1 And he sayd vnto his disciples: Let not youre hertes be troubled. Beleve in god and beleve in me.
1 Não se turbe o vosso coração; credes em Deus, crede também em mim.
2 In my fathers housse are many mansions. If it were not so I wolde have tolde you. I go to prepare a place for you.
2 Na casa de meu Pai há muitas mansões; se não fosse assim, eu vo-lo teria dito. Eu vou preparar-vos um lugar.
3 And yf I go to prepare a place for you I will come agayne and receave you even vnto my selfe that where I am there maye ye be also.
3 E quando eu for e vos preparar um lugar, eu voltarei novamente, e vos receberei para mim mesmo, para que, onde eu estou, ali possais estar vós também.
4 And whither I go ye knowe and the waye ye knowe.
4 E para onde eu vou vós sabeis, e o caminho vós conheceis.
5 Thomas sayde vnto him: Lorde we knowe not whyther thou goest. Also how is it possible for vs to knowe the waye?
5 Disse-lhe Tomé: Senhor, nós não sabemos para onde vais, e como nós podemos conhecer o caminho?
6 Iesus sayd vnto him: I am the waye the truthe and the life. And no man cometh vnto the father but by me.
6 Disse-lhe Jesus: Eu sou o caminho, a verdade, e a vida; ninguém vem ao Pai, senão por mim.
7 Yf ye had knowen me ye had knowen my father also. And now ye knowe him and have sene him.
7 Se vós me conhecêsseis, também conheceríeis a meu Pai; e desde agora o conheceis, e o tendes visto.
8 Philip sayd vnto him: Lorde shew vs the father and it suffiseth vs.
8 Disse-lhe Filipe: Senhor, mostra-nos o Pai, e isso nos é suficiente.
9 Iesus sayde vnto him: have I bene so longe tyme with you: and yet hast thou not knowen me? Philip he that hath sene me hath sene the father. And how sayest thou then: shew vs the father?
9 Disse-lhe Jesus: Há tanto tempo que estou convosco, e ainda não me conheces, Filipe? Quem tem visto a mim, tem visto o Pai, e como então tu dizes: Mostra-nos o Pai?
10 Belevest thou not that I am in the father and the father in me? The wordes that I speake vnto you I speakee not of my selfe: but the father that dwelleth in me is he that doeth the workes.
10 Não crês tu que eu estou no Pai, e que o Pai está em mim? As palavras que eu vos digo, não as digo de mim mesmo, mas o Pai, que permanece em mim, é quem faz as obras.
11 Beleve me that I am [in] the father and the father in me. At the leest beleve me for the very workes sake.
11 Crede-me que estou no Pai, e o Pai, em mim; ou senão, crede-me por causa das obras em si.
12 Verely verely I saye vnto you: he that beleveth on me the workes that I doo the same shall he do and greater workes then these shall he do because I go vnto my father.
12 Na verdade, na verdade eu vos digo: Aquele que crê em mim também fará as obras que eu faço, e fará maiores obras do que estas, porque eu vou para meu Pai.
13 And whatsoever ye axe in my name that will I do that the father might be glorified by the sonne.
13 E tudo quanto pedirdes em meu nome, eu o farei, para que o Pai possa ser glorificado no Filho.
14 Yf ye shall axe eny thige in my name I will do it
14 Se pedirdes alguma coisa em meu nome, eu o farei.
15 If ye love me kepe my comaundementes
15 Se vós me amais, guardai os meus mandamentos.
16 and I will praye the father and he shall geve you a nother comforter that he maye byde with you ever
16 E eu orarei ao Pai, e ele vos dará outro Consolador, para que ele possa habitar convosco para sempre,
17 which is the sprete of truthe whome the worlde cannot receave because the worlde seyth him not nether knoweth him. But ye knowe him. For he dwelleth with you and shalbe in you.
17 o Espírito da verdade, que o mundo não pode receber, porque não o vê, nem o conhece; mas vós o conheceis, porque ele habita convosco, e estará em vós.
18 I will not leave you comfortlesse: but will come vnto you.
18 Eu não vos deixarei sem consolo, eu voltarei para vós.
19 Yet a litell whyle and the worlde seith me no moare: but ye shall se me. For I live and ye shall live.
19 Ainda um pouco, e o mundo não me verá mais, mas vós me vereis; porque eu vivo, e vós vivereis também.
20 That daye shall ye knowe that I am in my father and you in me and I in you.
20 Naquele dia sabereis que eu estou no meu Pai, e vós em mim, e eu em vós.
21 He that hath my commaundementes and kepeth them the same is he that loveth me. And he that loveth me shall be loved of my father: and I will love him and will shewe myne awne selfe vnto him.
21 Aquele que tem os meus mandamentos e os guarda, esse é o que me ama; e aquele que me ama será amado de meu Pai, e eu o amarei, e me manifestarei a ele.
22 Iudas sayde vnto him (not Iudas Iscarioth) Lorde what is the cause that thou wilt shewe thy selfe vnto vs and not vnto the worlde?
22 Disse-lhe Judas, não o Iscariotes: Senhor, como é isto que te hás de manifestar a nós, e não ao mundo?
23 Iesus answered and sayde vnto him: yf a man love me and wyll kepe my sayinges my father also will love him and we will come vnto him and will dwelle with him.
23 Jesus respondeu e disse-lhe: Se alguém me ama, ele guardará as minhas palavras; e meu Pai o amará, e iremos a ele, e faremos nossa morada nele.
24 He that loveth me not kepeth not my sayinges. And the wordes which ye heare are not myne but the fathers which sent me.
24 Quem não me ama, não guarda as minhas palavras; e a palavra que ouvis não é minha, mas do Pai que me enviou.
25 This have I spoken vnto you beynge yet present with you.
25 Essas coisas vos tenho dito, estando ainda convosco.
26 But that comforter which is the holy gost (whom my father will sende in my name) he shall teache you all thinges and bringe all thinges to youre remembraunce whatsoever I have tolde you.
26 Mas o Consolador, que é o Espírito Santo, que o Pai enviará em meu nome, ele vos ensinará todas as coisas, e vos trará à lembrança todas as coisas, tudo quanto eu vos tenho dito.
27 Peace I leve with you my peace I geve vnto you. Not as the worlde geveth geve I vnto you. Let not youre hertes be greved nether feare ye.
27 Eu deixo-vos a paz, a minha paz eu vos dou; não a dou como o mundo a dá. Não se turbe o vosso coração, nem fiquem com medo.
28 Ye have hearde how I sayde vnto you: I go and come agayne vnto you. If ye loved me ye wolde verely reioyce because I sayde I go vnto the father.
28 Ouvistes o que eu vos disse: Eu vou e voltarei a vós. Se me amásseis, alegrar-vos-íeis por eu ter dito: Eu vou para o Pai, porque meu Pai é maior do que eu.
29 For the father is greater then I. And now have I shewed you before it come that when it is come to passe ye might beleve.
29 E agora eu vos digo antes que aconteça, para que, quando acontecer, vós possais crer.
30 Here after will I not talke many mordes vnto you. For the rular of this worlde commeth and hath nought in me.
30 Daqui em diante eu não falarei muito convosco, porque vem o príncipe deste mundo, e ele nada tem em mim.
31 But that the worlde maye knowe that I love the father: therfore as the father gave me commaundment even so do I. Ryse let vs go hence.
31 Mas para que o mundo possa saber que eu amo o Pai, e como o Pai me ordenou, desta forma eu o faço. Levantai-vos, vamo-nos daqui.
