5 But|strong="G1161" they|strong="G2532" kept|strong="G2992" insisting|strong="G2001", “He|strong="G2532" stirs up|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" people|strong="G2992", teaching|strong="G1321" throughout|strong="G2596" all|strong="G3650" Judea|strong="G2449". He|strong="G2532" started in|strong="G2596" Galilee|strong="G1056" and|strong="G2532" has|strong="G3748" come|strong="G2532" all|strong="G3650" the|strong="G2532" way|strong="G2596" here|strong="G5602".”

11 Herod|strong="G2264" also|strong="G2532" treated|strong="G1848" him|strong="G3588" with|strong="G4862" contempt|strong="G1848" and|strong="G2532" mocked|strong="G1702" him|strong="G3588", as|strong="G1161" did|strong="G2532" his|strong="G2532" soldiers|strong="G4753". Then|strong="G2532", after|strong="G1161" dressing|strong="G4016" Jesus|strong="G2532" in|strong="G2532" fine|strong="G2986" clothing|strong="G2066", Herod|strong="G2264" sent|strong="G2532" him|strong="G3588" back to|strong="G2532" Pilate|strong="G4091".
12 That|strong="G3588" very|strong="G2532" day|strong="G2250" Pilate|strong="G4091" and|strong="G2532" Herod|strong="G2264" became|strong="G1096" friends|strong="G5384" with|strong="G3326" one|strong="G1438" another|strong="G1438"; previously they|strong="G2532" had|strong="G2532" been|strong="G1510" enemies|strong="G2189".
13 Then|strong="G2532" Pilate|strong="G4091" called|strong="G4779" together|strong="G4779" the|strong="G2532" chief|strong="G2532" priests, the|strong="G2532" rulers, and|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" people|strong="G2992",
14 and|strong="G2532" said|strong="G3004" to|strong="G4314" them|strong="G3588", “You|strong="G5210" brought|strong="G4374" me|strong="G1473" this|strong="G3778" man|strong="G3778" as|strong="G5613" one|strong="G3762" who|strong="G3739" was|strong="G3588" misleading the|strong="G1722" people|strong="G2992". 15 and|strong="G2532" neither|strong="G3761" has|strong="G3762" Herod|strong="G2264", for|strong="G1063" I|strong="G1473" sent|strong="G2532" you|strong="G3708" to|strong="G4314" him|strong="G3708". Clearly he|strong="G2532" has|strong="G3762" done|strong="G4238" nothing|strong="G3762" that|strong="G2532" deserves death|strong="G2288".
16 Therefore|strong="G3767" I|strong="G3767" will|strong="G3767" have|strong="G3811" him flogged|strong="G3811" and|strong="G3767" then|strong="G3767" release him.”
17 Now each year at the feast Pilate was obligated to release one prisoner for the people.

20 Wishing|strong="G2309" to|strong="G2309" release Jesus|strong="G2424", Pilate|strong="G4091" addressed|strong="G4377" them|strong="G3588" again|strong="G3825",
21 but|strong="G1161" they|strong="G1161" kept on|strong="G1161" shouting|strong="G2019", “Crucify|strong="G4717", crucify|strong="G4717" him|strong="G3588"!”
22 A|strong="G1722" third|strong="G5154" time|strong="G5154" he|strong="G1161" said|strong="G3004" to|strong="G4314" them|strong="G3588", “Why|strong="G5101"? 24 So|strong="G2532" Pilate|strong="G4091" rendered his|strong="G2532" decision that|strong="G3588" their|strong="G2532" demand be|strong="G1096" granted|strong="G1096".
25 He|strong="G2532" released the|strong="G2532" man|strong="G3739" they|strong="G2532" had|strong="G2424" been|strong="G2532" asking for|strong="G1519", who|strong="G3739" had|strong="G2424" been|strong="G2532" thrown into|strong="G1519" prison|strong="G5438" for|strong="G1519" insurrection|strong="G4714" and|strong="G2532" murder|strong="G5408", but|strong="G1161" he|strong="G2532" handed|strong="G3860" Jesus|strong="G2424" over|strong="G3860" to|strong="G1519" their|strong="G2532" will|strong="G2307".

27 A|strong="G2532" great|strong="G4183" multitude|strong="G4128" of|strong="G2532" people|strong="G2992" followed|strong="G2992" along|strong="G2532" behind, including|strong="G2532" women|strong="G1135" who|strong="G3739" were|strong="G3588" mourning|strong="G2875" and|strong="G2532" lamenting|strong="G2875" for|strong="G1161" Jesus|strong="G2532".
28 But|strong="G1161" Jesus|strong="G2424" turned|strong="G4762" to|strong="G4314" them|strong="G3588" and|strong="G2532" said|strong="G3004", “\+w Daughters|strong="G2364"\+w* \+w of|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w Jerusalem|strong="G2419"\+w*, \+w do|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3361"\+w* \+w weep|strong="G2799"\+w* \+w for|strong="G1909"\+w* \+w me|strong="G1473"\+w*, \+w but|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w weep|strong="G2799"\+w* \+w for|strong="G1909"\+w* \+w yourselves|strong="G1438"\+w* \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w for|strong="G1909"\+w* \+w your|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w children|strong="G5043"\+w*.

