18 Os seus descendentes se tornarão uma nação grande e poderosa, e por meio dele eu abençoarei todas as nações da terra.

20 Aí o Senhor disse a Abraão: — Há terríveis acusações contra Sodoma e Gomorra, e o pecado dos seus moradores é muito grave.

22 Então dois dos visitantes saíram, indo na direção de Sodoma; porém Abraão ficou ali com Deus, o Senhor .

25 Não é possível que mates os bons junto com os maus, como se todos tivessem cometido os mesmos pecados. Não faças isso! Tu és o juiz do mundo inteiro e por isso agirás com justiça.
26 Then|strong="H5375" the|strong="H3605" LORD|strong="H3068" said|strong="H0559", “If|strong="H0518" I|strong="H0518" find|strong="H4672" fifty|strong="H2572" good people|strong="H0518" in|strong="H3068" the|strong="H3605" city|strong="H5892" of|strong="H3068" Sodom|strong="H5467", I|strong="H0518" will|strong="H3068" save the|strong="H3605" whole|strong="H3605" city|strong="H5892".”
26 O Senhor Deus respondeu: — Se eu achar cinquenta pessoas direitas em Sodoma, perdoarei a cidade inteira por causa delas.
27 Then|strong="H6030" Abraham|strong="H0085" said|strong="H0559", “Compared to|strong="H0413" you|strong="H0413", Lord|strong="H0136", I|strong="H0595" am|strong="H0595" only dust|strong="H6083" and|strong="H1696" ashes|strong="H0665". 28 Pode acontecer que haja apenas quarenta e cinco pessoas direitas. Destruirás a cidade por causa dessa diferença de cinco? Deus respondeu: — Se eu achar quarenta e cinco, não destruirei a cidade.
29 Abraham|strong="H3254" spoke|strong="H1696" again|strong="H5750". He|strong="H8033" said|strong="H0559", “And|strong="H8033" if|strong="H0194" you|strong="H6213" find|strong="H4672" only forty|strong="H0705" good people|strong="H3808" there|strong="H8033", will|strong="H3808" you|strong="H6213" destroy|strong="H6213" the|strong="H0559" city?”
29 Abraão continuou: — E se houver somente quarenta bons? — Por amor a esses quarenta, não destruirei a cidade — Deus respondeu.

30 Abraão disse: — Não fiques zangado comigo, Senhor, por eu continuar a falar. E se houver só trinta? Deus respondeu: — Se houver trinta, eu perdoarei a cidade.

31 Abraão tornou a insistir: — Estou sendo atrevido, mas me perdoa, Senhor. E se houver somente vinte? — Por amor a esses vinte, não destruirei a cidade — Deus respondeu.

32 Finalmente Abraão disse: — Não fiques zangado, Senhor, pois esta é a última vez que vou falar. E se houver só dez? — Por causa desses dez, não destruirei a cidade — Deus respondeu.
