1 O folisshe Galathyas: who hath bewitched you that ye shuld not beleve the trueth? To whom Iesus Christ was described before the eyes and amonge you crucified.
1 Ó gálatas insensatos! Quem os enfeitiçou? Não foi diante dos seus olhos que Jesus Cristo foi exposto como crucificado?
2 This only wolde I learne of you: receaved ye the sprete by the dedes of the lawe or els by preachinge of the faith?
2 Gostaria de saber apenas uma coisa: foi pela prática da lei que vocês receberam o Espírito, ou pela fé naquilo que ouviram?
3 Are ye so vnwyse that after ye have begonne in the sprete the wolde nowe ende in the flesshe?
3 Será que vocês são tão insensatos que, tendo começado pelo Espírito, querem agora se aperfeiçoar pelo esforço próprio?
4 So many thinges there ye have suffred in vayne if that be vayne.
4 Será que foi inútil sofrerem tantas coisas? Se é que foi inútil!
5 Which ministered to you the sprete and worketh myracles amonge you doth he it thorow the dedes of the lawe or by preachinge of the fayth?
5 Aquele que lhes dá o seu Espírito e opera milagres entre vocês, realiza essas coisas pela prática da lei ou pela fé com a qual receberam a palavra?
6 Even as Abraham beleved God and it was asscribed to him for rightewesnes.
6 Considerem o exemplo de Abraão: "Ele creu em Deus, e isso lhe foi creditado como justiça".
7 Vnderstonde therfore that they which are of fayth the same are the chyldren of Abraham.
7 Estejam certos, portanto, de que os que são da fé, estes é que são filhos de Abraão.
8 For the scripture sawe afore honde that God wolde iustifie the hethen thorow fayth and therfore shewed before honde glad tydinges vnto Abraham: In the shall all nacions be blessed.
8 Prevendo a Escritura que Deus justificaria pela fé os gentios, anunciou primeiro as boas novas a Abraão: "Por meio de você todas as nações serão abençoadas".
9 So then they which be of fayth are blessed with faythfull Abraham.
9 Assim, os que são da fé são abençoados juntamente com Abraão, homem de fé.
10 For as many as are vnder the dedes of the lawe are vnder malediccion. For it is written: cursed is every man that cotinueth not in all thinges which are writte in the boke of the lawe to fulfill them.
10 Já os que são pela prática da lei estão debaixo de maldição, pois está escrito: "Maldito todo aquele que não persiste em praticar todas as coisas escritas no livro da Lei".
11 That no man is iustified by the lawe in the sight of God is evidet. For the iuste shall live by fayth.
11 É evidente que diante de Deus ninguém é justificado pela lei, pois "o justo viverá pela fé".
12 The lawe is not of fayth: but the man that fulfilleth the thinges contayned in the lawe (shall live in the.)
12 A lei não é baseada na fé; pelo contrário, "quem praticar estas coisas, por elas viverá".
13 But Christ hath delivered vs from the curse of the lawe and was made a cursed for vs. For it is writte: cursed is every one that hangeth on tree
13 Cristo nos redimiu da maldição da lei quando se tornou maldição em nosso lugar, pois está escrito: "Maldito todo aquele que for pendurado num madeiro".
14 that the blessynge of Abraham might come on the getyls thorow Iesus Christ and that we might receave the promes of the sprete thorow fayth.
14 Isso para que em Cristo Jesus a bênção de Abraão chegasse também aos gentios, para que recebêssemos a promessa do Espírito mediante a fé.
15 Brethren I will speake after the maner of men. Though it be but a mans testament yet no man despiseth it or addeth eny thinge therto when it is once alowed.
15 Irmãos, humanamente falando, ninguém pode anular um testamento depois de ratificado, nem acrescentar-lhe algo.
16 To Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He sayth not in the seedes as in many: but in thy sede as in one which is Christ.
16 Assim também as promessas foram feitas a Abraão e ao seu descendente. A Escritura não diz: "E aos seus descendentes", como se falando de muitos, mas: "Ao seu descendente", dando a entender que se trata de um só, isto é, Cristo.
17 This I saye that the lawe which beganne afterwarde beyonde. iiii.C and. xxx. yeares doth not disanull the testament that was confermed afore of God vnto Christ ward to make the promes of none effect.
17 Quero dizer isto: A lei, que veio quatrocentos e trinta anos depois, não anula a aliança previamente estabelecida por Deus, de modo que venha a invalidar a promessa.
18 For yf the inheritaunce come of the lawe it cometh not of promes. But God gave it vnto Abraham by promes.
18 Pois, se a herança depende da lei, já não depende de promessa. Deus, porém, concedeu-a gratuitamente a Abraão mediante promessa.
19 Wherfore then serveth the lawe? The lawe was added because of transgression (tyll the seed cam to which the promes was made) and it was ordeyned by angels in the honde of a mediator.
19 Qual era então o propósito da lei? Foi acrescentada por causa das transgressões, até que viesse o Descendente a quem se referia a promessa, e foi promulgada por meio de anjos, pela mão de um mediador.
20 A mediator is not a mediator of one. But God is one.
20 Contudo, o mediador representa mais de um; Deus, porém, é um.
21 Ys the lawe then agaynst the promes of God? God forbid. How be it yf ther had bene a lawe geve which coulde have geven lyfe: then no doute rightewesnes shuld have come by the lawe.
21 Então, a lei opõe-se às promessas de Deus? De maneira nenhuma! Pois, se tivesse sido dada uma lei que pudesse conceder vida, certamente a justiça viria da lei.
22 But the scripture concluded all thinges vnder synne that the promes by the fayth of Iesus Christ shuld be geve vnto them that beleve.
22 Mas a Escritura encerrou tudo debaixo do pecado, a fim de que a promessa, que é pela fé em Jesus Cristo, fosse dada aos que crêem.
23 Before that fayth cam, we were kept and shut vp vnder the lawe, vnto the fayth which shuld afterwarde be declared.
23 Antes que viesse esta fé, estávamos sob a custódia da lei, nela encerrados, até que a fé que haveria de vir fosse revelada.
24 Wherfore the lawe was oure scolemaster vnto the tyme of Christ that we might be made rightewes by fayth.
24 Assim, a lei foi o nosso tutor até Cristo, para que fôssemos justificados pela fé.
25 But after that fayth is come now are we no lenger vnder a scolemaster.
25 Agora, porém, tendo chegado a fé, já não estamos mais sob o controle do tutor.
26 For ye are all the sonnes of God by the fayth which is in Christ Iesus.
26 Todos vocês são filhos de Deus mediante a fé em Cristo Jesus,
27 For all ye that are baptised have put on Christ.
27 pois os que em Cristo foram batizados, de Cristo se revestiram.
28 Now is ther no Iewe nether getyle: ther is nether bonde ner fre: ther is nether man ner woman: but ye are all one thinge in Christ Iesu.
28 Não há judeu nem grego, escravo nem livre, homem nem mulher; pois todos são um em Cristo Jesus.
29 Yf ye be Christes then are ye Abrahams seed and heyres by promes.
29 E, se vocês são de Cristo, são descendência de Abraão e herdeiros segundo a promessa.
