1 When Iesus had spoken these wordes he wet forth with his disciples over the broke Cedron where was a garden into the which he entred with his disciples.
1 Tendo terminado de orar, Jesus saiu com os seus discípulos e atravessou o vale do Cedrom. Do outro lado havia um olival, onde entrou com eles.
2 Iudas also which betrayed him knewe the place: for Iesus ofte tymes resorted thyther with his disciples.
2 Ora, Judas, o traidor, conhecia aquele lugar, porque Jesus muitas vezes se reunira ali com os seus discípulos.
3 Iudas then after he had receaved abonde of men and ministres of the hye Prestes and Pharises came thyther with lanterns and fyerbrondes and wepens.
3 Então Judas foi para o olival, levando consigo um destacamento de soldados e alguns guardas enviados pelos chefes dos sacerdotes e fariseus, levando tochas, lanternas e armas.
4 Then Iesus knowynge all thinges that shuld come on him went forth and sayde vnto them: whom seke ye?
4 Jesus, sabendo tudo o que lhe ia acontecer, saiu e lhes perguntou: "A quem vocês estão procurando? "
5 They answered him: Iesus of Nazareth. Iesus sayde vnto them: I am he.
5 "A Jesus de Nazaré", responderam eles. "Sou eu", disse Jesus. ( E Judas, o traidor, estava com eles. )
6 Iudas also which betrayed him stode with them.
6 Quando Jesus disse: "Sou eu", eles recuaram e caíram por terra.
7 But assone as he had sayd vnto them I am he they went backe wardes and fell to the grounde.
7 Novamente lhes perguntou: "A quem procuram? " E eles disseram: "A Jesus de Nazaré".
8 And he axed the agayne: whome seke ye? They saydeIesus of Nazareth.
8 Respondeu Jesus: "Já lhes disse que sou eu. Se vocês estão me procurando, deixem ir embora estes homens".
9 Iesus answered I sayde vnto you I am he. If ye seke me let these goo their waye.
9 Isso aconteceu para que se cumprissem as palavras que ele dissera: "Não perdi nenhum dos que me deste".
10 That the sayinge might be fulfilled which he spake: of the which thou gavest me have I not lost one.
10 Simão Pedro, que trazia uma espada, tirou-a e feriu o servo do sumo sacerdote, decepando-lhe a orelha direita. ( O nome daquele servo era Malco. )
11 Simon Peter had a swearde and drue it and smote the hye prestes servaunt and cut of his ryght eare. The servauntes name was Malchas.
11 Jesus, porém, ordenou a Pedro: "Guarde a espada! Acaso não haverei de beber o cálice que o Pai me deu? "
12 Then sayde Iesus vnto Peter: put vp thy swearde into the sheath: shall I not drinke of the cup which my father hath geven me?
12 Assim, o destacamento de soldados com o seu comandante e os guardas dos judeus prenderam Jesus. Amarraram-no
13 Then the company and the captayne and the ministres of of the Iewes toke Iesus and bounde him
13 e o levaram primeiramente a Anás, que era sogro de Caifás, o sumo sacerdote naquele ano.
14 and led him awaye to Anna fyrst: For he was fatherelawe vnto Cayphas which was the hye preste that same yeare.
14 Caifás era quem tinha dito aos judeus que seria bom que um homem morresse pelo povo.
15 Cayphas was he that gave counsell to the Iewes that it was expediet that one man shuld dye for the people.
15 Simão Pedro e outro discípulo estavam seguindo Jesus. Por ser conhecido do sumo sacerdote, este discípulo entrou com Jesus no pátio da casa do sumo sacerdote,
16 And Simon Peter folowed Iesus and another disciple: that disciple was knowen of the hye preste and went in with Iesus into the pallys of the hye preste.
16 mas Pedro teve que ficar esperando do lado de fora da porta. O outro discípulo, que era conhecido do sumo sacerdote, voltou, falou com a moça encarregada da porta e fez Pedro entrar.
17 But Peter stode at the dore with out. Then went out that other disciple which was knowen vnto the hye preste and spake to the damsell that kept the dore and brought in Peter.
17 Ela então perguntou a Pedro: "Você não é um dos discípulos desse homem? " Ele respondeu: "Não sou".
18 Then sayde the damsell that kept the dore vnto Peter: Arte not thou one of this mannes disciples? He sayde: I am not.
18 Fazia frio; os servos e os guardas estavam ao redor de uma fogueira que haviam feito para se aquecerem. Pedro também estava em pé com eles, aquecendo-se.
19 The servauntes and the ministres stode there and had made a fyre of coles: for it was colde: and they warmed them selves. Peter also stode amonge them and warmed him selfe.
19 Enquanto isso, o sumo sacerdote interrogou Jesus acerca dos seus discípulos e dos seus ensinamentos.
20 The hye preste axed Iesus of his disciples and of his doctrine.
20 Respondeu-lhe Jesus: "Eu falei abertamente ao mundo; sempre ensinei nas sinagogas e no templo, onde todos os judeus se reúnem. Nada disse em segredo.
21 Iesus answered him: I spake openly in the worlde. I ever taught in the synagoge and in the temple whyther all the Iewes resorted and in secrete have I sayde nothynge:
21 Por que me interrogas? Pergunta aos que me ouviram. Certamente eles sabem o que eu disse".
22 Why axest thou me? Axe them whiche hearde me what I sayde vnto them. Beholde they can tell what I sayde.
22 Quando Jesus disse isso, um dos guardas que estava perto bateu-lhe no rosto. "Isso é jeito de responder ao sumo sacerdote? ", perguntou ele.
