O ye children|strong="H1121" of Benjamin|strong="H1144", gather yourselves to flee|strong="H5756" out of the midst|strong="H7130" of Jerusalem|strong="H3389", and blow|strong="H8628" the trumpet|strong="H7782" in Tekoa|strong="H8620", and set up|strong="H5375" a sign|strong="H4864" of fire in Beth-haccerem|strong="H1021": for evil|strong="H7451" appeareth|strong="H8259" out of the north|strong="H6828", and great|strong="H1419" destruction|strong="H7667".
I have likened|strong="H1820" the daughter|strong="H1323" of Zion|strong="H6726" to a comely|strong="H5116" and delicate|strong="H6026" woman.
The shepherds|strong="H7462" with their flocks|strong="H5739" shall come|strong="H0935" unto her; they shall pitch|strong="H8628" their tents|strong="H0168" against her round about|strong="H5439"; they shall feed|strong="H7462" every one|strong="H0376" in his place|strong="H3027".
Prepare|strong="H6942" ye war|strong="H4421" against her; arise|strong="H6965", and let us go up|strong="H5927" at noon|strong="H6672". Woe|strong="H0188" unto us! for the day|strong="H3117" goeth away|strong="H6437", for the shadows|strong="H6752" of the evening|strong="H6153" are stretched out|strong="H5186".
Arise|strong="H6965", and let us go|strong="H5927" by night|strong="H3915", and let us destroy|strong="H7843" her palaces|strong="H0759".
For thus hath the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635" said|strong="H0559", Hew ye down|strong="H3772" trees|strong="H6097", and cast|strong="H8210" a mount|strong="H5550" against Jerusalem|strong="H3389": this is the city|strong="H5892" to be visited|strong="H6485"; she is wholly oppression|strong="H6233" in the midst|strong="H7130" of her.
As a fountain|strong="H0953" casteth out|strong="H6979" her waters|strong="H4325", so she casteth out|strong="H6979" her wickedness|strong="H7451": violence|strong="H2555" and spoil|strong="H7701" is heard|strong="H8085" in her; before me|strong="H6440" continually|strong="H8548" is grief|strong="H2483" and wounds|strong="H4347".
Be thou instructed|strong="H3256", O Jerusalem|strong="H3389", lest my soul|strong="H5315" depart|strong="H3363" from thee; lest I make|strong="H7760" thee desolate|strong="H8077", a land|strong="H0776" not inhabited|strong="H3427".
Thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635", They shall throughly|strong="H5953" glean|strong="H5953" the remnant|strong="H7611" of Israel|strong="H3478" as a vine|strong="H1612": turn back|strong="H7725" thine hand|strong="H3027" as a grapegatherer|strong="H1219" into the baskets|strong="H5552".
To whom shall I speak|strong="H1696", and give warning|strong="H5749", that they may hear|strong="H8085"? behold, their ear|strong="H0241" is uncircumcised|strong="H6189", and they cannot|strong="H3201" hearken|strong="H7181": behold, the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* is unto them a reproach|strong="H2781"; they have no delight|strong="H2654" in it.
Therefore I am full|strong="H4392" of the fury|strong="H2534" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*; I am weary|strong="H3811" with holding in|strong="H3557": I will pour it out|strong="H8210" upon the children|strong="H5768" abroad|strong="H2351", and upon the assembly|strong="H5475" of young men|strong="H0970" together|strong="H3162": for even the husband|strong="H0376" with the wife|strong="H0802" shall be taken|strong="H3920", the aged|strong="H2205" with him that is full|strong="H4390" of days|strong="H3117".
And their houses|strong="H1004" shall be turned|strong="H5437" unto others|strong="H0312", with their fields|strong="H7704" and wives|strong="H0802" together|strong="H3162": for I will stretch out|strong="H5186" my hand|strong="H3027" upon the inhabitants|strong="H3427" of the land|strong="H0776", saith|strong="H5002" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
For from the least|strong="H6996" of them even unto the greatest|strong="H1419" of them every one is given|strong="H1214" to covetousness|strong="H1215"; and from the prophet|strong="H5030" even unto the priest|strong="H3548" every one dealeth|strong="H6213" falsely|strong="H8267".
They have healed|strong="H7495" also the hurt|strong="H7667" \+w of the daughter|strong="H1323"\+w* of my people|strong="H5971" slightly|strong="H7043", saying|strong="H0559", Peace|strong="H7965", peace|strong="H7965"; when there is no peace|strong="H7965".
