1 And the word of Jehovah came to me, saying:
1 A palavra do Senhor foi-me dirigida nestes termos:
2 Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations,
2 filho do homem, mostra a Jerusalém os seus crimes abomináveis.
3 and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah to Jerusalem: Thine origin and thy nativity were of the land of Canaan. Thy father was an Amorite, and thy mother a Hittite.
3 Dir-lhe-ás: eis o que diz o Senhor Javé a respeito de Jerusalém: por tua origem e nascimento, pertences à terra de Canaã; teu pai foi um amorreu e tua mãe, uma hitita.
4 And as to thy nativity, in the day thou wast born thy navel was not cut, neither wast thou washed in water so as to be cleansed. Thou wast not sprinkled with salt, nor wrapped in swaddling-clothes.
4 No dia do teu nascimento, teu cordão umbilical não foi cortado; não te banharam com água para te purificar, não te untaram com sal, nem te enfaixaram.
5 No eye pitied thee, to do to thee any of these things, to have compassion upon thee; but thou wast cast out into the open field, so as to loathe thyself, on the day thou wast born.
5 Ninguém se inclinou sobre ti para te prestar algum piedoso cuidado. No dia em que nasceste foste exposta em meio das campinas; só havia infortúnio para ti.
6 And when I passed by thee, and saw thee in danger of being trodden under foot in thy blood, I said to thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live! yea, I said to thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live!
6 Passei junto de ti e te percebi banhada em teu sangue. Eu te gritei: vive {malgrado o teu sangue}, vive {malgrado o teu sangue},
7 I caused thee to increase like the plant of the field, and thou didst grow, and become tall, and didst attain to distinguished charms. Thy breasts swelled, and thy hair grew, whereas thou wast naked and bare.
7 e eu te fiz multiplicar como a erva dos prados. Cresceste. Ficaste moça. Teus seios se formaram, veio-te o pêlo. Mas estavas nua, inteiramente nua.
8 And when I passed by thee, and saw thee, behold, it was thy time, the time of love. And I spread my skirt over thee and covered thy nakedness; and I swore to thee, and entered into covenant with thee, and thou becamest mine.
8 Passando junto de ti, verifiquei que já havia chegado o teu tempo, o tempo dos amores. Estendi sobre ti o pano do meu manto, cobri tua nudez; depois fiz contigo uma aliança ligando-me a ti pelo juramento - oráculo do Senhor Javé - e tu me pertenceste.
9 Then I washed thee with water, yea, I thoroughly washed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oil.
9 Então eu te mergulhei na água para limpar o sangue de que estavas coberta, e te ungi com óleo.
10 I clothed thee also with broidered work, and gave thee shoes of seal's skin, and wrapped thee about with fine linen, and covered thee with silk.
10 Eu te vesti de tecidos bordados, calcei-te com sapatos de pele de golfinho, cingi-te com um cinto de fino linho e um véu de seda.
11 And I decked thee with ornaments, and put bracelets upon thy hands, and a chain upon thy neck.
11 Ornei-te de adornos: braceletes nos teus pulsos, colares em teu pescoço,
12 And I put a jewel in thy nostril, and ear-rings in thine ears, and a beautiful crown upon thy head.
12 um anel para o teu nariz, brincos para tuas orelhas, uma coroa magnífica para tua cabeça.
13 Thus wast thou adorned with gold and silver, and thy raiment was of fine linen, and silk, and broidered work. Fine flour and honey and oil didst thou eat; and thou wast exceedingly beautiful, and didst prosper so as to become a queen.
13 Teus ornatos eram de ouro, prata, com vestimentas de linho fino, de seda e panos bordados; teu alimento era trigo, mel e óleo. Cada vez mais bela, chegaste à dignidade real.
14 And thy renown went forth among the nations for thy beauty; for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord Jehovah.
14 A reputação da tua beleza correu entre as nações, pois essa beleza era perfeita, graças ao esplendor que te havia eu preparado - oráculo do Senhor Javé.
15 But thou didst trust in thy beauty, and didst play the harlot because of thy renown, and didst lavish thy fornications on every one that passed by; his was it.
15 Tu, porém, te fiaste na beleza, aproveitaste da tua fama para te prostituíres e ofereceste a tua sensualidade a todo transeunte, a quem te entregaste.
16 And of thy garments thou didst take, and didst make thee high places, spread with divers colors, and didst play the harlot thereon, the like things to which shall not come to pass, neither shall they be.
16 Tomaste tuas vestimentas para delas fazeres lugares altos para ti, ornados de panos de variegadas cores, e te deste à depravação, o que jamais deveria ter sucedido, e que te não sucederá jamais.