32 Now|strong="G1161" two|strong="G1417" others|strong="G2087", who|strong="G2532" were|strong="G2532" criminals|strong="G2557", were|strong="G2532" also|strong="G2532" being|strong="G2532" led away to|strong="G2532" be|strong="G2532" put|strong="G2532" to|strong="G2532" death with|strong="G4862" Jesus|strong="G2532".

38 There|strong="G2532" was|strong="G1510" also|strong="G2532" an|strong="G2532" inscription|strong="G1923" over|strong="G1909" him|strong="G3588" written|strong="G3588" in|strong="G1909" Greek, Latin, and|strong="G2532" Hebrew, which|strong="G3588" read: “This|strong="G3778" is|strong="G1510" the|strong="G2532" King|strong="G3588" of|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" Jews|strong="G2453".”
39 One|strong="G1520" of|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" criminals|strong="G2557" who|strong="G3588" was|strong="G1510" hanging|strong="G2910" there|strong="G2532" reviled him|strong="G3588", saying|strong="G3004", “If|strong="G2532" yoʋ are|strong="G1510" the|strong="G2532" Christ|strong="G5547", save|strong="G4982" yoʋrself and|strong="G2532" us|strong="G3004"!”
40 But|strong="G1161" the|strong="G1722" other|strong="G2087" rebuked|strong="G2008" him|strong="G3588", saying|strong="G3754", “Do|strong="G5399" yoʋ not|strong="G3761" even|strong="G3761" fear|strong="G5399" God|strong="G2316", seeing|strong="G3754" that|strong="G3754" yoʋ are|strong="G1510" under|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" same condemnation|strong="G2917"?
41 The|strong="G2532" two of|strong="G2532" us|strong="G2249" are|strong="G3739" justly|strong="G1346" condemned, for|strong="G1063" we|strong="G2249" are|strong="G3739" receiving the|strong="G2532" appropriate punishment for|strong="G1063" the|strong="G2532" things|strong="G3778" we|strong="G2249" have|strong="G2532" done|strong="G4238", but|strong="G1161" this|strong="G3778" man|strong="G3778" has|strong="G3739" done|strong="G4238" nothing|strong="G3762" wrong.”
42 Then|strong="G2532" he|strong="G2532" said|strong="G3004" to|strong="G2532" Jesus|strong="G2424", “Remember|strong="G3403" me|strong="G1473", Lord|strong="G3588", when|strong="G3752" yoʋ come|strong="G2064" in|strong="G1722" yoʋr kingdom.”
43 Jesus|strong="G3004" said|strong="G3004" to|strong="G2532" him|strong="G3588", “\+w Truly|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w I|strong="G1473"\+w* \+w say|strong="G3004"\+w* \+w to|strong="G2532"\+w* yoʋ, \+w today|strong="G4594"\+w* yoʋ \+w will|strong="G1510"\+w* \+w be|strong="G1510"\+w* \+w with|strong="G3326"\+w* \+w me|strong="G1473"\+w* \+w in|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w Paradise|strong="G3857"\+w*.”

50 Now|strong="G2532" there|strong="G2532" was|strong="G2532" a|strong="G2532" good|strong="G2532" and|strong="G2532" righteous|strong="G1342" man|strong="G1342" named|strong="G3686" Joseph|strong="G2501", who|strong="G2532" was|strong="G2532" a|strong="G2532" member|strong="G1010" of|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" council|strong="G1010"
51 but|strong="G2532" had|strong="G2532" not|strong="G3756" consented|strong="G4784" to|strong="G2532" their|strong="G2532" decision|strong="G1012" and|strong="G2532" action|strong="G4234". He|strong="G2532" was|strong="G1510" from|strong="G2532" Arimathea, a|strong="G2532" town|strong="G4172" of|strong="G2316" the|strong="G2532" Jews|strong="G2453", and|strong="G2532" was|strong="G1510" himself also|strong="G2532" waiting|strong="G4327" for|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" kingdom of|strong="G2316" God|strong="G2316".
52 He|strong="G3778" went|strong="G4334" to|strong="G4334" Pilate|strong="G4091" and|strong="G4334" asked for|strong="G3778" Jesus|strong="G2424"' body|strong="G4983".
