8 O vento sopra onde quer, e ouves a sua voz; mas não sabes donde vem, nem para onde vai; assim é todo aquele que é nascido do Espírito.

9 Perguntou-lhe Nicodemos: Como pode ser isto?

10 Respondeu-lhe Jesus: Tu és mestre em Israel, e não entendes estas coisas?

12 Se vos falei de coisas terrestres, e não credes, como crereis, se vos falar das celestiais?

13 Ora, ninguém subiu ao céu, senão o que desceu do céu, o Filho do homem.

14 E como Moisés levantou a serpente no deserto, assim importa que o Filho do homem seja levantado;

15 para que todo aquele que nele crê tenha a vida eterna.

16 Porque Deus amou o mundo de tal maneira que deu o seu Filho unigênito, para que todo aquele que nele crê não pereça, mas tenha a vida eterna.

17 Porque Deus enviou o seu Filho ao mundo, não para que julgasse o mundo, mas para que o mundo fosse salvo por ele.
18 \+w He that believeth|strong="G4100"\+w* \+w on|strong="G1519"\+w* \+w him|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w is|strong="G2919"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3756"\+w* \+w condemned|strong="G2919"\+w*: \+w but|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w he that believeth|strong="G4100"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3361"\+w* \+w is condemned|strong="G2919"\+w* \+w already|strong="G2235"\+w*, \+w because|strong="G3754"\+w* \+w he hath|strong="G4100"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3361"\+w* \+w believed|strong="G4100"\+w* \+w in|strong="G1519"\+w* \+w the name|strong="G3686"\+w* \+w of the only begotten|strong="G3439"\+w* \+w Son|strong="G5207"\+w* \+w of God|strong="G2316"\+w*.
18 Quem crê nele não é julgado; mas quem não crê, já está julgado; porquanto não crê no nome do unigênito Filho de Deus.
19 \+w And|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w this|strong="G3778"\+w* \+w is|strong="G2076"\+w* \+w the condemnation|strong="G2920"\+w*, \+w that|strong="G3754"\+w* \+w light|strong="G5457"\+w* \+w is come|strong="G2064"\+w* \+w into|strong="G1519"\+w* \+w the world|strong="G2889"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w men|strong="G0444"\+w* \+w loved|strong="G0025"\+w* \+w darkness|strong="G4655"\+w* \+w rather|strong="G3123"\+w* \+w than|strong="G2228"\+w* \+w light|strong="G5457"\+w*, \+w because|strong="G1063"\+w* \+w their|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w deeds|strong="G2041"\+w* \+w were|strong="G2258"\+w* \+w evil|strong="G4190"\+w*.
19 E o julgamento é este: A luz veio ao mundo, e os homens amaram antes as trevas que a luz, porque as suas obras eram más.
20 \+w For|strong="G1063"\+w* \+w every|strong="G3956"\+w* \+w one that doeth|strong="G4238"\+w* \+w evil|strong="G5337"\+w* \+w hateth|strong="G3404"\+w* \+w the light|strong="G5457"\+w*, \+w neither|strong="G3756"\+w* \+w cometh|strong="G2064"\+w* \+w to|strong="G4314"\+w* \+w the light|strong="G5457"\+w*, \+w lest|strong="G3361"\+w* \+w his|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w deeds|strong="G2041"\+w* \+w should be reproved|strong="G1651"\+w*.
20 Porque todo aquele que faz o mal aborrece a luz, e não vem para a luz, para que as suas obras não sejam reprovadas.
21 \+w But|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w he that doeth|strong="G4160"\+w* \+w truth|strong="G0225"\+w* \+w cometh|strong="G2064"\+w* \+w to|strong="G4314"\+w* \+w the light|strong="G5457"\+w*, \+w that|strong="G2443"\+w* \+w his|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w deeds|strong="G2041"\+w* \+w may be made manifest|strong="G5319"\+w*, \+w that|strong="G3754"\+w* \+w they are|strong="G2076"\+w* \+w wrought|strong="G2038"\+w* \+w in|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w God|strong="G2316"\+w*.
21 Mas quem pratica a verdade vem para a luz, a fim de que seja manifesto que as suas obras são feitas em Deus.
22 After|strong="G3326" these things|strong="G5023" came|strong="G2064" Jesus|strong="G2424" and|strong="G2532" his|strong="G0846" disciples|strong="G3101" into|strong="G1519" the land|strong="G1093" of Judæa|strong="G2453"; and|strong="G2532" there|strong="G1563" he tarried|strong="G1304" with|strong="G3326" them|strong="G0846", and|strong="G2532" baptized|strong="G0907".
22 Depois disto foi Jesus com seus discípulos para a terra da Judéia, onde se demorou com eles e batizava.
23 And|strong="G1161" John|strong="G2491" also|strong="G2532" was|strong="G2258" baptizing|strong="G0907" in|strong="G1722" Ænon|strong="G0137" near|strong="G1451" to Salim|strong="G4530", because|strong="G3754" there was|strong="G2258" much|strong="G4183" water|strong="G5204" there|strong="G1563": and|strong="G2532" they came|strong="G3854", and|strong="G2532" were baptized|strong="G0907".
23 Ora, João também estava batizando em Enom, perto de Salim, porque havia ali muitas águas; e o povo ia e se batizava.
24 For|strong="G1063" John|strong="G2491" was|strong="G2258" not yet|strong="G3768" cast|strong="G0906" into|strong="G1519" prison|strong="G5438".
24 Pois João ainda não fora lançado no cárcere.
25 Then|strong="G3767" there arose|strong="G1096" a question|strong="G2214" between|strong="G3326" some of|strong="G1537" John’s|strong="G2491" disciples|strong="G3101" and|strong="G3326" the Jews|strong="G2453" about|strong="G4012" purifying|strong="G2512".
25 Surgiu então uma contenda entre os discípulos de João e um judeu acerca da purificação.

