacerdote não é como aqueles que não são capazes de compreender as nossas fraquezas. Pelo contrário, temos um Grande Sacerdote que foi tentado do mesmo modo que nós, mas não pecou.
16 Let us therefore approach with confidence to the throne of his grace, that we may receive mercy, and find grace for help in the time of affliction.
16 Por isso tenhamos confiança e cheguemos perto do trono divino, onde está a graça de Deus. Ali receberemos misericórdia e encontraremos graça sempre que precisarmos de ajuda.
