1 Now concerning the matters about which you wroteto me: “It is good for a man not to touch a woman.”
1 Ora, acerca das coisas que me escrevestes, bom seria que o homem não tocasse em mulher.
2 But because of the cases of fornication, each man should have his own wife, and each woman should have her own husband.
2 Ainda assim, para evitar fornicação, cada homem tenha a sua própria esposa, e cada mulher tenha o seu próprio marido.
3 The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband.
3 O marido cumpra sua obrigação conjugal para com a sua esposa, e da mesma forma também a mulher ao marido.
4 The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.
4 A esposa não tem poder sobre o seu próprio corpo, mas o marido; e também semelhante, o marido não tem poder sobre seu próprio corpo, mas a esposa.
5 Do not deprive one another, except by mutual consent for a time, so that you may devote yourselves tofasting andprayer and then come together again so that Satan may not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.
5 Não vos defraudeis um ao outro, exceto se com consentimento, por algum tempo, para que se deem ao jejum e oração; e ajuntai-vos novamente, para que Satanás não vos tente pela vossa falta de autocontrole.
6 Now I say this as a concession, not as a command.
6 Mas eu falo isto por permissão, e não como mandamento.
7 For I wish that all people were as I am. But each has his own gift from God, one personin this manner and another in that manner.
7 Porque eu gostaria que todos os homens fossem como eu. Mas cada homem tem o seu próprio dom de Deus, um de uma maneira, e outro de outra.
8 Now to the unmarried and the widows I say: It is good for them if they remain even as I am.
8 Eu digo, portanto, aos solteiros e às viúvas, que lhes é bom se permanecerem como eu.
9 But if they cannot exercise self-control, they should marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion.
9 Mas, se não podem conter-se, casem-se. Porque é melhor casar do que abrasar-se.
10 Now to the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband
10 E aos casados ordeno, não eu, mas o Senhor, que a mulher não se aparte do seu marido;
11 (but if she does separate, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband), and a husband must not divorce his wife.
11 mas, se apartar, que ela permaneça solteira, ou que se reconcilie com o seu marido; e o marido não deixe a sua esposa.
12 Now to the rest I say this (I, not the Lord): If any brother has an unbelieving wife, and she consents to dwell with him, he must not divorce her.
12 Mas aos restantes digo eu, não o Senhor: Se algum irmão tem esposa descrente, e ela consente em habitar com ele, não a abandone,
13 And if a woman has an unbelieving husband and he consents to dwell with her, she must not divorce him.
13 e a mulher que tem marido descrente, e ele consente em habitar com ela, não o abandone.
14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified throughher husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy.
14 Porque o marido descrente é santificado pela esposa, e a esposa descrente é santificada pelo marido. Do contrário, os vossos filhos seriam impuros; mas agora são santos.
15 But if the unbelieving spouse separates, let it be so. The brother or the sister is not enslaved in such cases. God has calledus to live in peace.
15 Mas, se o descrente se apartar, aparte-se; o irmão ou a irmã não está sob a servidão neste caso; mas Deus chamou-nos para a paz.
16 For how do yoʋ know, O wife, whether yoʋ will save yoʋr husband? Or how do yoʋ know, O husband, whether yoʋ will save yoʋr wife?
16 Porque, como sabes, ó esposa, se tu salvarás teu marido? Ou, como sabes, ó homem, se tu salvarás tua esposa?
17 Nevertheless, each person should live the life thatGod has assigned to him and to whichthe Lord has called him. This is the rule I lay down in all the churches.
17 Mas assim como Deus distribuiu a cada homem, como o Senhor chamou a cada um, assim ele ande. E assim eu ordeno em todas as igrejas.
18 Was any man already circumcised when he was called? He should not remove the marks of circumcision. Was any man uncircumcised when he was called? He should not become circumcised.
18 É algum homem chamado sendo circuncidado? Não se torne incircuncidado. É alguém chamado, estando incircuncidado? Não se torne circuncidado.
19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but what matters is keeping the commandments of God.
19 A circuncisão nada é, e também a incircuncisão nada é, mas sim a guarda dos mandamentos de Deus.
20 Each person should remain in the calling in which he was called.
20 Cada homem permaneça na vocação em que foi chamado.
21 Were yoʋ a slave when yoʋ were called? Do not be concerned about it, but if yoʋ are able to become free, make the most of the opportunity.
21 Foste chamado sendo servo? Não te preocupes, mas se tu podes chegar a ser livre, aproveite bastante.
22 For he who was called in the Lord as a slave is the Lord's freedman. In the same way, he who was called as a free man is Christ's slave.
