1 Blow ye the trumpet in Zion; Sound an alarm in my holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble! For the day of Jehovah cometh, for it is near!
1 Tocai a trombeta em Sião, e tocai o alarme no meu santo monte; tremam todos os habitantes da terra, porque o dia do SENHOR vem, e está próximo;
2 A day of darkness, and gloominess, A day of clouds, and thick darkness. As the morning light spreadeth itself upon the mountains, There cometh a numerous people and a strong; Like them there have been none of old time, And after them there shall not be, Even to the years of many generations.
2 Um dia de trevas e de escuridão; um dia de nuvens e densas trevas, como a manhã espalhada sobre os montes; um povo grande e forte, como nunca antes se viu nem jamais se verá depois destes, mesmo nos anos de muitas gerações.
3 A fire devoureth before them, And behind them a flame burneth; The land is as the garden of Eden before them. And behind them a desolate wilderness! Yea, nothing escapeth them.
3 Um fogo consome diante deles, e atrás deles uma chama queima; a terra é como o jardim do Éden diante deles, mas atrás deles um desolado deserto; sim, nada lhes escapará.
4 Their appearance is like the appearance of horses, And like horsemen do they run;
4 A sua aparência é como a aparência de cavalos; e como cavaleiros assim correm.
5 Like rattling chariots they leap on the tops of the mountains; Like the crackling flame of fire, which devoureth stubble; Like a mighty host set in battle array.
5 Como o barulho de carruagens sobre os cumes dos montes irão saltar, como o ruído da chama de fogo que devora o restolho, como um povo poderoso em posição de combate.
6 Before them the people tremble, And all faces gather blackness.
6 Diante da face deles o povo sentirá muita dor; todos os rostos se tornarão enegrecidos.
7 They run like mighty men; They climb the wall like warriors; They march every one on his way; They change not their paths.
7 Eles correrão como homens poderosos; subirão os muros como homens de guerra; e marchará cada um no seu caminho e não se desviará das suas fileiras.
8 One doth not thrust another; They march every one in his path, And though they rush among weapons, they are not wounded.
8 Ninguém empurrará o outro; andará cada um pelo seu caminho; e quando caírem sobre a espada, não serão feridos.
9 They run through the city; They run upon the wall; They go up into the houses; They enter in at the windows, like a thief.
9 Irão pela cidade, correrão pelos muros, subirão nas casas, entrarão pelas janelas como um ladrão.
10 The earth quaketh before them, And the heavens tremble; The sun and the moon are darkened, And the stars withdraw their shining.
10 A terra tremerá diante deles, os céus se abalarão, o sol e a lua se escurecerão, e as estrelas retirarão o seu brilho.
11 Jehovah uttereth his voice before his army; For very great is his host; Yea, it is mighty, executing his word; The day of Jehovah is great, and very terrible; Who shall be able to bear it?
11 E o SENHOR levantará a sua voz diante do seu exército; porque o seu campo é muitíssimo grande; pois ele é forte, e executa a sua palavra; porque o dia do SENHOR é grande e muito terrível, e quem o poderá suportar?
12 Yet even now, saith Jehovah, Turn ye to me with all your heart, With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning!
12 Portanto, agora, diz o SENHOR: Convertei-vos a mim de todo o vosso coração; e com jejum, e com choro, e com pranto.
13 And rend your hearts, and not your garments, And turn to Jehovah your God, For he is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and of great kindness, And repenteth of a threatened evil.
13 E rasgai o vosso coração, e não as vossas vestes, e convertei-vos ao SENHOR vosso Deus; pois ele é gracioso e misericordioso, tardio em irar-se, e grande em benignidade, e se arrepende do mal.
14 Who knoweth but he will turn and repent, And leave a blessing behind him, Even a flour-offering and a drink-offering for Jehovah your God.
14 Quem sabe se não retornará e se arrependerá, e deixará uma bênção após si, uma oferta de alimento e uma oferta de bebida para o SENHOR vosso Deus?
15 Blow ye the trumpet in Zion; Appoint yea fast; proclaim a solemn assembly!
15 Tocai a trombeta em Sião, santificai um jejum, convocai uma assembleia solene.
16 Gather the people; appoint a congregation; Assemble the elders; Gather the children and the sucklings! Let the bridegroom come forth from his chamber, And the bride from her nuptial bed!
16 Reuni o povo, santificai a congregação, ajuntai os anciãos, congregai as crianças, e os que mamam os seios; saia o noivo de sua câmara, e a noiva do seu recinto.
