The words|strong="H1697" of Agur|strong="H0094" the son|strong="H1121" of Jakeh|strong="H3348", even the prophecy|strong="H4853": the man|strong="H1397" spake|strong="H5002" unto Ithiel|strong="H0384", even unto Ithiel|strong="H0384" and Ucal|strong="H0401",
Surely I am more brutish|strong="H1198" than any man|strong="H0376", and have not the understanding|strong="H0998" of a man|strong="H0120".
I neither learned|strong="H3925" wisdom|strong="H2451", nor have|strong="H3045" the knowledge|strong="H1847" of the holy|strong="H6918".
Who hath ascended up|strong="H5927" into heaven|strong="H8064", or descended|strong="H3381"? who hath gathered|strong="H0622" the wind|strong="H7307" in his fists|strong="H2651"? who hath bound|strong="H6887" the waters|strong="H4325" in a garment|strong="H8071"? who hath established|strong="H6965" all the ends|strong="H0657" of the earth|strong="H0776"? what is his name|strong="H8034", and what is his son’s|strong="H1121" name|strong="H8034", if thou canst tell|strong="H3045"?
Every word|strong="H0565" of God|strong="H0433" is pure|strong="H6884": he is a shield|strong="H4043" unto them that put their trust|strong="H2620" in him.
Add|strong="H3254" thou not unto his words|strong="H1697", lest he reprove|strong="H3198" thee, and thou be found a liar|strong="H3576".
Two|strong="H8147" things have I required|strong="H7592" of thee; deny|strong="H4513" me them not before I die|strong="H4191":
Remove far|strong="H7368" from me vanity|strong="H7723" and lies|strong="H1697": give|strong="H5414" me neither poverty|strong="H7389" nor riches|strong="H6239"; feed|strong="H2963" me with food|strong="H3899" convenient|strong="H2706" for me:
Lest I be full|strong="H7646", and deny|strong="H3584" thee, and say|strong="H0559", Who is the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*? or lest I be poor|strong="H3423", and steal|strong="H1589", and take|strong="H8610" the name|strong="H8034" of my God|strong="H0430" in vain.
Accuse|strong="H3960" not a servant|strong="H5650" unto his master|strong="H0113", lest he curse|strong="H7043" thee, and thou be found guilty|strong="H0816".
There is a generation|strong="H1755" that curseth|strong="H7043" their father|strong="H0001", and doth not bless|strong="H1288" their mother|strong="H0517".
There is a generation|strong="H1755" that are pure|strong="H2889" in their own eyes|strong="H5869", and yet is not washed|strong="H7364" from their filthiness|strong="H6675".
There is a generation|strong="H1755", O how lofty|strong="H7311" are their eyes|strong="H5869"! and their eyelids|strong="H6079" are lifted up|strong="H5375".
There is a generation|strong="H1755", whose teeth|strong="H8127" are as swords|strong="H2719", and their jaw teeth|strong="H4973" as knives|strong="H3979", to devour|strong="H0398" the poor|strong="H6041" from off the earth|strong="H0776", and the needy|strong="H0034" from among men|strong="H0120".
The horseleach|strong="H5936" hath two|strong="H8147" daughters|strong="H1323", crying, Give|strong="H3051", give|strong="H3051". There are three|strong="H7969" things that are never satisfied|strong="H7646", yea, four|strong="H0702" things say|strong="H0559" not, It is enough|strong="H1952":
The grave|strong="H7585"; and the barren|strong="H6115" womb|strong="H7356"; the earth|strong="H0776" that is not filled|strong="H7646" with water|strong="H4325"; and the fire|strong="H0784" that saith|strong="H0559" not, It is enough|strong="H1952".
The eye|strong="H5869" that mocketh|strong="H3932" at his father|strong="H0001", and despiseth|strong="H0936" to obey|strong="H3349" his mother|strong="H0517", the ravens|strong="H6158" of the valley|strong="H5158" shall pick it out|strong="H5365", and the young|strong="H1121" eagles|strong="H5404" shall eat|strong="H0398" it.
There be three|strong="H7969" things which are too wonderful|strong="H6381" for me, yea, four|strong="H0702" which I know|strong="H3045" not:
The way|strong="H1870" of an eagle|strong="H5404" in the air|strong="H8064"; the way|strong="H1870" of a serpent|strong="H5175" upon a rock|strong="H6697"; the way|strong="H1870" of a ship|strong="H0591" in the midst|strong="H3820" of the sea|strong="H3220"; and the way|strong="H1870" of a man|strong="H1397" with a maid|strong="H5959".
Such is the way|strong="H1870" of an adulterous|strong="H5003" woman|strong="H0802"; she eateth|strong="H0398", and wipeth|strong="H4229" her mouth|strong="H6310", and saith|strong="H0559", I have done|strong="H6466" no wickedness|strong="H0205".
For three|strong="H7969" things the earth|strong="H0776" is disquieted|strong="H7264", and for four|strong="H0702" which it cannot|strong="H3201" bear|strong="H5375":
For a servant|strong="H5650" when he reigneth|strong="H4427"; and a fool|strong="H5036" when he is filled|strong="H7646" with meat|strong="H3899";
For an odious|strong="H8130" woman when she is married|strong="H1166"; and an handmaid|strong="H8198" that is heir|strong="H3423" to her mistress|strong="H1404".
There be four|strong="H0702" things which are little|strong="H6996" upon the earth|strong="H0776", but they are exceeding|strong="H2449" wise|strong="H2450":
The ants|strong="H5244" are a people|strong="H5971" not strong|strong="H5794", yet they prepare|strong="H3559" their meat|strong="H3899" in the summer|strong="H7019";
The conies|strong="H8227" are but a feeble|strong="H6099" folk|strong="H5971", yet make|strong="H7760" they their houses|strong="H1004" in the rocks|strong="H5553";
The locusts|strong="H0697" have no king|strong="H4428", yet go they forth|strong="H3318" all of them by bands|strong="H2686";
The spider|strong="H8079" taketh hold|strong="H8610" with her hands|strong="H3027", and is in kings’|strong="H4428" palaces|strong="H1964".
There be three|strong="H7969" things which go|strong="H6806" well|strong="H3190", yea, four|strong="H0702" are comely|strong="H2895" in going|strong="H3212":
A lion|strong="H3918" which is strongest|strong="H1368" among beasts|strong="H0929", and turneth not away|strong="H7725" for|strong="H6440" any;
A greyhound|strong="H4975"; an he goat|strong="H8495" also|strong="H0176"; and a king|strong="H4428", against whom there is no rising up|strong="H0510".
If thou hast done foolishly|strong="H5034" in lifting up|strong="H5375" thyself, or if thou hast thought evil|strong="H2161", lay thine hand|strong="H3027" upon thy mouth|strong="H6310".
Surely the churning|strong="H4330" of milk|strong="H2461" bringeth forth|strong="H3318" butter|strong="H2529", and the wringing|strong="H4330" of the nose|strong="H0639" bringeth forth|strong="H3318" blood|strong="H1818": so the forcing|strong="H4330" of wrath|strong="H0639" bringeth forth|strong="H3318" strife|strong="H7379".
