GOD'S WORD (ENGGW) vs BKJ
1 Elisha had told the woman whose son he had brought back to life, “Go away with your family. Stay wherever you can. The Lord has decided to send a famine on this country, and it will last seven years.”
1 Então, falou Eliseu à mulher de cujo filho ele havia restaurado a vida, dizendo: Levanta-te, e vai, tu e a tua casa, e te hospeda onde quer que conseguires te hospedar; porque o SENHOR chamou uma fome; e ela também sobrevirá à terra por sete anos.
2 The woman did what the man of God told her. She and her family went to live in Philistine territory for seven years.
2 E a mulher se levantou, e fez segundo o dizer do homem de Deus; e ela se foi com a sua casa, e se hospedou na terra dos filisteus sete anos.
3 At the end of seven years, the woman came home from Philistine territory but left again to make an appeal to the king about her house and land.
3 E sucedeu, ao fim dos sete anos, que a mulher retornou da terra dos filisteus; e saiu para clamar ao rei pela sua casa e pela sua terra.
4 The king was talking to Gehazi, the servant of the man of God. He said, “Please tell me about all the great things Elisha has done.”
4 E o rei conversou com Geazi, o servo do homem de Deus, dizendo: Conta-me, rogo-te, todas as grandes coisas que Eliseu tem feito.
5 While Gehazi was telling the king how Elisha brought a dead child back to life, the mother ⌞came to⌟ make an appeal to the king about her house and land.
5 E sucedeu, enquanto ele estava contando ao rei como ele havia restaurado à vida um corpo morto, que a mulher a cujo filho ele havia restaurado a vida, clamou ao rei pela sua casa e pela sua terra. E Geazi disse: Meu senhor, ó rei, esta é a mulher, e este é o seu filho, ao qual Eliseu restaurou a vida.
6 When the king asked the woman ⌞about this⌟, she told him the story. So the king assigned to her an attendant to whom he said, “Restore all that is hers, including whatever her property produced from the day she left the country until now.”
6 E, quando o rei perguntou à mulher, ela lhe contou. Assim, o rei indicou a ela um certo oficial, dizendo: Restaura tudo o que era dela, e todos os frutos do campo desde o dia em que ela deixou a terra, até este exato momento.
7 Elisha went to Damascus. King Benhadad of Aram, who was sick, was told, “The man of God has come here.”
7 E Eliseu veio até Damasco; e Ben-Hadade, o rei da Síria, estava enfermo; e lhe contaram, dizendo: O homem de Deus veio para cá.
8 The king told Hazael, “Take a present, and meet the man of God. Ask the Lord through him, ‘Will I recover from this illness?’ ”
8 E o rei disse a Hazael: Toma um presente nas tuas mãos, e vai, encontra o homem de Deus e consulta o SENHOR por intermédio dele, dizendo: Recuperar-me-ei desta enfermidade?
9 Hazael went to meet Elisha. He took with him a present and all kinds of goods from Damascus. He had loaded the goods on 40 camels. He stood in front of Elisha and said, “Your humble servant King Benhadad of Aram has sent me to you. He asks whether he will recover from this illness.”
9 E foi Hazael ao seu encontro, levando consigo uma oferta e tudo de bom de Damasco, ele carregou em quarenta camelos. Chegou e apresentou-se diante dele, e disse: O teu filho, Ben-Hadade, rei da Síria, enviou-me a ti, dizendo: Recuperar-me-ei desta enfermidade?
10 Elisha replied, “Tell him that he will get better, although the Lord has shown me that he is actually going to die.”
10 E Eliseu disse-lhe: Vai e diz a ele: Tu podes certamente te recuperar; todavia o SENHOR tem me mostrado que ele certamente morrerá.
11 He stared at him until he became embarrassed. Then the man of God began to cry.
11 E ele descaiu firmemente o seu semblante até que ficou envergonhado; e o homem de Deus chorou.
12 “Sir, why are you crying?” Hazael asked.
12 E Hazael disse: Por que chora o meu senhor? E ele respondeu: Como sei o mal que farás aos filhos de Israel; colocarás fogo às suas fortalezas, e matarás os seus moços à espada, despedaçarás os seus filhos, e racharás as suas mulheres grávidas.
13 But Hazael asked, “How can a dog like me do such a significant thing?”
13 E Hazael disse: Mas o quê? É o teu servo um cão, para que ele fizesse esta grande coisa? E Eliseu respondeu: O SENHOR tem me mostrado que tu serás rei sobre a Síria.
14 Hazael left Elisha and went to his master Benhadad, who asked him what Elisha had said.
14 Assim, ele partiu de Eliseu, e chegou ao seu mestre; o qual lhe disse: O que te disse Eliseu? E respondeu-lhe: Ele me contou que tu certamente te recuperarias.