17 Let the priests, the servants of Jehovah, Weep between the porch and the altar, And say, Spare thy people, O Jehovah, And give not thine inheritance to reproach, And to be a by-word to the nations! Why should they say among the nations, Where is their God?
17 Chorem os sacerdotes, ministros do SENHOR, entre o alpendre e o altar, e digam: Poupa teu povo, ó SENHOR, e não entregues a tua herança ao opróbrio, para que os gentios o governem; por que diriam entre os povos: Onde está o seu Deus?
18 Then will Jehovah be zealous for his land, And have compassion on his people,
18 Então, o SENHOR se mostrará zeloso da sua terra, e se compadecerá de seu povo.
19 Yea, Jehovah will answer, and say to his people, Behold, I will send you corn, And new wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied therewith; And I will no more make you a reproach among the nations.
19 Sim o SENHOR responderá, e dirá ao seu povo: Eis que vos enviarei o trigo, e o vinho, e o azeite, e sereis fartos deles, e não mais fareis de vós opróbrio entre os gentios.
20 I will remove far from you the northern host, And I will drive it into a dry and desolate land; Its van toward the Eastern sea, And its rear toward the Western sea. And its scent shall come up, And its ill savor shall come up, Because it hath done great things.
20 Mas removerei para longe de vós o exército do norte, e o lançarei em uma terra estéril e desolada; com a sua frente para o mar oriental, e a sua retaguarda para o mar ocidental; e o seu mau cheiro subirá, e também a sua podridão; porque ele fez grandes coisas.
21 Fear not, O land, exult and rejoice, For Jehovah hath done great things!
21 Não temas, ó terra: Regozija-te e alegra-te, porque o SENHOR fará grandes coisas.
22 Fear not, O ye beasts of the field, For the pastures of the desert spring up, For the tree beareth its fruit; The fig-tree and the vine yield their strength!
22 Não temais, animais do campo, porque os pastos do deserto reverdecerão, porque a árvore dará o seu fruto, a figueira e a videira darão a sua força.
23 And, O ye sons of Zion, exult, And rejoice in Jehovah your God! For he giveth you the former rain in just measure, And causeth showers to come down upon you, Even the former rain, and the latter rain, as aforetime.
23 Então, alegrai-vos filhos de Sião, e regozijai-vos no SENHOR vosso Deus, porque Ele vos dará a chuva temporã moderadamente; ele fará descer, para vós, a chuva, a temporã e a serôdia, no primeiro mês.
24 And the threshing-floors shall be full of wheat, And the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil.
24 E as eiras se encherão de trigo, e os lagares transbordarão de vinho e azeite.
25 And I will restore to you the years Which the swarming-locust hath eaten, The licking-locust, the consuming-locust, and the gnawing-locusts, My great army, which I sent among you.
25 E restituirei a vós os anos que a locusta comeu, a lagarta verde, e a lagarta de borboleta e a taturana, o meu grande exército que enviei contra vós.
26 Ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, And praise the name of Jehovah your God, Who hath dealt wondrously with you; And my people shall never be put to shame.
26 E comereis abundantemente e vos satisfareis, e louvareis o nome do SENHOR vosso Deus, que procedeu maravilhosamente para convosco; e o meu povo nunca mais será envergonhado.
27 Ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, And that I am Jehovah, your God, and none else; And my people shall never be put to shame.
27 E vós sabereis que eu estou no meio de Israel, e que eu sou o SENHOR vosso Deus, e ninguém mais; e o meu povo nunca mais será envergonhado.
28 And it shall come to pass afterward, That I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy; Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions.
28 E acontecerá que, depois derramarei o meu Espírito sobre toda a carne, e vossos filhos e vossas filhas profetizarão, os vossos velhos sonharão sonhos, e vossos jovens verão visões.
29 Upon the men-servants also, and upon the handmaids, Will I pour out my spirit in those days.
29 E também sobre os servos e sobre as servas naqueles dias derramarei o meu Espírito.
30 And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth; Blood and fire, and pillars of smoke.
30 E mostrarei maravilhas no céu e na terra, sangue e fogo, e pilares de fumaça.
31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the day of Jehovah cometh, The great and the terrible day. Then whoever calleth on the name of Jehovah shall be delivered;
31 O sol se converterá em trevas, e a lua em sangue, antes que venha o grande e terrível dia do SENHOR.
32 For upon mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, shall be deliverance, As Jehovah hath spoken; And among the remnant, whom Jehovah shall call.
32 E acontecerá que, todo aquele que invocar o nome do SENHOR será salvo; porque no monte Sião e em Jerusalém haverá livramento, assim como disse o SENHOR, e entre os remanescentes, aqueles que o SENHOR irá chamar.