Were they ashamed|strong="H3001" when they had committed|strong="H6213" abomination|strong="H8441"? nay|strong="H1571", they were not at all|strong="H0954" ashamed|strong="H0954", neither|strong="H1571" could|strong="H3045" they blush|strong="H3637": therefore they shall fall|strong="H5307" among them that fall|strong="H5307": at the time|strong="H6256" that I visit|strong="H6485" them they shall be cast down|strong="H3782", saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
Thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, Stand|strong="H5975" ye in the ways|strong="H1870", and see|strong="H7200", and ask|strong="H7592" for the old|strong="H5769" paths|strong="H5410", where is the good|strong="H2896" way|strong="H1870", and walk|strong="H3212" therein, and ye shall find|strong="H4672" rest|strong="H4771" for your souls|strong="H5315". But they said|strong="H0559", We will not walk|strong="H3212" therein.
Also I set|strong="H6965" watchmen|strong="H6822" over you, saying, Hearken|strong="H7181" to the sound|strong="H6963" of the trumpet|strong="H7782". But they said|strong="H0559", We will not hearken|strong="H7181".
Therefore hear|strong="H8085", ye nations|strong="H1471", and know|strong="H3045", O congregation|strong="H5712", what is among them.
Hear|strong="H8085", O earth|strong="H0776": behold, I will bring|strong="H0935" evil|strong="H7451" upon this people|strong="H5971", even the fruit|strong="H6529" of their thoughts|strong="H4284", because they have not hearkened|strong="H7181" unto my words|strong="H1697", nor to my law|strong="H8451", but rejected|strong="H3988" it.
To what purpose cometh|strong="H0935" there to me incense|strong="H3828" from Sheba|strong="H7614", and the sweet|strong="H2896" cane|strong="H7070" from a far|strong="H4801" country|strong="H0776"? your burnt offerings|strong="H5930" are not acceptable|strong="H7522", nor your sacrifices|strong="H2077" sweet|strong="H6149" unto me.
Therefore thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, Behold, I will lay|strong="H5414" stumblingblocks|strong="H4383" before this people|strong="H5971", and the fathers|strong="H0001" and the sons|strong="H1121" together|strong="H3162" shall fall|strong="H3782" upon them; the neighbour|strong="H7934" and his friend|strong="H7453" shall perish|strong="H0006".
Thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, Behold, a people|strong="H5971" cometh|strong="H0935" from the north|strong="H6828" country|strong="H0776", and a great|strong="H1419" nation|strong="H1471" shall be raised|strong="H5782" from the sides|strong="H3411" of the earth|strong="H0776".
They shall lay hold|strong="H2388" on bow|strong="H7198" and spear|strong="H3591"; they are cruel|strong="H0394", and have no mercy|strong="H7355"; their voice|strong="H6963" roareth|strong="H1993" like the sea|strong="H3220"; and they ride|strong="H7392" upon horses|strong="H5483", set in array|strong="H6186" as men|strong="H0376" for war|strong="H4421" against thee, O daughter|strong="H1323" of Zion|strong="H6726".
We have heard|strong="H8085" the fame|strong="H8089" thereof: our hands|strong="H3027" wax feeble|strong="H7503": anguish|strong="H6869" hath taken hold|strong="H2388" of us, and pain|strong="H2427", as of a woman in travail|strong="H3205".
Go not forth|strong="H3318" into the field|strong="H7704", nor walk|strong="H3212" by the way|strong="H1870"; for the sword|strong="H2719" of the enemy|strong="H0341" and fear|strong="H4032" is on every side|strong="H5439".
O daughter|strong="H1323" of my people|strong="H5971", gird|strong="H2296" thee with sackcloth|strong="H8242", and wallow|strong="H6428" thyself in ashes|strong="H0665": make|strong="H6213" thee mourning|strong="H0060", as for an only son|strong="H3173", most bitter|strong="H8563" lamentation|strong="H4553": for the spoiler|strong="H7703" shall suddenly|strong="H6597" come|strong="H0935" upon us.
I have set|strong="H5414" thee for a tower|strong="H0969" and a fortress|strong="H4013" among my people|strong="H5971", that thou mayest know|strong="H3045" and try|strong="H0974" their way|strong="H1870".
They are all grievous|strong="H5493" revolters|strong="H5637", walking|strong="H1980" with slanders|strong="H7400": they are brass|strong="H5178" and iron|strong="H1270"; they are all corrupters|strong="H7843".
The bellows|strong="H4647" are burned|strong="H2787", the lead|strong="H5777" is consumed|strong="H8552" of the fire|strong="H0800"; the founder|strong="H6884" melteth|strong="H6884" in vain|strong="H7723": for the wicked|strong="H7451" are not plucked away|strong="H5423".
Reprobate|strong="H3988" silver|strong="H3701" shall men call|strong="H7121" them, because the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath rejected|strong="H3988" them.
