The Peschito Syriac New Testament (ETHERIDGE) vs NVI
1 PAULOS and Timotheus, servants of Jeshu the Meshiha, to all the saints who are in Jeshu Meshiha at Philipos, with the presbyters and deacons.
1 Paulo e Timóteo, servos de Cristo Jesus, a todos os santos em Cristo Jesus que estão em Filipos, juntamente com os bispos e diáconos:
2 Grace be with you and peace from Aloha our Father, and from our Lord Jeshu Meshiha.
2 A vocês, graça e paz da parte de Deus nosso Pai e do Senhor Jesus Cristo.
3 I offer thanks unto Aloha upon the remembrance of you constantly,
3 Agradeço a meu Deus toda vez que me lembro de vocês.
4 in all my prayers on your behalf; and while rejoicing,
4 Em todas as minhas orações em favor de vocês, sempre oro com alegria
5 I pray, for your fellowship which is in the gospel from the first day until now;
5 por causa da cooperação que vocês têm dado ao evangelho, desde o primeiro dia até agora.
6 because I am confident of this, that he who hath begun good workings in you will himself make perfect until the day of our Lord Jeshu Meshiha.
6 Estou convencido de que aquele que começou boa obra em vocês, vai completá-la até o dia de Cristo Jesus.
7 For so it is right for me to think concerning you all, because you are laid up in my heart; and in my bonds, and in the defence of the truth of the gospel, you are partakers with me in grace.
7 É justo que eu assim me sinta a respeito de todos vocês, uma vez que os tenho em meu coração, pois, quer nas correntes que me prendem quer defendendo e confirmando o evangelho, todos vocês participam comigo da graça de Deus.
8 For Aloha is my witness how I love you with the bowels of Jeshu Meshiha.
8 Deus é minha testemunha de como tenho saudade de todos vocês, com a profunda afeição de Cristo Jesus.
9 And this I pray, that your love may still increase and abound in knowledge and in all spiritual understanding;
9 Esta é a minha oração: que o amor de vocês aumente cada vez mais em conhecimento e em toda a percepção,
10 that you may distinguish those things that are proper, and may be pure and without offence in the day of the Meshiha,
10 para discernirem o que é melhor, a fim de serem puros e irrepreensíveis até o dia de Cristo,
11 and filled with the fruits of righteousness which are in Jeshu Meshiha, to the glory and the honour of Aloha.
11 cheios do fruto da justiça, fruto que vem por meio de Jesus Cristo, para glória e louvor de Deus.
12 BUT I wish you to know, my brethren, that my business tendeth the more to the forwarding of the gospel.
12 Quero que saibam, irmãos, que aquilo que me aconteceu tem antes servido para o progresso do evangelho.
13 For so also my bonds are manifest for the Meshiha in the whole palace, and unto all besides.
13 Como resultado, tornou-se evidente a toda a guarda do palácio e a todos os demais que estou na prisão por causa de Cristo.
14 And a multitude of brethren who are in our Lord are strengthened on account of my bonds, and have dared the more fearlessly to speak the word of Aloha.
14 E a maioria dos irmãos, motivados no Senhor pela minha prisão, estão anunciando a palavra com maior determinação e destemor.
15 Some preach from envy and contention, but some from good-will,
15 É verdade que alguns pregam a Cristo por inveja e rivalidade, mas outros o fazem de boa vontade.
16 and in the love of the Meshiha; for they know that for the defence of the gospel I am appointed.
16 Estes o fazem por amor, sabendo que aqui me encontro para a defesa do evangelho.
17 But those who preach the Meshiha from contention do it not sincerely, but think to add affliction to my bonds.
17 Aqueles pregam a Cristo por ambição egoísta, sem sinceridade, pensando que me podem causar sofrimento enquanto estou preso.
18 Yet in this I have rejoiced, and do rejoice, that in every way, if for an occasion, or if in truth, the Meshiha shall be preached.
18 Mas, que importa? O importante é que de qualquer forma, seja por motivos falsos ou verdadeiros, Cristo está sendo pregado, e por isso me alegro. De fato, continuarei a alegrar-me,
19 For I know that these things shall be found unto my life by your prayers, and by the gift of the Spirit of Jeshu Meshiha;
19 pois sei que o que me aconteceu resultará em minha libertação, graças às orações de vocês e ao auxílio do Espírito de Jesus Cristo.
20 even as I hope and expect, that in nothing I shall be confounded, but manifestly, as at all times, so also now, the Meshiha shall be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.
20 Aguardo ansiosamente e espero que em nada serei envergonhado. Pelo contrário, com toda a determinação de sempre, também agora Cristo será engrandecido em meu corpo, quer pela vida quer pela morte;
21 For my life is the Meshiha; and if I die, it is gain to me.
21 porque para mim o viver é Cristo e o morrer é lucro.
22 But if in this life of the flesh there be also fruit to me from my works, I know not what to choose.
22 Caso continue vivendo no corpo, terei fruto do meu trabalho. E já não sei o que escolher!
23 For these two straiten me. I desire to be set free, that I might be with the Meshiha, and this is greatly preferable to me;
23 Estou pressionado dos dois lados: desejo partir e estar com Cristo, o que é muito melhor;
24 but also to remain in my body is the thing which constraineth me on your account.
24 contudo, é mais necessário, por causa de vocês, que eu permaneça no corpo.
25 For I know this confidently, that I am to remain and tarry for your joy and for the increase of your faith:
25 Convencido disso, sei que vou permanecer e continuar com todos vocês, para o seu progresso e alegria na fé,
26 that when I come again to you, your glorying which is in Jeshu Meshiha alone shall abound in me.
26 a fim de que, pela minha presença, outra vez a exultação de vocês em Cristo Jesus transborde por minha causa.
27 As it becometh the gospel of the Meshiha, so have your conversation; that if coming I see you, or absent, I may hear of you, that you stand in one spirit and in one soul, conquering together for the faith of the gospel;
27 Não importa o que aconteça, exerçam a sua cidadania de maneira digna do evangelho de Cristo, para que assim, quer eu vá e os veja, quer apenas ouça a seu respeito em minha ausência, fique eu sabendo que vocês permanecem firmes num só espírito, lutando unânimes pela fé evangélica,
28 in nothing moved by them who stand against us, to the forthshowing of their perdition, and of our salvation,
28 sem de forma alguma deixar-se intimidar por aqueles que se opõem a vocês. Para eles isso é sinal de destruição, mas para vocês de salvação, e isso da parte de Deus;
29 And this from Aloha hath been given to you, not only believing to believe in the Meshiha, but also for his sake to suffer,
29 pois a vocês foi dado o privilégio de, não apenas crer em Cristo, mas também de sofrer por ele,
30 and to sustain a conflict, as you have seen in me, and now hear concerning me.
30 já que estão passando pelo mesmo combate que me viram enfrentar e agora ouvem que ainda enfrento.
