1 THE presbyter to the elect Kuria and to her sons, whom I love in truth, nor I only, but all they who know the truth,
1 O presbítero à senhora eleita e aos seus filhos, a quem eu amo na verdade e não somente eu, mas também todos os que conhecem a verdade,
2 on account of the truth which abideth in us, and is with us for ever;
2 por causa da verdade que permanece em nós e conosco estará para sempre,
3 Grace be with you and mercy and peace, from Aloha the Father, and from Jeshu Meshiha the Son of the Father, in truth and in love.
3 a graça, a misericórdia e a paz, da parte de Deus Pai e de Jesus Cristo, o Filho do Pai, serão conosco em verdade e amor.
4 I have rejoiced much to have found of thy sons who walk in the truth, after the commandment we have received from the Father.
4 Fiquei sobremodo alegre em ter encontrado dentre os teus filhos os que andam na verdade, de acordo com o mandamento que recebemos da parte do Pai.
5 And now I entreat thee, Kuria,-no new commandment writing to thee, but that which we have had from the beginning,-that we love one another.
5 E agora, senhora, peço-te, não como se escrevesse mandamento novo, senão o que tivemos desde o princípio: que nos amemos uns aos outros.
6 And this is love, that we walk according to the commandment; this commandment is according to that which you have heard from the beginning, that in it we should walk.
6 E o amor é este: que andemos segundo os seus mandamentos. Este mandamento, como ouvistes desde o princípio, é que andeis nesse amor.
7 Because many deceivers are come out into the world who confess not that Jeshu Meshiha came in the flesh. This is the deceiver and antichrist.
7 Porque muitos enganadores têm saído pelo mundo fora, os quais não confessam Jesus Cristo vindo em carne; assim é o enganador e o anticristo.
8 Be watchful of yourselves, that not any thing perish which you have wrought; but (that with) a complete reward you may be recompensed.
8 Acautelai-vos, para não perderdes aquilo que temos realizado com esforço, mas para receberdes completo galardão.
9 Every one who transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of the Meshiha, hath not Aloha. He who abideth in his doctrine, this hath both the Father and the Son.
9 Todo aquele que ultrapassa a doutrina de Cristo e nela não permanece não tem Deus; o que permanece na doutrina, esse tem tanto o Pai como o Filho.
10 If any one come to you, and this doctrine bring not, receive him not into the house, and "Joy to you," and " Farewell," say not to him.
10 Se alguém vem ter convosco e não traz esta doutrina, não o recebais em casa, nem lhe deis as boas-vindas.
11 For he who saith to him, " Farewell," becometh a participator of his evil deeds.
11 Porquanto aquele que lhe dá boas-vindas faz-se cúmplice das suas obras más.
12 Though I have many things to write to you, I will not with parchment and ink; but I hope to come to you, and mouth with mouth to speak, that our joy may be complete.
12 Ainda tinha muitas coisas que vos escrever; não quis fazê-lo com papel e tinta, pois espero ir ter convosco, e conversaremos de viva voz, para que a nossa alegria seja completa.
13 The sons of thy elect sister ask your peace. Grace be with you. Amen.
13 Os filhos da tua irmã eleita te saúdam.
