1 If then the Meshiha hath suffered for you in the flesh, be you also armed in it with the same mind; for every one who dieth in his body hath ceased from all sins,
1 Por isso, assim como Cristo sofreu no corpo, vocês também devem estar prontos, como ele estava, para sofrer. Porque aquele que sofre no corpo deixa de ser dominado pelo pecado.
2 that henceforth to the lusts of men he should not live, what time he is in the body, but to the will of Aloha.
2 Então, de agora em diante, vivam o resto da sua vida aqui na terra de acordo com a vontade de Deus e não se deixem dominar pelas paixões humanas.
3 For the time which hath passed sufficeth to have served the will of the Gentiles in indulgence, in drunkenness, in vileness, in revellings, and in the service of demons.
3 No passado vocês já gastaram bastante tempo fazendo o que os pagãos gostam de fazer. Naquele tempo vocês viviam na imoralidade, nos desejos carnais, nas bebedeiras, nas orgias, na embriaguez e na nojenta adoração de ídolos.
4 And, behold, now they wonder and blaspheme at you because you riot not with them in that former indulgence;
4 E agora os pagãos ficam admirados quando vocês não se juntam com eles nessa vida louca e imoral e por isso os insultam.
5 they who shall give account to Aloha, who will judge the dead and the living.
5 Porém eles vão ter de prestar contas a Deus, que está pronto para julgar os vivos e os mortos.
6 For on this account the dead also have been evangelized; that they might be judged as men in the flesh, and live with Aloha in the Spirit.
6 Pois o evangelho foi anunciado também aos mortos, os quais morreram por causa do julgamento de Deus, como morrem todos os seres humanos. O evangelho foi anunciado a eles a fim de que pudessem viver a vida espiritual como Deus quer que eles vivam.
7 BUT the end of all cometh; therefore be sober, and watch unto prayer.
7 O fim de todas as coisas está perto. Sejam prudentes e estejam alertas para poder orar.
8 And before every thing have ardent love for one another; for love covereth a multitude of sins.
8 Acima de tudo, amem sinceramente uns aos outros, pois o amor perdoa muitos pecados.
9 And be lovers of guests without murmuring.
9 Hospedem uns aos outros, sem reclamar.
10 And every man of you the gift which he hath received from Aloha, let him minister thereof unto his neighbours as good stewards of the various grace of Aloha.
10 Sejam bons administradores dos diferentes dons que receberam de Deus. Que cada um use o seu próprio dom para o bem dos outros!
11 Whoever shall speak, as the word of Aloha let him speak and whoever ministereth, (he shall minister) as from the power which Aloha giveth to him, that in every thing which you do Aloha may be glorified through Jeshu Meshiha, whose are the glory and honour to the age of ages. Amen.
11 Quem prega pregue a palavra de Deus; quem serve sirva com a força que Deus dá. Façam assim para que em tudo Deus seja louvado por meio de Jesus Cristo, a quem pertencem a glória e o poder para todo o sempre! Amém !
12 My beloved, be not amazed at the temptations which you have, as that something strange happeneth to you, because for your probation they have been;
12 Meus queridos amigos, não fiquem admirados com a dura prova de aflição pela qual vocês estão passando, como se alguma coisa fora do comum estivesse acontecendo a vocês.
13 but rejoice that you are partakers of the sufferings of the Meshiha, that so also at the revelation of his glory you may rejoice and exult.
13 Pelo contrário, alegrem-se por estarem tomando parte nos sofrimentos de Cristo, para que fiquem cheios de alegria quando a glória dele for revelada.
14 And if you be reviled for the sake of the name of the Meshiha, you are happy; for the Spirit of the glory of Aloha resteth upon you.
14 Vocês serão felizes se forem insultados por serem seguidores de Cristo, porque isso quer dizer que o glorioso Espírito de Deus veio sobre vocês.
15 Only, let no man of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as a doer of evils.
15 Se algum de vocês tiver de sofrer, que não seja por ser assassino, ladrão, criminoso ou por se meter na vida dos outros.
16 But if he suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify Aloha in that very name.
16 Mas, se alguém sofrer por ser cristão, não fique envergonhado, mas agradeça a Deus o fato de ser chamado por esse nome.
17 For the time is, that judgment shall begin from the house of Aloha. But if from us it begin, what is the end (to be) of them who obey not the gospel of Aloha?
17 Pois o tempo de começar o julgamento já chegou, e os que pertencem ao povo de Deus serão os primeiros a serem julgados. Se esse julgamento vai começar conosco, qual será o fim daqueles que não creem no evangelho de Deus?
18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, the wicked and the sinner where shall he be found?
18 Como dizem as Escrituras Sagradas : “Se é difícil os bons serem salvos, o que será daqueles pecadores que não querem saber de Deus?”
19 Wherefore, let them who suffer according to the will of Aloha commend to him their souls in good works, as unto the Faithful Creator.
19 Por isso os que sofrem porque esta é a vontade de Deus para eles devem, por meio das suas boas ações, entregar-se completamente aos cuidados do Criador, que sempre cumpre as suas promessas.
