1 SHEMUN PETROS, a servant of Jeshu Meshiha, to those who by faith the same in preciousness with us have been made equal, through the righteousness of our Lord and our Redeemer Jeshu Meshiha.
1 Simão Pedro, servo e apóstolo de Jesus Cristo, aos que conosco obtiveram fé igualmente preciosa na justiça do nosso Deus e Salvador Jesus Cristo,
2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you through the knowledge of our Lord Jeshu Meshiha.
2 graça e paz vos sejam multiplicadas, no pleno conhecimento de Deus e de Jesus, nosso Senhor.
3 As He who all (things) which of the divine power are unto life and godliness hath given (us), through the knowledge of Him who hath called us unto the glory of him and of virtue,
3 Visto como, pelo seu divino poder, nos têm sido doadas todas as coisas que conduzem à vida e à piedade, pelo conhecimento completo daquele que nos chamou para a sua própria glória e virtude,
4 by annunciations great and precious which he hath given to you, that by them you may be partakers of the divine nature, while you escape the corruption of the lusts which are in the world;
4 pelas quais nos têm sido doadas as suas preciosas e mui grandes promessas, para que por elas vos torneis coparticipantes da natureza divina, livrando-vos da corrupção das paixões que há no mundo,
5 So, with this, bringing in all diligence, add to your faith virtue; but to virtue knowledge,
5 por isso mesmo, vós, reunindo toda a vossa diligência, associai com a vossa fé a virtude; com a virtude, o conhecimento;
6 but to knowledge perseverance, but to perseverance patience, but to patience godliness,
6 com o conhecimento, o domínio próprio; com o domínio próprio, a perseverança; com a perseverança, a piedade;
7 but to godliness brotherly kindness, but to brotherly kindness love.
7 com a piedade, a fraternidade; com a fraternidade, o amor.
8 For while these are found with you, and abound, neither slothfulness nor unfruitfulness will stand against you in the knowledge of our Lord Jeshu Meshiha.
8 Porque estas coisas, existindo em vós e em vós aumentando, fazem com que não sejais nem inativos, nem infrutuosos no pleno conhecimento de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo.
9 For he with whom these are not found is blind, and seeth not, and hath forgotten the purification of his former sins.
9 Pois aquele a quem estas coisas não estão presentes é cego, vendo só o que está perto, esquecido da purificação dos seus pecados de outrora.
10 Upon this the more, my brethren, be careful, that by your good works your calling and your election you may confirm; for, while you do these, you will never lapse;
10 Por isso, irmãos, procurai, com diligência cada vez maior, confirmar a vossa vocação e eleição; porquanto, procedendo assim, não tropeçareis em tempo algum.
11 for so abundantly shall be given to you the entrance of the eternal kingdom of our Lord and our Saviour Jeshu Meshiha.
11 Pois desta maneira é que vos será amplamente suprida a entrada no reino eterno de nosso Senhor e Salvador Jesus Cristo.
12 Wherefore it doth not weary me to remind you constantly of these, that you may know well, and be established upon this truth.
12 Por esta razão, sempre estarei pronto para trazer-vos lembrados acerca destas coisas, embora estejais certos da verdade já presente convosco e nela confirmados.
13 But I consider it right, so long as I am in this body, to stir you up in remembrance:
13 Também considero justo, enquanto estou neste tabernáculo, despertar-vos com essas lembranças,
14 knowing that the decease of my body is shortly (to be,) as also our Lord Jeshu Meshiha hath made me know.
14 certo de que estou prestes a deixar o meu tabernáculo, como efetivamente nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo me revelou.
15 But be careful also that (these) you may continually have; that also after my going forth the memorial of them you may observe.
15 Mas, de minha parte, esforçar-me-ei, diligentemente, por fazer que, a todo tempo, mesmo depois da minha partida, conserveis lembrança de tudo.
16 For it is not after fables which are made with art that we have gone, in making known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jeshu Meshiha, but as we were spectators of his majesty.
16 Porque não vos demos a conhecer o poder e a vinda de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo seguindo fábulas engenhosamente inventadas, mas nós mesmos fomos testemunhas oculares da sua majestade,
17 For when he received from Aloha the Father honour and glory, while a voice came to him as this, after the glorious beauty of his majesty, This is my Son, the Beloved, in whom I have delighted;
17 pois ele recebeu, da parte de Deus Pai, honra e glória, quando pela Glória Excelsa lhe foi enviada a seguinte voz: Este é o meu Filho amado, em quem me comprazo.
18 we also this voice heard from heaven, as it came to him when we were with him in the holy mount.
18 Ora, esta voz, vinda do céu, nós a ouvimos quando estávamos com ele no monte santo.
19 We have that which is sure also, the word of prophecy; that into which you do well to look, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the sun arise in your hearts.
19 Temos, assim, tanto mais confirmada a palavra profética, e fazeis bem em atendê-la, como a uma candeia que brilha em lugar tenebroso, até que o dia clareie e a estrela da alva nasça em vosso coração,
20 While this first you know, that every prophecy of the scripture its own solution is not.
20 sabendo, primeiramente, isto: que nenhuma profecia da Escritura provém de particular elucidação;
21 For not by the will of man came any prophecy, but while by the Holy Spirit led spake the holy men of God.
21 porque nunca jamais qualquer profecia foi dada por vontade humana; entretanto, homens [santos] falaram da parte de Deus, movidos pelo Espírito Santo.