17 Thou didst take also thy fair jewels of my gold and my silver, which I gave thee, and didst make to thyself images of men, and didst commit fornication with them;
17 Tomaste as esplêndidas jóias feitas com o meu ouro e minha prata, jóias que eu te havia doado, e fabricaste com elas imagens humanas, com que te prostituíste,
18 and thou didst take thy broidered garments and cover them; and thou didst set mine oil and mine incense before them.
18 cobriste-as com as tuas próprias vestes bordadas, e lhes ofereceste o meu óleo e os meus aromas.
19 My food also, which I gave thee, fine flour and oil and honey, wherewith I fed thee, thou didst set it before them with a sweet savor; even thus it was, saith the Lord Jehovah.
19 O pão que eu te havia dado, a flor da farinha, o óleo e o mel com que te nutrias, deste-os em oferenda de agradável odor. Eis o que tens feito - oráculo do Senhor Javé.
20 Moreover thou didst take thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou didst bear to me, and these didst thou sacrifice to them to be devoured. Was it not enough for thee to commit fornication,
20 Depois tomaste os teus filhos e tuas filhas, que para mim deste à luz e os ofereceste a eles para sua nutrição. Por acaso são poucas as tuas prostituições?
21 that thou didst slay my children, and deliver them up to cause them to pass through the fire to them?
21 Degolaste os meus filhos e os fizeste passar pelo fogo em sua honra.
22 And in all thine abominations and thy fornications, thou didst not remember the days of thy youth, when thou wast naked and bare, and in danger of being trampled under foot in thy blood.
22 Em meio a todas essas depravações abomináveis, não te lembraste do tempo de tua juventude, quando estavas toda nua e te rolavas em teu sangue.
23 And it came to pass, after all thy wickedness, (woe, woe to thee! saith the Lord Jehovah,)
23 Para cúmulo de todas essas maldades - Ai! Ai de ti! Oráculo do Senhor -,
24 that thou didst build for thee an arched place, and make thee a high place in every street;
24 edificaste uma colina, um lugar alto em todas as encruzilhadas.
25 at every head of the way didst thou build thy high place, and didst make thy beauty to be abhorred, and didst open thy feet to every one that passed by, and didst multiply thy fornications.
25 À entrada de cada rua erigiste um lugar alto, e desonraste a tua beleza, dando teu corpo a todos os que vinham, multiplicando as tuas depravações.
26 Thou hast also committed fornication with the Egyptians, thy neighbors, having great members, and hast multiplied thy fornications to provoke me to anger.
26 Tu te prostituíste com os egípcios, teus vizinhos de corpos vigorosos, e multiplicaste as prostituições para me irritar.
27 Therefore, behold, I have stretched out my hand against thee, and have diminished thine allowance, and delivered thee to the will of them that hate thee, the daughters of the Philistines, who are ashamed of thy lewd way.
27 Mas eu estendi a mão contra ti; reduzi a tua porção, deixei-te à mercê das tuas inimigas, as filhas dos filisteus, envergonhadas elas próprias do teu infame proceder.
28 Thou hast also committed fornication with the Assyrians, because thou wast insatiable; yea, thou hast played the harlot with them, and yet couldst not be satisfied.
28 Tu te prostituíste também com os assírios, porque não estavas satisfeita, e ainda assim não te deste por saciada;
29 Thou hast also multiplied thy fornication with the land of Canaan, even to Chaldaea; and yet wast thou not satisfied therewith.
29 multiplicaste as tuas depravações no país dos mercadores, entre os caldeus, sem que, contudo, te tenhas fartado.
30 How faint was thy heart, saith the Lord Jehovah, that thou didst all those things which an imperious whorish wife doeth,
30 Como é frouxo o teu coração - oráculo do Senhor Javé -, para teres tido ali o comportamento de uma prostituta,
31 in that thou didst build thine arched place at the head of every way, and make thy high place in every street! Thou wast not like a harlot, who scoffeth at her hire,
31 por teres construído um montículo em todas as encruzilhadas, e um lugar alto à entrada de todas as ruas, sem mesmo procurar um salário como meretriz.
32 but as an adulterous wife, that taketh strangers instead of her husband.
32 Tens sido mulher adúltera que acolhe os estranhos em lugar do esposo.
33 To all women that commit fornication men give a reward; but thou gavest thy gifts to all thy lovers, and hiredst them to come to thee from every side to commit fornication with thee.
33 A todas as prostitutas se dão presentes, mas tu fizeste brindes a todos os teus amantes, procedeste com largueza para que de todos os lados viessem prostituir-se contigo.
