1 Naquele tempo Herodes, o governador da Galileia, ouviu falar a respeito de Jesus.
2 and|strong="G2532" said|strong="G3004" unto|strong="G3004" his|strong="G1223" servants|strong="G3816", This|strong="G3778" is|strong="G1510" John|strong="G2491" the|strong="G1722" Baptist; he|strong="G2532" is|strong="G1510" risen|strong="G1453" from|strong="G2532" the|strong="G1722" dead|strong="G3498"; and|strong="G2532" therefore|strong="G1223" do|strong="G2532" these|strong="G3778" powers|strong="G1411" work|strong="G1754" in|strong="G1722" him|strong="G3588".
2 Então ele disse aos seus funcionários: — Esse homem é João Batista, que foi ressuscitado. Por isso esse homem tem poder para fazer milagres.

3 Pois Herodes tinha mandado prender João, amarrar as suas mãos e jogá-lo na cadeia. Ele havia feito isso por causa de Herodias, esposa do seu irmão Filipe.

6 No dia do aniversário de Herodes, a filha de Herodias dançou diante de todos, e ele gostou tanto,

7 que prometeu à moça: — Juro que darei tudo o que você me pedir!

8 Seguindo o conselho da sua mãe, ela pediu: — Quero a cabeça de João Batista num prato, agora mesmo!

11 Aí trouxeram a cabeça num prato, entregaram para a moça, e ela a levou para a sua mãe.
12 And|strong="G2532" his|strong="G2532" disciples|strong="G3101" came|strong="G2064", and|strong="G2532" took|strong="G2532" up|strong="G4334" the|strong="G2532" body|strong="G4430", and|strong="G2532" buried|strong="G2290" it|strong="G2532"; and|strong="G2532" they|strong="G2532" went|strong="G2064" and|strong="G2532" told Jesus|strong="G2424".
12 Então os discípulos de João vieram, levaram o corpo dele e o sepultaram. Depois foram contar isso a Jesus.
13 And|strong="G2532" when|strong="G1161" Jesus|strong="G2424" heard it, he|strong="G2532" withdrew|strong="G2424" from|strong="G2532" thence|strong="G1564" in|strong="G1722" a|strong="G2532" boat|strong="G4143", to|strong="G1519" a|strong="G2532" desert|strong="G2048" place|strong="G5117" apart|strong="G2398": and|strong="G2532" when|strong="G1161" the|strong="G1722" multitudes|strong="G3793" heard thereof, they|strong="G2532" followed him|strong="G3588" on|strong="G1722" foot|strong="G3979" from|strong="G2532" the|strong="G1722" cities|strong="G4172".
13 Ao saber o que havia acontecido, Jesus saiu dali num barco e foi sozinho para um lugar deserto. Mas as multidões souberam onde ele estava, vieram dos seus povoados e o seguiram por terra.
14 And|strong="G2532" Jesus|strong="G1831" came|strong="G1831" forth|strong="G1831", and|strong="G2532" saw|strong="G3708" a|strong="G2532" great|strong="G4183" multitude|strong="G3793", and|strong="G2532" he|strong="G2532" had|strong="G2532" compassion|strong="G4697" on|strong="G1909" them|strong="G3588", and|strong="G2532" healed|strong="G2323" their|strong="G2532" sick.
14 Quando Jesus saiu do barco e viu aquela grande multidão, ficou com muita pena deles e curou os doentes que estavam ali.
15 And|strong="G2532" when|strong="G1161" even|strong="G2532" was|strong="G1510" come|strong="G1096", his|strong="G1438" disciples|strong="G3101" came|strong="G4334" to|strong="G1519" him|strong="G3588", saying|strong="G3004", The|strong="G2532" place|strong="G5117" is|strong="G1510" desert|strong="G2048", and|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" time|strong="G5610" is|strong="G1510" already|strong="G2235" past|strong="G3928"; send the|strong="G2532" multitudes|strong="G3793" away|strong="G3928", that|strong="G2443" they|strong="G2532" may|strong="G2532" go|strong="G3928" into|strong="G1519" the|strong="G2532" villages|strong="G2968", and|strong="G2532" buy themselves|strong="G1438" food|strong="G1033".