22 Porque aquele que é chamado pelo Senhor, sendo servo, é homem livre do Senhor; e, semelhante também aquele que é chamado, sendo livre, é servo de Cristo.
23 You were bought with a price; do not become slaves of men.
23 Fostes comprados por um preço; não sejais servos dos homens.
24 Brothers, each person should remain with God in the condition in which he was called.
24 Irmãos, cada homem permaneça com Deus naquilo que foi chamado.
25 Now concerning virgins, I do not have a command from the Lord, but I give my judgment as one who has been shown mercy by the Lord to be trustworthy.
25 Ora, com relação às virgens, eu não tenho mandamento do Senhor; contudo, eu dou a minha opinião, como alguém que tem obtido misericórdia do Senhor para ser fiel.
26 I think it is good then, on account of the present distress, for a man to remain as he is.
26 Suponho, portanto, que isto é bom por causa da aflição presente, eu digo, que é bom para o homem estar assim.
27 Are yoʋ pledged to marry a woman? Do not seek to be released. Are yoʋ free from such a commitment? Do not seek a wife.
27 Estás ligado a uma esposa? Não busques desligar-te. Estás desligado de uma esposa? Não busques esposa.
28 But even if yoʋ do marry, yoʋ have not sinned. And if a virgin marries, she has not sinned. But those who marry will have tribulation in the flesh, and I am trying to spare you.
28 Mas, se casares, não pecas; e, se a virgem se casar, ela não peca. Porém, os tais terão tribulações na carne, e eu quisera poupar-vos.
29 But I say this, brothers: The time is short. From now on those who have wives should live as though they had none,
29 Mas isto eu vos digo, irmãos: O tempo é curto; o que importa é os que têm esposas sejam como se não tivessem nenhuma;
30 and those who weep as though they were not weeping, and those who rejoice as though they were not rejoicing, and those who buy as though they did not possess,
30 e os que choram, como se não chorassem; e os que se alegram, como se não se alegrassem; e os que compram, como se não possuíssem;
31 and those who usethis world as though they were not making full use of it. For the form of this world is passing away.
31 e os que usam deste mundo, como não abusassem dele, porque a moda deste mundo passa.
32 But I want you to be free from concern. The unmarried man is concerned about the affairs of the Lord, how hewill please the Lord.
32 Mas quero que estejais livres de preocupações. Aquele que é solteiro cuida das coisas que pertencem ao Senhor, e como ele pode agradar ao Senhor;
33 But the married man is concerned about the affairs of the world, how hewill please hiswife.
33 mas o que é casado cuida das coisas que são do mundo, em como ele pode agradar à sua esposa.
34 There is a difference betweena wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman is concerned about the affairs of the Lord, how she may be holy both in body and in spirit. But the married woman is concerned about the affairs of the world, how shewill please her husband.
34 Há diferença também entre a esposa e a virgem; a mulher solteira cuida das coisas do Senhor, para ela poder ser santa, tanto no corpo como no espírito; mas a que é casada cuida das coisas do mundo, em como ela pode agradar o seu marido.
35 I say this for your own benefit, not to lay any restraint upon you, but to promote proper behavior and devotion to the Lord without distraction.
35 E eu digo isso para o vosso proveito; não que eu lance um laço sobre vós, mas para o que é gracioso, para vos unirdes ao Senhor sem distração.
36 Now if any man thinks that he is acting improperly toward his virgin daughter by not letting her marry, if she is past the bloom of her youth and it seems necessary to do so, he should do what he wants. He is not sinning by letting her get married.
36 Mas, se algum homem pensa que ele trata sem decoro à sua virgem, se ela passar a flor da idade, e a necessidade o exigir, faça o que quiser; não peca; casem-se.
37 But the man who stands firm in his heart, who is under no compulsion but has control over his own will, and has determined in his heart to keep his virgin daughter from marrying,does well.
37 Todavia, aquele que está firme em seu coração, não tendo necessidade, mas tendo poder sobre a sua própria vontade, e assim decretou no seu coração, de guardar a sua virgindade, faz bem.
38 So then, he who givesher in marriage does well, but he who does not give her in marriagedoes better.
38 Assim, então, aquele que a dá em casamento faz bem; mas o que a não dá em casamento faz melhor.
39 A wife is boundby the law to her husband for as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is free to be married to anyone she wishes, but only in the Lord.
39 A esposa está ligada pela lei ao seu marido enquanto ele viver; mas, se o seu marido morrer, ela está livre para se casar com quem quiser, somente no Senhor.
40 Yet in my judgment she is happier if she remains as she is.And I think that I too have the Spirit of God.
40 Mas ela será mais feliz se permanecer assim, segundo a minha opinião, e penso também que eu tenho o Espírito de Deus.