26 E foram ter com João e disseram-lhe: Rabi, aquele que estava contigo além do Jordão, do qual tens dado testemunho, eis que está batizando, e todos vão ter com ele.
27 John|strong="G2491" answered|strong="G0611" and|strong="G2532" said|strong="G2036", A man|strong="G0444" can|strong="G1410" receive|strong="G2983" nothing|strong="G3762", except|strong="G3361" it be|strong="G5600" given|strong="G1325" him|strong="G0846" from|strong="G1537" heaven|strong="G3772".
27 Respondeu João: O homem não pode receber coisa alguma, se não lhe for dada do céu.
28 Ye|strong="G5210" yourselves|strong="G0846" bear|strong="G3140" me|strong="G3427" witness|strong="G3140", that|strong="G3754" I said|strong="G2036", I|strong="G1473" am|strong="G1510" not|strong="G3756" the Christ|strong="G5547", but|strong="G0235" that|strong="G3754" I am|strong="G1510" sent|strong="G0649" before|strong="G1715" him|strong="G1565".
28 Vós mesmos me sois testemunhas de que eu disse: Não sou o Cristo, mas sou enviado adiante dele.
29 He that hath|strong="G2192" the bride|strong="G3565" is|strong="G2076" the bridegroom|strong="G3566": but|strong="G1161" the friend|strong="G5384" of the bridegroom|strong="G3566", which standeth|strong="G2476" and|strong="G2532" heareth|strong="G0191" him|strong="G0846", rejoiceth|strong="G5463" greatly|strong="G5479" because|strong="G1223" of the|strong="G5456" bridegroom’s|strong="G3566" voice|strong="G5456": this|strong="G3778" my|strong="G1699" joy|strong="G5479" therefore|strong="G3767" is fulfilled|strong="G4137".
29 Aquele que tem a noiva é o noivo; mas o amigo do noivo, que está presente e o ouve, regozija-se muito com a voz do noivo. Assim, pois, este meu gozo está completo.
30 He|strong="G1565" must|strong="G1163" increase|strong="G0837", but|strong="G1161" I|strong="G1691" must decrease|strong="G1642".
30 É necessário que ele cresça e que eu diminua.
31 He that cometh|strong="G2064" from above|strong="G0509" is|strong="G2076" above|strong="G1883" all|strong="G3956": he that is|strong="G5607" of|strong="G1537" the earth|strong="G1093" is|strong="G2076" earthly|strong="G1093", and|strong="G2532" speaketh|strong="G2980" of|strong="G1537" the earth|strong="G1093": he that cometh|strong="G2064" from|strong="G1537" heaven|strong="G3772" is|strong="G2076" above|strong="G1883" all|strong="G3956".
31 Aquele que vem de cima é sobre todos; aquele que vem da terra é da terra, e fala da terra. Aquele que vem do céu é sobre todos.
32 And|strong="G2532" what|strong="G3739" he hath seen|strong="G3708" and|strong="G2532" heard|strong="G0191", that|strong="G5124" he testifieth|strong="G3140"; and|strong="G2532" no man|strong="G3762" receiveth|strong="G2983" his|strong="G0846" testimony|strong="G3141".
32 Aquilo que ele tem visto e ouvido, isso testifica; e ninguém aceita o seu testemunho.
33 He that hath received|strong="G2983" his|strong="G0846" testimony|strong="G3141" hath set to his seal|strong="G4972" that|strong="G3754" God|strong="G2316" is|strong="G2076" true|strong="G0227".
33 Mas o que aceitar o seu testemunho, esse confirma que Deus é verdadeiro.
34 For|strong="G1063" he whom|strong="G3739" God|strong="G2316" hath sent|strong="G0649" speaketh|strong="G2980" the words|strong="G4487" of God|strong="G2316": for|strong="G1063" God|strong="G2316" giveth|strong="G1325" not|strong="G3756" the Spirit|strong="G4151" by|strong="G1537" measure|strong="G3358" unto him.
34 Pois aquele que Deus enviou fala as palavras de Deus; porque Deus não dá o Espírito por medida.
35 The Father|strong="G3962" loveth|strong="G0025" the Son|strong="G5207", and|strong="G2532" hath given|strong="G1325" all things|strong="G3956" into|strong="G1722" his|strong="G0846" hand|strong="G5495".
35 O Pai ama ao Filho, e todas as coisas entregou nas suas mãos.
36 He that believeth|strong="G4100" on|strong="G1519" the Son|strong="G5207" hath|strong="G2192" everlasting|strong="G0166" life|strong="G2222": and|strong="G1161" he that believeth not|strong="G0544" the Son|strong="G5207" shall|strong="G3700" not|strong="G3756" see|strong="G3700" life|strong="G2222"; but|strong="G0235" the wrath|strong="G3709" of God|strong="G2316" abideth|strong="G3306" on|strong="G1909" him|strong="G0846".
36 Quem crê no Filho tem a vida eterna; o que, porém, desobedece ao Filho não verá a vida, mas sobre ele permanece a ira de Deus.