15 De tardinha, os discípulos chegaram perto de Jesus e disseram: — Já é tarde, e este lugar é deserto. Mande essa gente embora, a fim de que vão aos povoados e comprem alguma coisa para comer.
16 But|strong="G1161" Jesus|strong="G2424" said|strong="G3004" unto|strong="G3004" them|strong="G3588", They|strong="G1161" have|strong="G2192" no|strong="G3756" need|strong="G5532" to|strong="G3004" go|strong="G2192" away; give|strong="G1325" ye|strong="G5210" them|strong="G3588" to|strong="G3004" eat|strong="G2068".
16 Mas Jesus respondeu:
17 And|strong="G2532" they|strong="G2532" say|strong="G3004" unto|strong="G3004" him|strong="G3588", We|strong="G2532" have|strong="G2192" here|strong="G5602" but|strong="G1161" five|strong="G4002" loaves, and|strong="G2532" two|strong="G1417" fish|strong="G2486".
17 Eles disseram: — Só temos aqui cinco pães e dois peixes.
18 And|strong="G1161" he|strong="G1161" said|strong="G3004", Bring|strong="G5342" them|strong="G3588" hither|strong="G5602" to|strong="G3004" me|strong="G1473".
18 — Pois tragam para mim! — disse Jesus.
19 And|strong="G2532" he|strong="G2532" commanded|strong="G2753" the|strong="G2532" multitudes|strong="G3793" to|strong="G1519" sit down on|strong="G1909" the|strong="G2532" grass|strong="G5528"; and|strong="G2532" he|strong="G2532" took|strong="G2983" the|strong="G2532" five|strong="G4002" loaves, and|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" two|strong="G1417" fish|strong="G2486", and|strong="G2532" looking|strong="G2532" up|strong="G1519" to|strong="G1519" heaven|strong="G3772", he|strong="G2532" blessed|strong="G2127", and|strong="G2532" brake|strong="G2806" and|strong="G2532" gave|strong="G1325" the|strong="G2532" loaves to|strong="G1519" the|strong="G2532" disciples|strong="G3101", and|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" disciples|strong="G3101" to|strong="G1519" the|strong="G2532" multitudes|strong="G3793".
19 Então mandou o povo sentar-se na grama. Depois pegou os cinco pães e os dois peixes, olhou para o céu e deu graças a Deus. Partiu os pães, entregou-os aos discípulos, e estes distribuíram ao povo.
20 And|strong="G2532" they|strong="G2532" all|strong="G3956" ate|strong="G2068", and|strong="G2532" were|strong="G3588" filled|strong="G5526": and|strong="G2532" they|strong="G2532" took|strong="G2532" up|strong="G2532" that|strong="G3588" which|strong="G3588" remained|strong="G4052" over|strong="G4052" of|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" broken|strong="G2801" pieces|strong="G2801", twelve|strong="G1427" baskets|strong="G2894" full|strong="G4134".
20 Todos comeram e ficaram satisfeitos, e os discípulos ainda recolheram doze cestos cheios dos pedaços que sobraram.
21 And|strong="G2532" they|strong="G2532" that|strong="G3588" did|strong="G2532" eat|strong="G2068" were|strong="G1510" about|strong="G5616" five|strong="G4000" thousand|strong="G4000" men|strong="G3588", besides|strong="G5565" women|strong="G1135" and|strong="G2532" children|strong="G3813".
21 Os que comeram foram mais ou menos cinco mil homens, sem contar as mulheres e as crianças.
22 And|strong="G2532" straightaway Jesus|strong="G2532" constrained the|strong="G2532" disciples|strong="G3101" to|strong="G1519" enter|strong="G1519" into|strong="G1519" the|strong="G2532" boat|strong="G4143", and|strong="G2532" to|strong="G1519" go|strong="G4254" before|strong="G4254" him|strong="G3588" unto|strong="G1519" the|strong="G2532" other|strong="G4008" side|strong="G4008", till|strong="G2193" he|strong="G2532" should|strong="G3588" send the|strong="G2532" multitudes|strong="G3793" away.
