1 On the tenth day of the tenth month of the ninth year of Zedekiah’s reign, King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon attacked Jerusalem with his entire army. They set up camp and built dirt ramps around the city walls.
1 E sucedeu, no nono ano do seu reinado, no décimo mês, no décimo dia do mês, que Nabucodonosor, rei de Babilônia, ele e todo o seu exército, veio contra Jerusalém, acampou contra ela; e edificaram fortes ao seu redor.
2 The blockade of the city lasted until Zedekiah’s eleventh year as king.
2 E a cidade ficou sitiada até o décimo primeiro ano do rei Zedequias.
3 On the ninth day of the fourth month, the famine in the city became so severe that the common people had no food.
3 E no nono dia do quarto mês, a fome prevaleceu na cidade, e não houve pão para o povo da terra.
4 The enemy broke through the city walls that night. All Judah’s soldiers left on the road of the gate between the two walls beside the king’s garden. While the Babylonians were attacking the city from all sides, the king took the road to the plain ⌞of Jericho⌟.
4 E a cidade foi rompida, e todos os homens de guerra fugiram à noite pelo caminho do portão entre dois muros, o qual fica junto ao jardim do rei (ora, os caldeus estavam contra a cidade ao seu redor), e o rei foi pelo caminho em direção à planície.
5 The Babylonian army pursued King Zedekiah and caught up with him in the plain of Jericho. His entire army had deserted him.
5 E o exército dos caldeus perseguiu o rei, e o alcançou na planície de Jericó; e todo o seu exército foi disperso dele.
6 The Babylonians captured the king, brought him to the king of Babylon at Riblah, and passed sentence on him.
6 Assim, eles pegaram o rei, e o fizeram subir até ao rei de Babilônia, a Ribla; e fizeram um julgamento dele.
7 They slaughtered Zedekiah’s sons as he watched, and then they blinded Zedekiah. They put him in bronze shackles and took him to Babylon.
7 E mataram os filhos de Zedequias diante dos seus olhos, e arrancaram os olhos de Zedequias, e o amarraram com grilhões de bronze, e o carregaram até Babilônia.
8 On the seventh day of the fifth month of Nebuchadnezzar’s nineteenth year as king of Babylon, Nebuzaradan, who was the captain of the guard and an officer of the king of Babylon, came to Jerusalem.
8 E no quinto mês, no sétimo dia do mês, o qual é o décimo nono ano do rei Nabucodonosor, rei de Babilônia, veio Nebuzaradã, capitão da guarda, um servo do rei de Babilônia, até Jerusalém;
9 He burned down the Lord’s temple, the royal palace, and all the houses in Jerusalem. Every important building was burned down.
9 e ele queimou a casa do SENHOR, e a casa do rei, e todas as casas de Jerusalém, e a casa de todo homem distinto ele queimou com fogo.
10 The entire Babylonian army that was with the captain of the guard tore down the walls around Jerusalem.
10 E todo o exército dos caldeus, que estava com o capitão da guarda, pôs abaixo os muros ao redor de Jerusalém.
11 Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard, captured the few people left in the city, those who surrendered to the king of Babylon, and the rest of the population.
11 Ora, o restante do povo que foi deixado na cidade, e dos fugitivos que caíram diante do rei de Babilônia, com o remanescente da multidão, Nebuzaradã, o capitão da guarda, levou consigo.
12 The captain of the guard left some of the poorest people in the land to work in the vineyards and on the farms.
12 Porém, o capitão da guarda deixou os pobres da terra para serem vinhateiros e lavradores.
13 The Babylonians broke apart the bronze pillars of the Lord’s temple, the stands, and the bronze pool in the Lord’s temple. They shipped the bronze to Babylon.
13 E as colunas de bronze que estavam na casa do SENHOR, e as bases, e o mar de bronze que estava na casa do SENHOR, os caldeus quebraram em pedaços, e carregaram o bronze deles para Babilônia.
14 They took the pots, shovels, snuffers, dishes, and all the bronze utensils used in the temple service.
14 E as panelas, e as pás, e as espevitadeiras, e as colheres, e todos os vasos com os quais ministravam, eles levaram consigo.
15 The captain of the guard took all of the incense burners and bowls that were made of gold or silver.
15 E os braseiros, e as tigelas, e coisas do gênero que eram de ouro, em ouro, e de prata, em prata, o capitão da guarda levou consigo.
16 The bronze from the two pillars, the pool, and the stands that Solomon had made for the Lord’s temple couldn’t be weighed.
16 As duas colunas, um mar, e as bases que Salomão havia feito para a casa do SENHOR; o bronze de todos estes vasos foi sem pesagem.
17 One pillar was 27 feet high and had a bronze capital on it that was 4½ feet high. The filigree and the pomegranates around the capital were all made of bronze. The second pillar and its filigree were the same.
