1 Now Jericho|strong="H3405" was straitly|strong="H5462" shut up|strong="H5462" because|strong="H6440" of the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478": none went out|strong="H3318", and none came in|strong="H0935".
2 And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* said|strong="H0559" unto Joshua|strong="H3091", See|strong="H7200", I have given|strong="H5414" into thine hand|strong="H3027" Jericho|strong="H3405", and the king|strong="H4428" thereof, and the mighty men|strong="H1368" of valour|strong="H2428".
3 And ye shall compass|strong="H5437" the city|strong="H5892", all ye men|strong="H0582" of war|strong="H4421", and go round about|strong="H5362" the city|strong="H5892" once|strong="H6471". Thus shalt thou do|strong="H6213" six|strong="H8337" days|strong="H3117".
4 And seven|strong="H7651" priests|strong="H3548" shall bear|strong="H5375" before|strong="H6440" the ark|strong="H0727" seven|strong="H7651" trumpets|strong="H7782" of rams’ horns|strong="H3104": and the seventh|strong="H7637" day|strong="H3117" ye shall compass|strong="H5437" the city|strong="H5892" seven|strong="H7651" times|strong="H6471", and the priests|strong="H3548" shall blow|strong="H8628" with the trumpets|strong="H7782".
5 And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long|strong="H4900" blast with the ram’s|strong="H3104" horn|strong="H7161", and when ye hear|strong="H8085" the sound|strong="H6963" of the trumpet|strong="H7782", all the people|strong="H5971" shall shout|strong="H7321" with a great|strong="H1419" shout|strong="H8643"; and the wall|strong="H2346" of the city|strong="H5892" shall fall down|strong="H5307" flat|strong="H8478", and the people|strong="H5971" shall ascend up|strong="H5927" every man|strong="H0376" straight before him.
6 And Joshua|strong="H3091" the son|strong="H1121" of Nun|strong="H5126" called|strong="H7121" the priests|strong="H3548", and said|strong="H0559" unto them, Take up|strong="H5375" the ark|strong="H0727" of the covenant|strong="H1285", and let seven|strong="H7651" priests|strong="H3548" bear|strong="H5375" seven|strong="H7651" trumpets|strong="H7782" of rams’ horns|strong="H3104" before|strong="H6440" the ark|strong="H0727" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
7 And he said|strong="H0559" unto the people|strong="H5971", Pass on|strong="H5674", and compass|strong="H5437" the city|strong="H5892", and let him that is armed|strong="H2502" pass on|strong="H5674" before|strong="H6440" the ark|strong="H0727" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
8 And it came to pass, when Joshua|strong="H3091" had spoken|strong="H0559" unto the people|strong="H5971", that the seven|strong="H7651" priests|strong="H3548" bearing|strong="H5375" the seven|strong="H7651" trumpets|strong="H7782" of rams’ horns|strong="H3104" passed on|strong="H5674" before|strong="H6440" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and blew|strong="H8628" with the trumpets|strong="H7782": and the ark|strong="H0727" of the covenant|strong="H1285" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* followed|strong="H1980" them|strong="H0310".
9 And the armed|strong="H2502" men went|strong="H1980" before|strong="H6440" the priests|strong="H3548" that blew|strong="H8628" with the trumpets|strong="H7782", and the rereward|strong="H0622" came|strong="H1980" after|strong="H0310" the ark|strong="H0727", the priests going on|strong="H1980", and blowing|strong="H8628" with the trumpets|strong="H7782".
10 And Joshua|strong="H3091" had commanded|strong="H6680" the people|strong="H5971", saying|strong="H0559", Ye shall not shout|strong="H7321", nor make any noise|strong="H8085" with your voice|strong="H6963", neither shall any word|strong="H1697" proceed|strong="H3318" out of your mouth|strong="H6310", until the day|strong="H3117" I bid|strong="H0559" you shout|strong="H7321"; then shall ye shout|strong="H7321".
11 So the ark|strong="H0727" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* compassed|strong="H5437" the city|strong="H5892", going about|strong="H5362" it once|strong="H6471": and they came|strong="H0935" into the camp|strong="H4264", and lodged|strong="H3885" in the camp|strong="H4264".
12 And Joshua|strong="H3091" rose early|strong="H7925" in the morning|strong="H1242", and the priests|strong="H3548" took up|strong="H5375" the ark|strong="H0727" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
13 And seven|strong="H7651" priests|strong="H3548" bearing|strong="H5375" seven|strong="H7651" trumpets|strong="H7782" of rams’ horns|strong="H3104" before|strong="H6440" the ark|strong="H0727" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* went on|strong="H1980" continually|strong="H1980", and blew|strong="H8628" with the trumpets|strong="H7782": and the armed men|strong="H2502" went|strong="H1980" before|strong="H6440" them; but the rereward|strong="H0622" came|strong="H1980" after|strong="H0310" the ark|strong="H0727" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, the priests going on|strong="H1980", and blowing|strong="H8628" with the trumpets|strong="H7782".
14 And the second|strong="H8145" day|strong="H3117" they compassed|strong="H5437" the city|strong="H5892" once|strong="H6471", and returned|strong="H7725" into the camp|strong="H4264": so they did|strong="H6213" six|strong="H8337" days|strong="H3117".
