Provérbios 20

King James (Authorized) Version (ENG-KJV2006)

Wine|strong="H3196" is a mocker|strong="H3887", strong drink|strong="H7941" is raging|strong="H1993": and whosoever is deceived|strong="H7686" thereby is not wise|strong="H2449".

The fear|strong="H0367" of a king|strong="H4428" is as the roaring|strong="H5099" of a lion|strong="H3715": whoso provoketh him to anger|strong="H5674" sinneth|strong="H2398" against his own soul|strong="H5315".

It is an honour|strong="H3519" for a man|strong="H0376" to cease|strong="H7674" from strife|strong="H7379": but every fool|strong="H0191" will be meddling|strong="H1566".

The sluggard|strong="H6102" will not plow|strong="H2790" by reason of the cold|strong="H2779"; therefore shall he beg|strong="H7592" in harvest|strong="H7105", and have nothing.

Counsel|strong="H6098" in the heart|strong="H3820" of man|strong="H0376" is like deep|strong="H6013" water|strong="H4325"; but a man|strong="H0376" of understanding|strong="H8394" will draw it out|strong="H1802".

Most|strong="H7230" men|strong="H0120" will proclaim|strong="H7121" every one|strong="H0376" his own goodness|strong="H2617": but a faithful|strong="H0529" man|strong="H0376" who can find|strong="H4672"?

The just|strong="H6662" man walketh|strong="H1980" in his integrity|strong="H8537": his children|strong="H1121" are blessed|strong="H0835" after|strong="H0310" him.

A king|strong="H4428" that sitteth in|strong="H3427" the throne|strong="H3678" of judgment|strong="H1779" scattereth away|strong="H2219" all evil|strong="H7451" with his eyes|strong="H5869".

Who can say|strong="H0559", I have made my heart|strong="H3820" clean|strong="H2135", I am pure|strong="H2891" from my sin|strong="H2403"?

Divers weights|strong="H0068", and divers measures|strong="H0374", both|strong="H8147" of them are alike|strong="H1571" abomination|strong="H8441" to the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.

Even a child|strong="H5288" is known|strong="H5234" by his doings|strong="H4611", whether his work|strong="H6467" be pure|strong="H2134", and whether it be right|strong="H3477".

The hearing|strong="H8085" ear|strong="H0241", and the seeing|strong="H7200" eye|strong="H5869", the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath made|strong="H6213" even both|strong="H8147" of them.

Love|strong="H0157" not sleep|strong="H8142", lest thou come to poverty|strong="H3423"; open|strong="H6491" thine eyes|strong="H5869", and thou shalt be satisfied|strong="H7646" with bread|strong="H3899".

It is naught|strong="H7451", it is naught|strong="H7451", saith|strong="H0559" the buyer|strong="H7069": but when he is gone|strong="H0235" his way, then he boasteth|strong="H1984".

There is|strong="H3426" gold|strong="H2091", and a multitude|strong="H7230" of rubies|strong="H6443": but the lips|strong="H8193" of knowledge|strong="H1847" are a precious|strong="H3366" jewel|strong="H3627".

Take|strong="H3947" his garment|strong="H0899" that is surety|strong="H6148" for a stranger|strong="H2114": and take a pledge|strong="H2254" of him for a strange woman|strong="H5237".

Bread|strong="H3899" of deceit|strong="H8267" is sweet|strong="H6156" to a man|strong="H0376"; but afterwards|strong="H0310" his mouth|strong="H6310" shall be filled|strong="H4390" with gravel|strong="H2687".

Every purpose|strong="H4284" is established|strong="H3559" by counsel|strong="H6098": and with good advice|strong="H8458" make|strong="H6213" war|strong="H4421".

He that goeth about|strong="H1980" as a talebearer|strong="H7400" revealeth|strong="H1540" secrets|strong="H5475": therefore meddle|strong="H6148" not with him that flattereth|strong="H6601" with his lips|strong="H8193".

Whoso curseth|strong="H7043" his father|strong="H0001" or his mother|strong="H0517", his lamp|strong="H5216" shall be put out|strong="H1846" in obscure|strong="H0380" darkness|strong="H2822".

An inheritance|strong="H5159" may be gotten hastily|strong="H0926" at the beginning|strong="H7223"; but the end|strong="H0319" thereof shall not be blessed|strong="H1288".

Say|strong="H0559" not thou, I will recompense|strong="H7999" evil|strong="H7451"; but wait on|strong="H6960" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and he shall save|strong="H3467" thee.

Divers weights|strong="H0068" are an abomination|strong="H8441" unto the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*; and a false|strong="H4820" balance|strong="H3976" is not good|strong="H2896".

Man’s|strong="H1397" goings|strong="H4703" are of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*; how can a man|strong="H0120" then understand|strong="H0995" his own way|strong="H1870"?

It is a snare|strong="H4170" to the man|strong="H0120" who devoureth|strong="H3216" that which is holy|strong="H6944", and after|strong="H0310" vows|strong="H5088" to make enquiry|strong="H1239".

A wise|strong="H2450" king|strong="H4428" scattereth|strong="H2219" the wicked|strong="H7563", and bringeth|strong="H7725" the wheel|strong="H0212" over them.

The spirit|strong="H5397" of man|strong="H0120" is the candle|strong="H5216" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, searching|strong="H2664" all the inward parts|strong="H2315" of the belly|strong="H0990".

Mercy|strong="H2617" and truth|strong="H0571" preserve|strong="H5341" the king|strong="H4428": and his throne|strong="H3678" is upholden|strong="H5582" by mercy|strong="H2617".

The glory|strong="H8597" of young men|strong="H0970" is their strength|strong="H3581": and the beauty|strong="H1926" of old men|strong="H2205" is the gray head|strong="H7872".

The blueness|strong="H2250" of a wound|strong="H6482" cleanseth|strong="H8562" away evil|strong="H7451": so do stripes|strong="H4347" the inward parts|strong="H2315" of the belly|strong="H0990".