34 Thou wast the reverse of other women in thy fornications. None followed after thee to commit fornication, but thou gavest the reward, and no reward was given thee,—therefore thou wast the reverse.
34 Tens sido o avesso das outras mulheres em tuas depravações: não te procuravam; eras tu que pagavas ao invés de receber, fazendo tudo ao contrário do que fazem as outras.
35 Wherefore, O harlot, hear the word of Jehovah!
35 Em vista de tudo isto, luxuriosa, escuta o que diz o Senhor:
36 Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because thy treasure was poured out, and thy nakedness discovered for fornication before thy lovers, and all thine abominable idols, and because of the blood of thy children, which thou didst give to them,
36 eis o que diz o Senhor Javé: por tua prata dilapidada, por tua nudez descoberta no decurso de tuas prostituições com os teus amantes e com os teus ídolos abomináveis, pelo sangue de teus filhos que lhes deste,
37 therefore, behold, I will gather all thy lovers, to whom thou wast pleasing, all them that thou hast loved, with all them that thou hast hated, I will gather them against thee round about, and will uncover thy nakedness to them, that they may see all thy nakedness.
37 vou reunir todos os teus amantes com aquele a quem juraste amor, todos quantos amaste e todos que detestas-te, vou reuni-los contra ti de todos os lados, e perante eles descobrirei a tua nudez, a fim de que te contemplem totalmente.
38 And I will judge thee as women that break wedlock and shed blood are judged, and I will cause thy blood to flow in fury and jealousy.
38 Eu infligirei o castigo às adúlteras e às criminosas, e contra ti desencadearei meu furor e meus ciúmes.
39 And I will give thee into their hand, and they shall throw down thine arched place, and break down thy high places. They shall also strip thee of thy clothes, and leave thee naked and bare.
39 Entregar-te-ei nas suas mãos; eles demolirão o teu montículo, abaterão o teu lugar alto; despojar-te-ão dos teus vestidos; levarão os teus ornatos e te deixarão nua e despojada.
40 They shall also bring up a company against thee, and they shall stone thee with stones, and thrust thee through with their swords;
40 Em seguida sublevarão contra ti a multidão: serás apedrejada e perecerás pela espada;
41 and they shall burn thine houses with fire, and execute judgments upon thee in the sight of many women; and I will cause thee to cease from playing the harlot, and thou shalt give hire no more.
41 atearão fogo à tua casa e se fará juízo contra ti, aos olhos de uma multidão de mulheres; porei fim às tuas prostituições e não terás mais salário a dar.
42 So will I make my fury toward thee to rest, and my jealousy shall depart from thee; and I will be quiet, and will be no more angry.
42 Saciarei o meu furor contra ti e, quando tiveres deixado de ser objeto do meu zelo, eu me acalmarei, e minha cólera terminará.
43 Because thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, but hast raged against me in all these things, therefore I also will recompense thy way upon thy head, saith the Lord Jehovah, so that thou shalt not commit this wickedness in addition to all thy abominations.
43 Porque não te lembraste do tempo da tua mocidade, e tudo isso fizeste com o fito de provocar-me, vou fazer cair sobre tua cabeça o peso de teu proceder - oráculo do Senhor Javé -, a fim de que não ajuntes novos crimes às tuas abominações.
44 Behold, all they that use proverbs shall utter this proverb concerning thee: “As the mother, so the daughter.”
44 Todos os amigos de provérbios dirão a teu respeito: tal mãe, tal filha.
45 Thou art the daughter of thy mother, that loathed her husband and her children; and thou art the sister of thy sisters, that loathed their husbands and their children; your mother was a Hittite, and your father an Amorite.
45 De fato és bem filha de tua mãe, que tomou aversão a seu marido e a seus filhos; és bem irmã de tuas irmãs, que tomaram aversão a seus maridos e a seus filhos. Tua mãe era uma hitita e teu pai, um amorreu.
46 And thine elder sister is Samaria, with her daughters, that dwelleth at thy left hand; and thy younger sister, that dwelleth at thy right hand, is Sodom, with her daughters.
46 Tua irmã mais velha é Samaria, que habita à esquerda com suas filhas; tua irmã mais moça é Sodoma, que habita com suas filhas à tua direita.
47 Yet thou hast not walked in their ways, nor done according to their abominations: that was disdained by you, as a very little thing; thou hast been more corrupt than they in all thy ways.
47 Ainda não estavas contente em seguir seu passo e em imitar seus horrores; era pouco! Foste mais longe que elas na corrupção.
48 As I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, Sodom, thy sister, hath not done, she nor her daughters, as thou hast done, thou and thy daughters.