17 A altura de uma coluna era de dezoito côvados, e o capitel sobre ela era de bronze; e a altura do capitel era de três côvados; e a rede e as romãs sobre o capitel, tudo era de bronze; e semelhantes a esta era a outra coluna com a rede.
18 The captain of the guard took the chief priest Seraiah, the second priest Zephaniah, and the 3 doorkeepers.
18 E o capitão da guarda tomou Seraías, o sumo sacerdote, e Sofonias, o segundo sacerdote, e os três guardadores da porta;
19 From the city he also took an army commander, 5 men who had access to the king whom he found in the city, the scribe who was in charge of the militia, and 60 of the common people whom he found in the city.
19 e da cidade ele tomou um oficial que foi posto acima dos homens de guerra, e cinco homens dos que estavam na presença do rei, os quais foram achados na cidade, e o principal escriba do exército, o qual convocou o povo da terra, e sessenta homens do povo da terra que foram achados na cidade;
20 Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard, took them and brought them to the king of Babylon at Riblah.
20 e Nebuzaradã, capitão da guarda, tomou estes, e os trouxe até o rei de Babilônia, a Ribla;
21 The king of Babylon executed them at Riblah in the territory of Hamath. So the people of Judah were captives when they left their land.
21 e o rei de Babilônia os feriu, e os matou em Ribla na terra de Hamate. Assim, Judá foi removido da sua terra.
22 King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon appointed Gedaliah, son of Ahikam and grandson of Shaphan, to govern the remaining people in the land of Judah.
22 E quanto ao povo que permaneceu na terra de Judá, ao qual Nabucodonosor, rei de Babilônia havia deixado, designou sobre eles a Gedalias, o filho de Aicão, o filho de Safã.
23 When all the army commanders and their men heard that the king of Babylon had appointed Gedaliah, they went to Gedaliah at Mizpah. They were Ishmael (son of Nethaniah), Johanan (son of Kareah), Seraiah (son of Tanhumeth from Netophah), and Jaazaniah from Beth Maacah and their men.
23 E, quando todos os capitães dos exércitos, eles e os seus homens, ouviram que o rei de Babilônia havia feito de Gedalias governador, vieram a Gedalias, a Mispá, o próprio Ismael, o filho de Netanias, e Joanã, o filho de Careá, e Seraías, o filho de Tanumete, o netofatita, e Jazanias, o filho de um maacatita, eles e os seus homens.
24 Gedaliah swore an oath to them and their men. He said, “Don’t be afraid of the Babylonian officers. Live in this country, serve the king of Babylon, and you will prosper.”
24 E Gedalias jurou a eles e aos seus homens, e disse-lhes: Não temais por serem servos dos caldeus; habitai na terra, e servi ao rei de Babilônia; e isto vos será bem.
25 In the seventh month Ishmael (son of Nethaniah and grandson of Elishama, a descendant of the kings) went with ten men to kill Gedaliah and the Judeans and Babylonians who were with him at Mizpah.
25 Porém, sucedeu no sétimo mês, que Ismael, o filho de Netanias, o filho de Elisama, da semente real, veio, e com ele dez homens, e feriu Gedalias, de modo que morreu, e os judeus e os caldeus que estavam com ele em Mispá.
26 Then people of all classes and the army commanders left for Egypt because they were afraid of the Babylonians.
26 E todo o povo, tanto os pequenos como os grandes, e os capitães dos exércitos, levantaram-se e vieram até o Egito; porque temiam os caldeus.
27 On the twenty-seventh day of the twelfth month of the thirty-seventh year of the imprisonment of King Jehoiakin of Judah, King Evil Merodach of Babylon, in the first year of his reign, freed King Jehoiakin of Judah from prison.
27 E sucedeu, no trigésimo sétimo ano do cativeiro de Joaquim, rei de Judá, no décimo segundo mês, vigésimo sétimo dia do mês, que Evil-Merodaque, rei de Babilônia, no ano em que ele começou a reinar ergueu a cabeça de Joaquim, rei de Judá, da prisão;
28 He treated him well and gave him a special position higher than the other kings who were with him in Babylon.
28 e ele falou gentilmente com ele, e pôs o seu trono acima do trono dos reis que estavam com ele em Babilônia;
29 Jehoiakin no longer wore prison clothes, and he ate his meals in the king’s presence as long as he lived.
29 e trocou as suas vestes de prisioneiro; e ele comeu pão continuamente diante dele, todos os dias da sua vida.
30 The king of Babylon gave him a daily food allowance as long as he lived.
30 E o seu sustento foi um sustento contínuo dado a ele por parte do rei, uma estimativa diária para cada dia, todos os dias da sua vida.
