1 What|strong="G5101" shall we say|strong="G2046" then|strong="G3767"? Shall we continue|strong="G1961" in sin|strong="G0266", that|strong="G2443" grace|strong="G5485" may abound|strong="G4121"?
2 God forbid|strong="G1096". How|strong="G4459" shall we|strong="G2198", that|strong="G3748" are dead|strong="G0599" to sin|strong="G0266", live|strong="G2198" any longer|strong="G2089" therein|strong="G0846"?
3 Know ye not|strong="G0050", that|strong="G3754" so many of us as|strong="G3745" were baptized|strong="G0907" into|strong="G1519" Jesus|strong="G2424" Christ|strong="G5547" were baptized|strong="G0907" into|strong="G1519" his|strong="G0846" death|strong="G2288"?
4 Therefore|strong="G3767" we are buried with|strong="G4916" him|strong="G0846" by|strong="G1223" baptism|strong="G0908" into|strong="G1519" death|strong="G2288": that|strong="G2443" like as|strong="G5618" Christ|strong="G5547" was raised up|strong="G1453" from|strong="G1537" the dead|strong="G3498" by|strong="G1223" the glory|strong="G1391" of the Father|strong="G3962", even so|strong="G3779" we|strong="G2249" also|strong="G2532" should walk|strong="G4043" in|strong="G1722" newness|strong="G2538" of life|strong="G2222".
5 For|strong="G1063" if|strong="G1487" we have been|strong="G1096" planted together|strong="G4854" in the likeness|strong="G3667" of his|strong="G0846" death|strong="G2288", we shall be|strong="G2071" also|strong="G2532" in the likeness of his resurrection|strong="G0386":
6 Knowing|strong="G1097" this|strong="G5124", that|strong="G3754" our|strong="G2257" old|strong="G3820" man|strong="G0444" is crucified with|strong="G4957" him, that|strong="G2443" the body|strong="G4983" of sin|strong="G0266" might be destroyed|strong="G2673", that|strong="G3588" henceforth|strong="G3371" we|strong="G2248" should|strong="G1398" not|strong="G3371" serve|strong="G1398" sin|strong="G0266".
7 For|strong="G1063" he that is dead|strong="G0599" is freed|strong="G1344" from|strong="G0575" sin|strong="G0266".
8 Now|strong="G1161" if|strong="G1487" we be dead|strong="G0599" with|strong="G4862" Christ|strong="G5547", we believe|strong="G4100" that|strong="G3754" we shall|strong="G4800" also|strong="G2532" live with|strong="G4800" him|strong="G0846":
9 Knowing|strong="G1492" that|strong="G3754" Christ|strong="G5547" being raised|strong="G1453" from|strong="G1537" the dead|strong="G3498" dieth|strong="G0599" no more|strong="G3765"; death|strong="G2288" hath|strong="G2961" no more|strong="G3765" dominion|strong="G2961" over him|strong="G0846".
10 For|strong="G1063" in that|strong="G3739" he died|strong="G0599", he died|strong="G0599" unto sin|strong="G0266" once|strong="G2178": but|strong="G1161" in that|strong="G3739" he liveth|strong="G2198", he liveth|strong="G2198" unto God|strong="G2316".
11 Likewise|strong="G3779" reckon|strong="G3049" ye|strong="G5210" also|strong="G2532" yourselves|strong="G1438" to be|strong="G1511" dead|strong="G3498" indeed|strong="G3303" unto sin|strong="G0266", but|strong="G1161" alive|strong="G2198" unto God|strong="G2316" through|strong="G1722" Jesus|strong="G2424" Christ|strong="G5547" our|strong="G2257" Lord|strong="G2962".
12 Let|strong="G0936" not|strong="G3361" sin|strong="G0266" therefore|strong="G3767" reign|strong="G0936" in|strong="G1722" your|strong="G5216" mortal|strong="G2349" body|strong="G4983", that ye should|strong="G1519" obey|strong="G5219" it|strong="G0846" in|strong="G1722" the lusts|strong="G1939" thereof|strong="G0846".