22 Logo depois, Jesus ordenou aos discípulos que subissem no barco e fossem na frente para o lado oeste do lago, enquanto ele mandava o povo embora.
23 And|strong="G2532" after|strong="G2596" he|strong="G2532" had|strong="G2532" sent|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" multitudes|strong="G3793" away, he|strong="G2532" went|strong="G2532" up|strong="G1519" into|strong="G1519" the|strong="G2532" mountain|strong="G3735" apart|strong="G2398" to|strong="G1519" pray|strong="G4336": and|strong="G2532" when|strong="G1161" even|strong="G2532" was|strong="G1510" come|strong="G1096", he|strong="G2532" was|strong="G1510" there|strong="G1563" alone|strong="G3441".
23 Depois de mandar o povo embora, Jesus subiu um monte a fim de orar sozinho. Quando chegou a noite, ele estava ali, sozinho.
24 But|strong="G1161" the|strong="G1161" boat|strong="G4143" was|strong="G1510" now|strong="G1161" in|strong="G1161" the|strong="G1161" midst|strong="G3319" of|strong="G5259" the|strong="G1161" sea|strong="G2281", distressed by|strong="G5259" the|strong="G1161" waves|strong="G2949"; for|strong="G1063" the|strong="G1161" wind was|strong="G1510" contrary|strong="G1727".
24 Naquele momento o barco já estava no meio do lago. E as ondas batiam com força no barco porque o vento soprava contra ele.
25 And|strong="G1161" in|strong="G1909" the|strong="G1161" fourth|strong="G5067" watch|strong="G5438" of|strong="G1909" the|strong="G1161" night|strong="G3571" Jesus|strong="G2064" went|strong="G2064" unto|strong="G4314" them|strong="G3588", walking|strong="G4043" upon|strong="G1909" the|strong="G1161" sea|strong="G2281".
25 Já de madrugada, entre as três e as seis horas, Jesus foi até lá, andando em cima da água.
26 And|strong="G2532" when|strong="G1161" the|strong="G2532" disciples|strong="G3101" saw|strong="G3708" him|strong="G3588" walking|strong="G4043" on|strong="G1909" the|strong="G2532" sea|strong="G2281", they|strong="G2532" were|strong="G1510" troubled|strong="G5015", saying|strong="G3004", It|strong="G2532" is|strong="G1510" a|strong="G2532" ghost|strong="G5326"; and|strong="G2532" they|strong="G2532" cried|strong="G2896" out|strong="G2896" for|strong="G3754" fear|strong="G5401".
26 Quando os discípulos viram Jesus andando em cima da água, ficaram apavorados e exclamaram: — É um fantasma! E gritaram de medo.
27 But|strong="G1161" straightaway Jesus|strong="G2424" spake|strong="G2980" unto|strong="G3004" them|strong="G3004", saying|strong="G3004", Be|strong="G1510" of|strong="G2424" good|strong="G1510" cheer; it|strong="G1161" is|strong="G1510" I|strong="G1473"; be|strong="G1510" not|strong="G3361" afraid|strong="G5399".
27 Nesse instante Jesus disse:
28 And|strong="G1161" Peter|strong="G4074" answered|strong="G3004" him|strong="G3588" and|strong="G1161" said|strong="G3004", Lord|strong="G2962", if|strong="G1487" it|strong="G1161" be|strong="G1510" thou|strong="G4771", bid|strong="G2753" me|strong="G1473" come|strong="G2064" unto|strong="G4314" thee upon|strong="G1909" the|strong="G1161" waters|strong="G5204".
28 Então Pedro disse: — Se é o senhor mesmo, mande que eu vá andando em cima da água até onde o senhor está.
29 And|strong="G2532" he|strong="G2532" said|strong="G3004", Come|strong="G2064". And|strong="G2532" Peter|strong="G4074" went|strong="G2064" down|strong="G2597" from|strong="G2064" the|strong="G2532" boat|strong="G4143", and|strong="G2532" walked|strong="G4043" upon|strong="G1909" the|strong="G2532" waters|strong="G5204" to|strong="G4314" go|strong="G2597" to|strong="G4314" Jesus|strong="G2424".
