1 Of the tymes and seasons brethren ye have no nede that I write vnto you:
1 Irmãos, no que se refere aos tempos e às épocas, não há necessidade de que eu lhes escreva.
2 for ye youre selves knowe parfectly that the daye of the Lorde shall come even as a thefe in the nyght.
2 Porque vocês sabem perfeitamente que o Dia do Senhor vem como ladrão à noite.
3 When they shall saye peace and no daunger than commeth on the soden destruccion as the travalynge of a woman with childe and they shall not scape.
3 Quando andarem dizendo: “Paz e segurança”, eis que lhes sobrevirá repentina destruição, como vêm as dores de parto à mulher que está para dar à luz; e de modo nenhum escaparão.
4 But ye brethren are not in darcknes that that daye shuld come on you as it were a thefe.
4 Mas vocês, irmãos, não estão em trevas, para que esse Dia os apanhe de surpresa como ladrão.
5 Ye are all the children of light and the children of the daye. We are not of the nyght nether of darcknes.
5 Porque vocês todos são filhos da luz e filhos do dia; nós não somos da noite, nem das trevas.
6 Therfore let vs not slepe as do other: but let vs watch and be sober.
6 Assim, pois, não durmamos como os demais; pelo contrário, vigiemos e sejamos sóbrios.
7 For they that slepe slepe in the nyght: and they that be dronken are dronken in the nyght.
7 Ora, os que dormem é de noite que dormem, e os que se embriagam é de noite que se embriagam.
8 But let vs which are of the daye be sober armed with the brest plate of fayth and love and with hope of salvacion as an helmet.
8 Nós, porém, que somos do dia, sejamos sóbrios, revestindo-nos da couraça da fé e do amor e tomando como capacete a esperança da salvação.
9 For god hath not apoynted vs vnto wrath: but to obtayne salvacion by the meanes of oure lorde Iesu Christ
9 Porque Deus não nos destinou para a ira, mas para alcançar a salvação mediante nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo,
10 which died for vs: that whether we wake or slepe we shuld lyve togedder with him.
10 que morreu por nós para que, quer vigiemos, quer durmamos, vivamos em união com ele.
11 Wherfore comforte youre selves togedder and edifie one another even as ye do.
11 Portanto, consolem uns aos outros e edifiquem-se mutuamente, como vocês têm feito até agora.
12 We beseche you brethren that ye knowe them which laboure amonge you and have the oversight of you in the Lorde and geve you exhortacion
12 Irmãos, pedimos que vocês tenham em grande apreço os que trabalham entre vocês, que os presidem no Senhor e os admoestam.
13 that ye have them the more in love for their workes sake and be at peace with them.
13 Tenham essas pessoas em máxima consideração, com amor, por causa do trabalho que realizam. Vivam em paz uns com os outros.
14 We desyre you brethren warne them that are vnruly comforte the feble mynded forbeare the weake have continuall pacience towarde all men.
14 Também exortamos vocês, irmãos, a que admoestem os que vivem de forma desordenada, consolem os desanimados, amparem os fracos e sejam pacientes com todos.
15 Se that none recopence evill for evyll vnto eny man: but ever folowe that which is good both amonge youre selves and to all men.
15 Tenham cuidado para que ninguém retribua aos outros mal por mal; pelo contrário, procurem sempre o bem uns dos outros e o bem de todos.
16 Reioyce ever.
16 Estejam sempre alegres.
17 Praye continually.
17 Orem sem cessar.
18 In all thinges geve thankes. For this is the wyll of God in Christ Iesu towarde you.
18 Em tudo, deem graças, porque esta é a vontade de Deus para vocês em Cristo Jesus.
19 Quenche not the sprete.
19 Não apaguem o Espírito.
20 Despise not prophesyinge.
20 Não desprezem as profecias.
21 Examen all thinges and kepe that which is good.
21 Examinem todas as coisas, retenham o que é bom.
22 Abstayne from all suspicious thinges.
22 Abstenham-se de toda forma de mal.
23 The very God of peace sanctifie you thorow out. And I praye God that youre whole sprete soulse and body be kept fautlesse vnto the comynge of oure Lorde Iesus Christ
23 O mesmo Deus da paz os santifique em tudo. E que o espírito, a alma e o corpo de vocês sejam conservados íntegros e irrepreensíveis na vinda de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo.
24 Faythfull is he which called you: which will also do it.
24 Fiel é aquele que os chama, o qual também o fará.
25 Brethren praye for vs.
25 Irmãos, orem também por nós.
26 Grete all the brethren with an holy kysse.
26 Saúdem todos os irmãos com um beijo santo.
27 I charge you in the Lorde that this pistle be reed vnto all the holy brethren.
27 Peço, com insistência, em nome do Senhor, que esta carta seja lida para todos os irmãos.
28 The grace of the Lorde Iesus Christ be with you. Amen. ‘The fyrst pistle vnto the Tessalonyans sent from Athens.’
28 A graça de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo esteja com vocês!
