1 “A psalm of David, when he feigned himself mad before Abimelech, who drove him away, and he departed.” I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
1 De Davi. Quando simulou alienação na presença de Abimelec e, despedido por ele, partiu. Bendirei continuamente ao Senhor, seu louvor não deixará meus lábios.
2 In the LORD doth my soul boast; Let the afflicted hear, and rejoice!
2 Glorie-se a minha alma no Senhor; ouçam-me os humildes, e se alegrem.
3 O magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt his name together!
3 Glorificai comigo ao Senhor, juntos exaltemos o seu nome.
4 I sought the LORD, and he heard me, And delivered me from all my fears.
4 Procurei o Senhor e ele me atendeu, livrou-me de todos os temores.
5 Look up to him, and ye shall have light; Your faces shall never be ashamed.
5 Olhai para ele a fim de vos alegrardes, e não se cobrir de vergonha o vosso rosto.
6 This afflicted man cried, and the LORD heard, And saved him from all his troubles.
6 Vede, este miserável clamou e o Senhor o ouviu, de todas as angústias o livrou.
7 The angels of the LORD encamp around those who fear him, And deliver them.
7 O anjo do Senhor acampa em redor dos que o temem, e os salva.
8 O taste, and see how good is the LORD! Happy the man who trusteth in him!
8 Provai e vede como o Senhor é bom, feliz o homem que se refugia junto dele.
9 O fear the LORD, ye his servants! For to those who fear him there shall be no want.
9 Reverenciai o Senhor, vós, seus fiéis, porque nada falta àqueles que o temem.
10 Young lions want, and suffer hunger; But they who fear the LORD want no good thing.
10 Os poderosos empobrecem e passam fome, mas aos que buscam o Senhor nada lhes falta.
11 Come, ye children, hearken to me! I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
11 Vinde, meus filhos, ouvi-me: eu vos ensinarei o temor do Senhor.
12 Who is he that loveth life, And desireth many days, in which he may see good?
12 Qual é o homem que ama a vida, e deseja longos dias para gozar de felicidade?
13 Guard well thy tongue from evil, And thy lips from speaking guile!
13 Guarda tua língua do mal, e teus lábios das palavras enganosas.
14 Depart from evil, and do good; Seek peace, and pursue it!
14 Aparta-te do mal e faze o bem, busca a paz e vai ao seu encalço.
15 The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, And his ears are open to their cry.
15 Os olhos do Senhor estão voltados para os justos, e seus ouvidos atentos aos seus clamores.
16 But the face of the LORD is against evil-doers, To cut off their remembrance from the earth.
16 O Senhor volta a sua face irritada contra os que fazem o mal, para apagar da terra a lembrança deles.
17 The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, And delivereth them from all their troubles.
17 Apenas clamaram os justos, o Senhor os atendeu e os livrou de todas as suas angústias.
18 The LORD is near to them that are of a broken heart, And saveth such as are of a contrite spirit.
18 O Senhor está perto dos contritos de coração, e salva os que têm o espírito abatido.
19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous; But the LORD delivereth him from them all.
19 São numerosas as tribulações do justo, mas de todas o livra o Senhor.
20 He guardeth all his bones; Not one of them shall be broken.
20 Ele protege cada um de seus ossos, nem um só deles será quebrado.
21 Calamity destroyeth the wicked, And they who hate the righteous suffer for it.
21 A malícia do ímpio o leva à morte, e os que odeiam o justo serão castigados.
22 The LORD redeemeth the life of his servants, And none that put their trust in him will suffer for it.
22 O Senhor livra a alma de seus servos; não será punido quem a ele se acolhe.