15 And it came to pass on the seventh|strong="H7637" day|strong="H3117", that they rose early|strong="H7925" about the dawning|strong="H5927" of the day|strong="H7837", and compassed|strong="H5437" the city|strong="H5892" after the same manner|strong="H4941" seven|strong="H7651" times|strong="H6471": only on that day|strong="H3117" they compassed|strong="H5437" the city|strong="H5892" seven|strong="H7651" times|strong="H6471".
16 And it came to pass at the seventh|strong="H7637" time|strong="H6471", when the priests|strong="H3548" blew|strong="H8628" with the trumpets|strong="H7782", Joshua|strong="H3091" said|strong="H0559" unto the people|strong="H5971", Shout|strong="H7321"; for the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath given|strong="H5414" you the city|strong="H5892".
17 And the city|strong="H5892" shall be accursed|strong="H2764", even it, and all that are therein, to the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*: only Rahab|strong="H7343" the harlot|strong="H2181" shall live|strong="H2421", she and all that are with her in the house|strong="H1004", because she hid|strong="H2244" the messengers|strong="H4397" that we sent|strong="H7971".
18 And ye, in any wise|strong="H7535" keep|strong="H8104" yourselves from the accursed thing|strong="H2764", lest ye make yourselves accursed|strong="H2763", when ye take|strong="H3947" of the accursed thing|strong="H2764", and make|strong="H7760" the camp|strong="H4264" of Israel|strong="H3478" a curse|strong="H2764", and trouble|strong="H5916" it.
19 But all the silver|strong="H3701", and gold|strong="H2091", and vessels|strong="H3627" of brass|strong="H5178" and iron|strong="H1270", are consecrated|strong="H6944" unto the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*: they shall come|strong="H0935" into the treasury|strong="H0214" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
20 So the people|strong="H5971" shouted|strong="H7321" when the priests blew|strong="H8628" with the trumpets|strong="H7782": and it came to pass, when the people|strong="H5971" heard|strong="H8085" the sound|strong="H6963" of the trumpet|strong="H7782", and the people|strong="H5971" shouted|strong="H7321" with a great|strong="H1419" shout|strong="H8643", that the wall|strong="H2346" fell down flat|strong="H5307", so that the people|strong="H5971" went up|strong="H5927" into the city|strong="H5892", every man|strong="H0376" straight before him, and they took|strong="H3920" the city|strong="H5892".
21 And they utterly destroyed|strong="H2763" all that was in the city|strong="H5892", both man|strong="H0376" and woman|strong="H0802", young|strong="H5288" and old|strong="H2205", and ox|strong="H7794", and sheep|strong="H7716", and ass|strong="H2543", with the edge|strong="H6310" of the sword|strong="H2719".
22 But Joshua|strong="H3091" had said|strong="H0559" unto the two|strong="H8147" men|strong="H0582" that had spied out|strong="H7270" the country|strong="H0776", Go|strong="H0935" into the harlot’s|strong="H2181" house|strong="H1004", and bring out|strong="H3318" thence the woman|strong="H0802", and all that she hath, as ye sware|strong="H7650" unto her.
23 And the young men|strong="H5288" that were spies|strong="H7270" went in|strong="H0935", and brought out|strong="H3318" Rahab|strong="H7343", and her father|strong="H0001", and her mother|strong="H0517", and her brethren|strong="H0251", and all that she had; and they brought out|strong="H3318" all her kindred|strong="H4940", and left|strong="H3240" them without|strong="H2351" the camp|strong="H4264" of Israel|strong="H3478".
24 And they burnt|strong="H8313" the city|strong="H5892" with fire|strong="H0784", and all that was therein: only the silver|strong="H3701", and the gold|strong="H2091", and the vessels|strong="H3627" of brass|strong="H5178" and of iron|strong="H1270", they put|strong="H5414" into the treasury|strong="H0214" of the house|strong="H1004" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
25 And Joshua|strong="H3091" saved|strong="H2421" Rahab|strong="H7343" the harlot|strong="H2181" alive|strong="H2421", and her father’s|strong="H0001" household|strong="H1004", and all that she had; and she dwelleth|strong="H3427" in|strong="H7130" Israel|strong="H3478" even unto this day|strong="H3117"; because she hid|strong="H2244" the messengers|strong="H4397", which Joshua|strong="H3091" sent|strong="H7971" to spy out|strong="H7270" Jericho|strong="H3405".
26 And Joshua|strong="H3091" adjured|strong="H7650" them at that time|strong="H6256", saying|strong="H0559", Cursed|strong="H0779" be the man|strong="H0376" before|strong="H6440" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, that riseth up|strong="H6965" and buildeth|strong="H1129" this city|strong="H5892" Jericho|strong="H3405": he shall lay the foundation|strong="H3245" thereof in his firstborn|strong="H1060", and in his youngest|strong="H6810" son shall he set up|strong="H5324" the gates|strong="H1817" of it.
27 So the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* was with Joshua|strong="H3091"; and his fame|strong="H8089" was noised throughout all the country|strong="H0776".