15 But the next day Hazael took a blanket, soaked it in water, and smothered the king with it. Hazael ruled as king in his place.
15 E sucedeu, no amanhecer, que ele tomou um tecido grosso, e o mergulhou em água, e o estendeu sobre a sua face, de modo que ele morreu; e Hazael reinou em seu lugar.
16 Joram (Ahab’s son) was in his fifth year as king of Israel when Jehoram, son of King Jehoshaphat of Judah, began to rule. Jehoram ruled while Jehoshaphat was still king of Judah.
16 E no quinto ano de Jorão, filho de Acabe, rei de Israel, reinando Josafá, em Judá, começou a reinar Jeorão, filho de Josafá, rei de Judá.
17 He was 32 years old when he began to rule, and he ruled for 8 years in Jerusalem.
17 Tinha ele trinta e dois anos quando começou a reinar; e reinou oito anos em Jerusalém.
18 He followed the ways of the kings of Israel, as Ahab’s family had done, because his wife was Ahab’s daughter. So he did what the Lord considered evil.
18 E ele andou no caminho dos reis de Israel, como fez a casa de Acabe; porque a filha de Acabe era sua esposa; e ele fez o mal à vista do SENHOR.
19 But for David’s sake the Lord didn’t want to destroy Judah. The Lord had told David that he would always give him and his descendants a ⌞shining⌟ lamp.
19 Contudo, o SENHOR não quis destruir Judá por causa de Davi, o seu servo, já que ele prometeu sempre dar uma luz a ele e aos seus filhos.
20 During Jehoram’s time Edom rebelled against Judah and chose its own king.
20 Nos seus dias Edom se revoltou contra estar debaixo da mão de Judá, e fizeram um rei sobre si mesmos.
21 Jehoram took all his chariots to attack Zair. The Edomites and their chariot commanders surrounded him, but he got up at night, broke through their lines, and his troops fled home.
21 Assim, Jeorão atravessou até Zair, e todas as carruagens com ele; e ele se levantou à noite, e feriu os edomitas, os quais os cercaram, e os capitães das carruagens; e o povo fugiu para dentro das suas tendas.
22 So Edom rebelled against Judah’s rule and is still independent today. At that time Libnah also rebelled.
22 Contudo, Edom se revoltou contra estar sob a mão de Judá até este dia. Então, Libna se revoltou ao mesmo tempo.
23 Isn’t everything else about Jehoram—everything he did—written in the official records of the kings of Judah?
23 E o restante dos atos de Jeorão, e tudo o que ele fez, não estão escritos no livro das Crônicas dos reis de Judá?
24 Jehoram lay down in death with his ancestors and was buried with them in the City of David. His son Ahaziah succeeded him as king.
24 E Jeorão dormiu com os seus pais, e foi sepultado com os seus pais na cidade de Davi; e Acazias, o seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.
25 Joram (Ahab’s son) was in his twelfth year as king of Israel when Jehoram’s son Ahaziah became king of Judah.
25 No décimo segundo ano de Jorão, o filho de Acabe, rei de Israel, Acazias, o filho de Jeorão, rei de Judá, começou a reinar.
26 Ahaziah was 22 years old when he began to rule, and he ruled for one year in Jerusalem. His mother was Athaliah, the granddaughter of King Omri of Israel.
26 Vinte e dois anos tinha Acazias quando começou a reinar; e ele reinou um ano em Jerusalém. E o nome da sua mãe era Atalia, a filha de Onri, rei de Israel.
27 Ahaziah followed the ways of Ahab’s family. He did what the Lord considered evil, as Ahab’s family had done, because he was related to Ahab’s family by marriage.
27 E ele andou no caminho da casa de Acabe, e fez o mal à vista do SENHOR, como fez a casa de Acabe; porque ele era o genro da casa de Acabe.
28 Ahaziah went with Ahab’s son Joram to fight against King Hazael of Aram at Ramoth Gilead. There the Arameans wounded Joram.
28 E ele foi com Jorão, o filho de Acabe, para a guerra contra Hazael, rei da Síria em Ramote-Gileade; e os sírios feriram Jorão.
29 King Joram returned to Jezreel to let his wounds heal. (He had been wounded by the Arameans at Ramah when he fought against King Hazael of Aram.) Then Jehoram’s son Ahaziah went to Jezreel to see Ahab’s son Joram, who was sick.
29 E o rei Jorão voltou a Jezreel para ser curado dos ferimentos que os sírios lhe haviam causado em Ramá, quando ele lutou contra Hazael, rei da Síria. E Acazias, o filho de Jeorão, rei de Judá, desceu para ver Jorão, o filho de Acabe, em Jezreel, porque estava enfermo.