29 — Venha! — respondeu Jesus. Pedro saiu do barco e começou a andar em cima da água, em direção a Jesus.
30 But|strong="G1161" when|strong="G1161" he|strong="G2532" saw the|strong="G2532" strong|strong="G2478" wind, he|strong="G2532" was|strong="G3588" afraid|strong="G5399"; and|strong="G2532" beginning to|strong="G2532" sink|strong="G2670", he|strong="G2532" cried|strong="G2896" out|strong="G2896", saying|strong="G3004", Lord|strong="G2962", save|strong="G4982" me|strong="G1473".
30 Porém, quando sentiu a força do vento, ficou com medo e começou a afundar. Então gritou: — Socorro, Senhor!
31 And|strong="G2532" immediately|strong="G2112" Jesus|strong="G2424" stretched|strong="G1614" forth|strong="G1614" his|strong="G1519" hand|strong="G5495", and|strong="G2532" took|strong="G1949" hold|strong="G1949" of|strong="G2532" him|strong="G3588", and|strong="G2532" saith|strong="G3004" unto|strong="G3004" him|strong="G3588", O thou|strong="G5101" of|strong="G2532" little|strong="G3640" faith|strong="G3640", wherefore|strong="G5101" didst|strong="G2532" thou|strong="G5101" doubt|strong="G1365"?
31 Imediatamente Jesus estendeu a mão, segurou Pedro e disse:
32 And|strong="G2532" when|strong="G2532" they|strong="G2532" had|strong="G2532" entered into|strong="G1519" the|strong="G2532" boat|strong="G4143", the|strong="G2532" wind ceased|strong="G2869".
32 Então os dois subiram no barco, e o vento se acalmou.
33 And|strong="G1161" they|strong="G1161" that|strong="G3588" were|strong="G1510" in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" boat|strong="G4143" came|strong="G3588" and|strong="G1161" worshiped|strong="G4352" him|strong="G3588", saying|strong="G3004", Of|strong="G5207" a|strong="G1722" truth thou|strong="G3004" art the|strong="G1722" Son|strong="G5207" of|strong="G5207" God|strong="G2316".
33 E os discípulos adoraram Jesus, dizendo: — De fato, o senhor é o Filho de Deus!
34 And|strong="G2532" when|strong="G2532" they|strong="G2532" had|strong="G2532" crossed|strong="G1276" over|strong="G1909", they|strong="G2532" came|strong="G2064" to|strong="G1519" the|strong="G2532" land|strong="G1093" of|strong="G2532" Gennesaret|strong="G1082".
34 Jesus e os discípulos atravessaram o lago e chegaram à região de Genesaré.
35 And|strong="G2532" when|strong="G2532" the|strong="G2532" men|strong="G3956" of|strong="G2532" that|strong="G3588" place|strong="G5117" knew|strong="G1921" him|strong="G3588", they|strong="G2532" sent|strong="G2532" into|strong="G1519" all|strong="G3956" that|strong="G3588" region|strong="G4066" round|strong="G2532" about|strong="G4066", and|strong="G2532" brought|strong="G4374" unto|strong="G1519" him|strong="G3588" all|strong="G3956" that|strong="G3588" were|strong="G3588" sick|strong="G2560";
35 Ali o povo reconheceu Jesus e avisou todos os doentes das regiões vizinhas. Então muitas pessoas levaram doentes a ele,
36 and|strong="G2532" they|strong="G2532" besought|strong="G3870" him|strong="G3588" that|strong="G2443" they|strong="G2532" might|strong="G2532" only|strong="G3440" touch the|strong="G2532" border|strong="G2899" of|strong="G2532" his|strong="G2532" garment|strong="G2440": and|strong="G2532" as|strong="G3745" many|strong="G3745" as|strong="G3745" touched were|strong="G3588" made whole|strong="G1295".
36 pedindo que deixasse que os doentes pelo menos tocassem na barra da sua roupa. E todos os que tocavam nela ficavam curados.
