1 My sons, these write I to you, that you sin not. And if a man shall sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jeshu Meshiha, the Just;
1 Meus filhinhos, escrevo-lhes estas coisas para que vocês não pequem. Se, porém, alguém pecar, temos um intercessor junto ao Pai, Jesus Cristo, o Justo.
2 for he is the propitiation for our sins, and not on behalf of ours only, but also on behalf of the whole world.
2 Ele é a propiciação pelos nossos pecados, e não somente pelos nossos, mas também pelos pecados de todo o mundo.
3 And by this we feel that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
3 Sabemos que o conhecemos, se obedecemos aos seus mandamentos.
4 For he who saith that he knoweth him, and his commandments keepeth not, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
4 Aquele que diz: "Eu o conheço", mas não obedece aos seus mandamentos, é mentiroso, e a verdade não está nele.
5 But he who keepeth his word, in him is perfected truly the love of Aloha; for by this we know that we are in him.
5 Mas, se alguém obedece à sua palavra, nele verdadeiramente o amor de Deus está aperfeiçoado. Desta forma sabemos que estamos nele:
6 He who saith, I am in him, ought according to his walkings to walk.
6 aquele que afirma que permanece nele, deve andar como ele andou.
7 MY beloved, a new commandment I write not to you, but the old commandment, that which was with you from the beginning; but the old commandment is the word which you have heard.
7 Amados, não lhes escrevo um mandamento novo, mas um mandamento antigo, que vocês têm desde o princípio: a mensagem que ouviram.
8 Again, a new commandment I write to you, that which is true in him and in you; because the darkness hath passed, and the true light beginneth to appear.
8 No entanto, eu lhes escrevo um mandamento novo, o qual é verdadeiro nele e em vocês, pois as trevas estão se dissipando e já brilha a verdadeira luz.
9 Whoever saith, then, that he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness until now.
9 Quem afirma estar na luz mas odeia seu irmão, continua nas trevas.
10 He who loveth his brother, in the light abideth, and offence is not in him.
10 Quem ama seu irmão permanece na luz, e nele não há causa de tropeço.
11 He who hateth his brother is in darkness, and in the darkness walketh, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because the darkness itself hath blinded his eyes.
11 Mas quem odeia seu irmão está nas trevas e anda nas trevas; não sabe para onde vai, porque as trevas o cegaram.
12 I write to you, sons, because forgiven to you are your sins for the sake of his name.
12 Filhinhos, eu lhes escrevo porque os seus pecados foram perdoados, graças ao nome de Jesus.
13 I write to you, fathers, because you have known him who hath been from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you have overcome the wicked. I have written to you, children, because you have known the Father.
13 Pais, eu lhes escrevo porque vocês conhecem aquele que é desde o princípio. Jovens, eu lhes escrevo porque venceram o Maligno.
14 I have written to you, fathers, because you have known Him who (hath been) from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of Aloha remaineth in you, and you have overcome the wicked.
14 Filhinhos, eu lhes escrevi porque vocês conhecem o Pai. Pais, eu lhes escrevi porque vocês conhecem aquele que é desde o princípio. Jovens, eu lhes escrevi, porque vocês são fortes, e em vocês a Palavra de Deus permanece e vocês venceram o Maligno.
15 Love not the world, nor any thing which is in it; for whoever loveth the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
15 Não amem o mundo nem o que nele há. Se alguém amar o mundo, o amor do Pai não está nele.
16 For every thing that is in the world, is the lust of the body, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of the world. These which are not of the Father, but they are from the world itself.
16 Pois tudo o que há no mundo — a cobiça da carne, a cobiça dos olhos e a ostentação dos bens — não provém do Pai, mas do mundo.
17 And the world passeth, (both) it and its lusts; but he who doeth the will of Aloha, continueth for ever.
17 O mundo e a sua cobiça passam, mas aquele que faz a vontade de Deus permanece para sempre.
18 my sons, it is the last time: and as you have heard, the false meshiha cometh; and now there are many false meshihas, and from this we know that it is the last time.
18 Filhinhos, esta é a última hora; e, assim como vocês ouviram que o anticristo está vindo, já agora muitos anticristos têm surgido. Por isso sabemos que esta é a última hora.
19 From us they went forth, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, with us would they have remained. But they went forth from us, that it might be known that they were not of us.
19 Eles saíram do nosso meio, mas na realidade não eram dos nossos, pois, se fossem dos nossos, teriam permanecido conosco; o fato de terem saído mostra que nenhum deles era dos nossos.
20 And you have an anointing from the Holy, and you discern every man.
20 Mas vocês têm uma unção que procede do Santo, e todos vocês têm conhecimento.
21 I have not written to you because you know not the truth, but you know it, and that no lie is of it, of the truth.
21 Não lhes escrevo porque não conhecem a verdade, mas porque vocês a conhecem e porque nenhuma mentira procede da verdade.
22 Who is a liar, if not he who denieth that Jeshu is the Meshiha? and this (one) is a false meshiha. He who denieth the Father, denieth also the Son;
22 Quem é o mentiroso, senão aquele que nega que Jesus é o Cristo? Este é o anticristo: aquele que nega o Pai e o Filho.
23 and he who denieth the Son, disbelieveth also the Father. Whoso confesseth the Son, the Father also confesseth.
23 Todo o que nega o Filho também não tem o Pai; quem confessa publicamente o Filho tem também o Pai.
24 And you, what you have heard from the first, let it continue with you. For, if what you have heard from the first continue with you, you also will continue in the Father and in the Son.
24 Quanto a vocês, cuidem para que aquilo que ouviram desde o princípio permaneça em vocês. Se o que ouviram desde o princípio permanecer em vocês, vocês também permanecerão no Filho e no Pai.
25 And this is the promise which he promised to us, eternal life.
25 E esta é a promessa que ele nos fez: a vida eterna.
26 But these I have written to you, because of those who would seduce you.
26 Escrevo-lhes estas coisas a respeito daqueles que os querem enganar.
27 And you, also, if the anointing continue with you which you have received from him, have not need that a man should teach you; but as the anointing that is from Aloha itself teacheth you concerning every thing, and is true, neither is falsity in it; and as it hath taught you, continue in it.
27 Quanto a vocês, a unção que receberam dele permanece em vocês, e não precisam que alguém os ensine; mas, como a unção dele recebida, que é verdadeira e não falsa, os ensina acerca de todas as coisas, permaneçam nele como ele os ensinou.
28 And now, my sons, continue in him: that when he is manifested we may not he confounded of him, but we may have confidence at his coming.
28 Filhinhos, agora permaneçam nele para que, quando ele se manifestar, tenhamos confiança e não sejamos envergonhados diante dele na sua vinda.
29 If you know that he is righteous, know also that every one who doeth righteousness is of him.
29 Se vocês sabem que ele é justo, saibam também que todo aquele que pratica a justiça é nascido dele.
