1 If then the Meshiha hath suffered for you in the flesh, be you also armed in it with the same mind; for every one who dieth in his body hath ceased from all sins,
1 Ora, pois, já que Cristo padeceu por nós na carne, armai-vos também vós com este mesmo pensamento, que aquele que padeceu na carne já cessou do pecado;
2 that henceforth to the lusts of men he should not live, what time he is in the body, but to the will of Aloha.
2 Para que, no tempo que vos resta na carne, não vivais mais segundo as concupiscências dos homens, mas segundo a vontade de Deus.
3 For the time which hath passed sufficeth to have served the will of the Gentiles in indulgence, in drunkenness, in vileness, in revellings, and in the service of demons.
3 Porque é bastante que no tempo passado da vida fizéssemos a vontade dos gentios, andando em dissoluções, concupiscências, borrachices, glutonarias, bebedices e abomináveis idolatrias;
4 And, behold, now they wonder and blaspheme at you because you riot not with them in that former indulgence;
4 E acham estranho não correrdes com eles no mesmo desenfreamento de dissolução, blasfemando de vós.
5 they who shall give account to Aloha, who will judge the dead and the living.
5 Os quais hão de dar conta ao que está preparado para julgar os vivos e os mortos.
6 For on this account the dead also have been evangelized; that they might be judged as men in the flesh, and live with Aloha in the Spirit.
6 Porque por isto foi pregado o evangelho também aos mortos, para que, na verdade, fossem julgados segundo os homens na carne, mas vivessem segundo Deus em espírito;
7 BUT the end of all cometh; therefore be sober, and watch unto prayer.
7 E já está próximo o fim de todas as coisas; portanto sede sóbrios e vigiai em oração.
8 And before every thing have ardent love for one another; for love covereth a multitude of sins.
8 Mas, sobretudo, tende ardente amor uns para com os outros; porque o amor cobrirá a multidão de pecados.
9 And be lovers of guests without murmuring.
9 Sendo hospitaleiros uns para com os outros, sem murmurações,
10 And every man of you the gift which he hath received from Aloha, let him minister thereof unto his neighbours as good stewards of the various grace of Aloha.
10 Cada um administre aos outros o dom como o recebeu, como bons despenseiros da multiforme graça de Deus.
11 Whoever shall speak, as the word of Aloha let him speak and whoever ministereth, (he shall minister) as from the power which Aloha giveth to him, that in every thing which you do Aloha may be glorified through Jeshu Meshiha, whose are the glory and honour to the age of ages. Amen.
11 Se alguém falar, fale segundo as palavras de Deus; se alguém administrar, administre segundo o poder que Deus dá; para que em tudo Deus seja glorificado por Jesus Cristo, a quem pertence a glória e poder para todo o sempre. Amém.
12 My beloved, be not amazed at the temptations which you have, as that something strange happeneth to you, because for your probation they have been;
12 Amados, não estranheis a ardente prova que vem sobre vós para vos tentar, como se coisa estranha vos acontecesse;
13 but rejoice that you are partakers of the sufferings of the Meshiha, that so also at the revelation of his glory you may rejoice and exult.
13 Mas alegrai-vos no fato de serdes participantes das aflições de Cristo, para que também na revelação da sua glória vos regozijeis e alegreis.
14 And if you be reviled for the sake of the name of the Meshiha, you are happy; for the Spirit of the glory of Aloha resteth upon you.
14 Se pelo nome de Cristo sois vituperados, bem-aventurados sois, porque sobre vós repousa o Espírito da glória e de Deus; quanto a eles, é ele, sim, blasfemado, mas quanto a vós, é glorificado.
15 Only, let no man of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as a doer of evils.
15 Que nenhum de vós padeça como homicida, ou ladrão, ou malfeitor, ou como o que se entremete em negócios alheios;
16 But if he suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify Aloha in that very name.
16 Mas, se padece como cristão, não se envergonhe, antes glorifique a Deus nesta parte.
17 For the time is, that judgment shall begin from the house of Aloha. But if from us it begin, what is the end (to be) of them who obey not the gospel of Aloha?
17 Porque já é tempo que comece o julgamento pela casa de Deus; e, se primeiro começa por nós, qual será o fim daqueles que são desobedientes ao evangelho de Deus?
18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, the wicked and the sinner where shall he be found?
18 E, se o justo apenas se salva, onde aparecerá o ímpio e o pecador?
19 Wherefore, let them who suffer according to the will of Aloha commend to him their souls in good works, as unto the Faithful Creator.
19 Portanto também os que padecem segundo a vontade de Deus encomendem-lhe as suas almas, como ao fiel Criador, fazendo o bem.
