Jonas 3

King James (Authorized) Version (ENG-KJV2006)

And the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* came unto Jonah|strong="H3124" the second|strong="H8145" time, saying|strong="H0559",

Arise|strong="H6965", go|strong="H3212" unto Nineveh|strong="H5210", that great|strong="H1419" city|strong="H5892", and preach|strong="H7121" unto it the preaching|strong="H7150" that I bid|strong="H1696" thee.

So Jonah|strong="H3124" arose|strong="H6965", and went|strong="H3212" unto Nineveh|strong="H5210", according to the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*. Now Nineveh|strong="H5210" was an exceeding|strong="H0430" great|strong="H1419" city|strong="H5892" of three|strong="H7969" days’|strong="H3117" journey|strong="H4109".

And Jonah|strong="H3124" began|strong="H2490" to enter|strong="H0935" into the city|strong="H5892" a|strong="H0259" day’s|strong="H3117" journey|strong="H4109", and he cried|strong="H7121", and said|strong="H0559", Yet forty|strong="H0705" days|strong="H3117", and Nineveh|strong="H5210" shall be overthrown|strong="H2015".

So the people|strong="H0582" of Nineveh|strong="H5210" believed|strong="H0539" God|strong="H0430", and proclaimed|strong="H7121" a fast|strong="H6685", and put|strong="H3847" on sackcloth|strong="H8242", from the greatest|strong="H1419" of them even to the least|strong="H6996" of them.

For word|strong="H1697" came|strong="H5060" unto the king|strong="H4428" of Nineveh|strong="H5210", and he arose|strong="H6965" from his throne|strong="H3678", and he laid|strong="H5674" his robe|strong="H0155" from him, and covered|strong="H3680" him with sackcloth|strong="H8242", and sat|strong="H3427" in ashes|strong="H0665".

And he caused it to be proclaimed|strong="H2199" and published|strong="H0559" through Nineveh|strong="H5210" by the decree|strong="H2940" of the king|strong="H4428" and his nobles|strong="H1419", saying|strong="H0559", Let neither man|strong="H0120" nor beast|strong="H0929", herd|strong="H1241" nor flock|strong="H6629", taste|strong="H2938" any thing|strong="H3972": let them not feed|strong="H7462", nor drink|strong="H8354" water|strong="H4325":

But let man|strong="H0120" and beast|strong="H0929" be covered|strong="H3680" with sackcloth|strong="H8242", and cry|strong="H7121" mightily|strong="H2394" unto God|strong="H0430": yea, let them turn|strong="H7725" every one|strong="H0376" from his evil|strong="H7451" way|strong="H1870", and from the violence|strong="H2555" that is in their hands|strong="H3709".

Who can tell|strong="H3045" if God|strong="H0430" will turn|strong="H7725" and repent|strong="H5162", and turn away|strong="H7725" from his fierce|strong="H2740" anger|strong="H0639", that we perish|strong="H0006" not?

And God|strong="H0430" saw|strong="H7200" their works|strong="H4639", that they turned|strong="H7725" from their evil|strong="H7451" way|strong="H1870"; and God|strong="H0430" repented|strong="H5162" of the evil|strong="H7451", that he had said|strong="H1696" that he would do|strong="H6213" unto them; and he did|strong="H6213" it not.