23 When he had thus spoken one of the ministres which stode by smote Iesus on the face sayinge: answerest thou the hyepreste so?
23 Respondeu Jesus: "Se eu disse algo de mal, denuncie o mal. Mas se falei a verdade, por que me bateu? "
24 Iesus answered him. If I have evyll spoke beare witnes of the evyll: yf I have well spoke why smytest thou me?
24 Então, Anás enviou Jesus, de mãos amarradas, a Caifás, o sumo sacerdote.
25 And Annas sent him bounde vnto Caiphas the hye preste.
25 Enquanto Simão Pedro estava se aquecendo, perguntaram-lhe: "Você não é um dos discípulos dele? " Ele negou, dizendo: "Não sou".
26 Simon Peter stode and warmed him selfe. And they sayde vnto him: arte not thou also one of his disciples? He denyed it and sayde: I am not.
26 Um dos servos do sumo sacerdote, parente do homem cuja orelha Pedro decepara, insistiu: "Eu não o vi com ele no olival? "
27 One of the servauntes of the hye preste (his cosyn whose eare Peter smote of) sayde vnto him: dyd not I se the in the garden with him?
27 Mais uma vez Pedro negou, e no mesmo instante um galo cantou.
28 Peter denyed it agayne: and immediatly the cocke crewe.
28 Em seguida, de Caifás os judeus levaram Jesus para o Pretório. Já estava amanhecendo e, para evitar contaminação cerimonial, os judeus não entraram no Pretório; pois queriam participar da Páscoa.
29 Then led they Iesus from Cayphas into the hall of iudgement. It was in the mornynge and they them selves went not into the iudgement hall lest they shuld be defyled but that they myght eate the paschall lambe.
29 Então Pilatos saiu para falar com eles e perguntou: "Que acusação vocês têm contra este homem? "
30 Pylate then went out vnto the and sayde: what accusacion bringe ye agaynste this man?
30 Responderam eles: "Se ele não fosse criminoso, não o teríamos entregado a ti".
31 They answered and sayd vnto him. If he were not an evyll doar we wolde not have delyvered him vnto the.
31 Pilatos disse: "Levem-no e julguem-no conforme a lei de vocês". "Mas nós não temos o direito de executar ninguém", protestaram os judeus.
32 Then sayd Pylate vnto the: take ye him and iudge him after youre awne lawe. Then the Iewes sayde vnto him. It is not lawfull for vs to put eny man to deeth.
32 Isso aconteceu para que se cumprissem as palavras que Jesus tinha dito, indicando a espécie de morte que ele estava para sofrer.
33 That the wordes of Iesus myght be fulfilled which he spake signifyinge what deeth he shuld dye.
33 Pilatos então voltou para o Pretório, chamou Jesus e lhe perguntou: "Você é o rei dos judeus? "
34 Then Pylate entred into the iudgement hall agayne and called Iesus and sayd vnto him: arte thou the kynge of the Iewes?
34 Perguntou-lhe Jesus: "Essa pergunta é tua, ou outros te falaram a meu respeito? "
35 Iesus answered: sayst thou that of thy selfe or dyd other tell it the of me: Pylate answered: Am I a Iewe? Thyne awne nacion and hye prestes have delyvered ye vnto me. What hast thou done?
35 Respondeu Pilatos: "Acaso sou judeu? Foram o seu povo e os chefes dos sacerdotes que entregaram você a mim. Que é que você fez? "
36 Iesus answered: my kyngdome is not of this worlde. Yf my kyngdome were of this worlde then wolde my ministres suerly fight that I shuld not be delyvered to the Iewes but now is my kyngdome not from hence.
36 Disse Jesus: "O meu Reino não é deste mundo. Se fosse, os meus servos lutariam para impedir que os judeus me prendessem. Mas agora o meu Reino não é daqui".
37 Pylate sayde vnto him: Arte thou a kynge then? Iesus answered: Thou sayst that I am a kynge. For this cause was I borne and for this cause came I into the worlde that I shuld beare witnes vnto the trueth. And all that are of the trueth heare my voyce.
37 "Então, você é rei! ", disse Pilatos. Jesus respondeu: "Tu dizes que sou rei. De fato, por esta razão nasci e para isto vim ao mundo: para testemunhar da verdade. Todos os que são da verdade me ouvem".
38 Pilate sayde vnto him: what thinge is trueth? And when he had sayd that he went out agayne vnto the Iewes and sayde vnto them: I fynde in him no cause at all.
38 "Que é a verdade? ", perguntou Pilatos. Ele disse isso e saiu novamente para onde estavam os judeus e disse: "Não acho nele motivo algum de acusação.
39 Ye have a custome that I shuld delyver you one lowsse at ester. Will ye that I lowse vnto you the kynge of the Iewes.
39 Contudo, segundo o costume de vocês, devo libertar um prisioneiro por ocasião da Páscoa. Querem que eu solte ‘o rei dos judeus’? "
40 Then cryed they all agayne sayinge: Not him but Barrabas that Barrabas was a robber.
40 Eles, em resposta, gritaram: "Não, ele não! Queremos Barrabás! " Ora, Barrabás era um bandido.