13 Neither|strong="G3366" yield ye|strong="G3936" your|strong="G5216" members|strong="G3196" as instruments|strong="G3696" of unrighteousness|strong="G0093" unto sin|strong="G0266": but|strong="G0235" yield|strong="G3936" yourselves|strong="G1438" unto God|strong="G2316", as|strong="G5613" those that are alive|strong="G2198" from|strong="G1537" the dead|strong="G3498", and|strong="G2532" your|strong="G5216" members|strong="G3196" as instruments|strong="G3696" of righteousness|strong="G1343" unto God|strong="G2316".
14 For|strong="G1063" sin|strong="G0266" shall|strong="G2961" not|strong="G3756" have dominion over|strong="G2961" you|strong="G5216": for|strong="G1063" ye are|strong="G2075" not|strong="G3756" under|strong="G5259" the law|strong="G3551", but|strong="G0235" under|strong="G5259" grace|strong="G5485".
15 What|strong="G5101" then|strong="G3767"? shall we sin|strong="G0264", because|strong="G3754" we are|strong="G2070" not|strong="G3756" under|strong="G5259" the law|strong="G3551", but|strong="G0235" under|strong="G5259" grace|strong="G5485"? God forbid|strong="G1096".
16 Know ye|strong="G1492" not|strong="G3756", that|strong="G3754" to whom|strong="G3739" ye yield|strong="G3936" yourselves|strong="G1438" servants|strong="G1401" to|strong="G1519" obey|strong="G5218", his servants|strong="G1401" ye are|strong="G2075" to whom|strong="G3739" ye obey|strong="G5219"; whether|strong="G2273" of sin|strong="G0266" unto|strong="G1519" death|strong="G2288", or|strong="G2228" of obedience|strong="G5218" unto|strong="G1519" righteousness|strong="G1343"?
17 But|strong="G1161" God|strong="G2316" be thanked|strong="G5485", that|strong="G3754" ye were|strong="G2258" the servants|strong="G1401" of sin|strong="G0266", but|strong="G1161" ye have obeyed|strong="G5219" from|strong="G1537" the heart|strong="G2588" that form|strong="G5179" of doctrine|strong="G1322" which|strong="G3739" was delivered you|strong="G3860".
18 Being|strong="G1659" then|strong="G1161" made free|strong="G1659" from|strong="G0575" sin|strong="G0266", ye became the servants|strong="G1402" of righteousness|strong="G1343".
19 I speak|strong="G3004" after the manner of men|strong="G0442" because of|strong="G1223" the infirmity|strong="G0769" of your|strong="G5216" flesh|strong="G4561": for|strong="G1063" as|strong="G5618" ye have yielded|strong="G3936" your|strong="G5216" members|strong="G3196" servants|strong="G1401" to uncleanness|strong="G0167" and|strong="G2532" to iniquity|strong="G0458" unto|strong="G1519" iniquity|strong="G0458"; even so|strong="G3779" now|strong="G3568" yield|strong="G3936" your|strong="G5216" members|strong="G3196" servants|strong="G1401" to righteousness|strong="G1343" unto|strong="G1519" holiness|strong="G0038".
20 For|strong="G1063" when|strong="G3753" ye were|strong="G2258" the servants|strong="G1401" of sin|strong="G0266", ye were|strong="G2258" free|strong="G1658" from righteousness|strong="G1343".
21 What|strong="G5101" fruit|strong="G2590" had ye|strong="G2192" then|strong="G5119" in|strong="G1909" those things whereof|strong="G3739" ye are|strong="G1870" now|strong="G3568" ashamed|strong="G1870"? for|strong="G1063" the end|strong="G5056" of those things|strong="G1565" is death|strong="G2288".
22 But|strong="G1161" now|strong="G3570" being made free|strong="G1659" from|strong="G0575" sin|strong="G0266", and|strong="G1161" become servants|strong="G1402" to God|strong="G2316", ye have|strong="G2192" your|strong="G5216" fruit|strong="G2590" unto|strong="G1519" holiness|strong="G0038", and|strong="G1161" the end|strong="G5056" everlasting|strong="G0166" life|strong="G2222".
23 For|strong="G1063" the wages|strong="G3800" of sin|strong="G0266" is death|strong="G2288"; but|strong="G1161" the gift|strong="G5486" of God|strong="G2316" is eternal|strong="G0166" life|strong="G2222" through|strong="G1722" Jesus|strong="G2424" Christ|strong="G5547" our|strong="G2257" Lord|strong="G2962".