48 Por minha vida - oráculo do Senhor Javé -, tua irmã Sodoma e suas filhas não fizeram o que fizeste tu e tuas filhas.
49 Behold, this was the iniquity of Sodom, thy sister: in pride, superabundance, and careless ease did she live, she and her daughters, and the hand of the poor and needy she did not strengthen;
49 O crime da tua irmã Sodoma era este: opulência, glutoneria, indolência, ociosidade; eis como vivia ela, assim como suas filhas, sem tomar pela mão o miserável e o indigente.
50 and they were haughty, and committed abomination before me; therefore I took them away when I saw it.
50 Tornaram-se arrogantes e, sob os meus olhos, se entregaram à abominação; por isso eu as fiz desaparecer, como viste.
51 Neither hath Samaria committed half of thy sins; but thou hast multiplied thine abominations more than they, and hast justified thy sisters in all thine abominations which thou hast done.
51 Quanto à Samaria, não cometeu ela a metade dos teus pecados, porque multiplicaste os teus crimes além dos seus e, por todas essas perversidades que cometeste, justificaste as tuas irmãs.
52 Now, therefore, bear thou thy shame, to which thou hast condemned thy sisters, since by thy sins which thou hast committed, more abominable than they, they are more righteous than thou. Yea, be thou confounded and bear thy shame, in that thou hast justified thy sisters.
52 Carrega, pois, também tu, a vergonha das faltas pelas quais tu as justificaste graças a teus pecados, cuja malvadez superou a dos delas, afiguram-se elas mais justas que tu. De tua parte, carrega a vergonha e suporta a tua ignomínia, pois até fazes parecerem justas as tuas irmãs.
53 Yet I will bring them back from their captivity, even Sodom and her daughters from their captivity, and Samaria and her daughters from their captivity; thee also will I bring back from thy captivity in the midst of them;
53 No tempo em que eu as tiver restaurado, Sodoma e suas filhas, Samaria e suas filhas, eu te restaurarei entre elas,
54 that thou mayst bear thy shame, and mayst be confounded on account of all which thou hast done, in that thou art a comfort to them.
54 a fim de que carregues o teu opróbrio e sejas tu confundida por tudo quanto fizeste para seu conforto.
55 And thy sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former estate, and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former estate, and thou and thy daughters shall return to your former estate.
55 Tua irmã Sodoma e suas filhas retornarão a seu primitivo estado, Samaria e suas filhas igualmente; e tu também, com tuas filhas, voltareis à vossa antiga situação.
56 And yet Sodom, thy sister, was not mentioned by thy mouth in the day of thy pride
56 Ao tempo do teu orgulho, o nome de tua irmã Sodoma não era famoso em tua boca,
57 before thy wickedness was discovered, as in the time of thy reproach from the daughters of Syria, and from all that were round about her, and from the daughters of the Philistines, who despised thee round about.
57 antes que houvesse sido patenteada a tua perversidade, como no tempo em que recebias os ultrajes das filhas da Síria e de suas vizinhas, das filhas dos filisteus que de toda parte te insultavam.
58 Thy wickedness and thine abominations must thou now bear, saith the Lord Jehovah.
58 Eis-te carregada do peso dos teus crimes e das tuas abominações - oráculo do Senhor.
59 For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will do to thee as thou hast done, who hast despised the oath and hast broken the covenant.
59 Pois eis o que diz o Senhor Javé: eu farei a ti conforme fizeste tu, que desprezaste a tua origem violando o pacto.
60 But I will remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish with thee an everlasting covenant.
60 Mas eu me recordarei da aliança que contigo celebrei no tempo de tua juventude, e farei contigo uma eterna aliança.
61 Then shalt thou remember thy ways, and be ashamed, when thou shalt receive thy sisters, thine elder and thy younger, and I shall give them to thee for daughters, but not by thy observance of thy covenant.
61 Então te lembrarás de teu procedimento, e terás vergonha disso, quando eu tomar tuas irmãs mais velhas, juntamente com as mais novas, e tas der por filhas, mas isso não em virtude de tua aliança.
62 But I will establish my covenant with thee, and thou shalt know that I am Jehovah;
62 Sou eu que hei de restabelecer a minha aliança contigo, e tu saberás que sou eu o Senhor,
63 that thou mayst remember and be confounded, and not open thy mouth any more for shame, when I forgive thee all which thou hast done, saith the Lord Jehovah.
63 a fim de que te recordes {do passado} e te envergonhes, e que, em tua vergonha, não tenhas mais a audácia de abrir a boca, quando eu houver perdoado os teus delitos, - oráculo do Senhor Javé.
