1 O ancião à Senhora eleita e a seus filhos, que amo na verdade. Não somente eu, mas também todos os que conheceram a verdade,

3 Estejam convosco, na verdade e no amor: graça, misericórdia e paz da parte de Deus Pai e de Jesus Cristo, Filho do Pai.

4 Muito me alegrei por ter achado entre teus filhos alguns que andam na verdade, conforme o mandamento que temos recebido do Pai.

5 E agora rogo-te, Senhora, não como quem te escreve um novo mandamento, mas sim o que tivemos desde o princípio: que nos amemos uns aos outros.

6 Nisto consiste o amor: que vivamos segundo seus mandamentos. É este o mandamento que tendes ouvido desde o princípio, e segundo o qual deveis viver.
7 For|strong="G3754" many|strong="G4183" deceivers|strong="G4108" are|strong="G1510" entered|strong="G2064" into|strong="G1519" the|strong="G1722" world|strong="G2889", even they|strong="G2532" that|strong="G3754" confess|strong="G3670" not|strong="G3361" that|strong="G3754" Jesus|strong="G2424" Christ|strong="G5547" cometh|strong="G2064" in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" flesh|strong="G4561". This|strong="G3778" is|strong="G1510" the|strong="G1722" deceiver|strong="G4108" and|strong="G2532" the|strong="G1722" antichrist.
7 Muitos sedutores têm saído pelo mundo afora, os quais não proclamam Jesus Cristo que se encarnou. Quem assim proclama é o sedutor e o Anticristo.
8 Look to|strong="G2443" yourselves|strong="G1438", that|strong="G2443" we|strong="G3739" lose not|strong="G3361" the|strong="G3739" things|strong="G3739" which|strong="G3739" we|strong="G3739" have|strong="G3361" wrought|strong="G2038", but|strong="G3361" that|strong="G2443" we|strong="G3739" receive a|strong="G3739" full|strong="G4134" reward|strong="G3408".
8 Acautelai-vos, para que não percais o fruto de nosso trabalho, mas antes possais receber plena recompensa.
9 Whosoever|strong="G3956" transgresseth and|strong="G2532" abideth|strong="G3306" not|strong="G3756" in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" teaching|strong="G1322" of|strong="G5207" Christ|strong="G5547", hath|strong="G2192" not|strong="G3756" God|strong="G2316": he|strong="G2532" that|strong="G3588" abideth|strong="G3306" in|strong="G1722" the|strong="G1722" teaching|strong="G1322" of|strong="G5207" Christ|strong="G5547", the|strong="G1722" same|strong="G3778" hath|strong="G2192" both|strong="G2532" the|strong="G1722" Father|strong="G3962" and|strong="G2532" the|strong="G1722" Son|strong="G5207".
9 Todo aquele que caminha sem rumo e não permanece na doutrina de Cristo, não tem Deus. Quem permanece na doutrina, este possui o Pai e o Filho.
10 If|strong="G1487" anyone|strong="G5100" cometh|strong="G2064" unto|strong="G4314" you|strong="G5210", and|strong="G2532" bringeth|strong="G3588" not|strong="G3756" this|strong="G3778" teaching|strong="G1322", receive|strong="G2983" him|strong="G3588" not|strong="G3756" into|strong="G1519" your house|strong="G3614", and|strong="G2532" give|strong="G3004" him|strong="G3588" no|strong="G3756" greeting|strong="G5463":
10 Se alguém vier a vós sem trazer esta doutrina, não o recebais em vossa casa, nem o saudeis.
11 for|strong="G1063" he|strong="G3588" that|strong="G3588" giveth him|strong="G3588" greeting|strong="G5463" partaketh in|strong="G3004" his|strong="G3588" evil|strong="G4190" works|strong="G2041".
11 Porque quem o saúda toma parte em suas obras más.
