Isaías 7

King James (Authorized) Version (ENG-KJV2006)

And it came to pass in the days|strong="H3117" of Ahaz|strong="H0271" the son|strong="H1121" of Jotham|strong="H3147", the son|strong="H1121" of Uzziah|strong="H5818", king|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063", that Rezin|strong="H7526" the king|strong="H4428" of Syria|strong="H0758", and Pekah|strong="H6492" the son|strong="H1121" of Remaliah|strong="H7425", king|strong="H4428" of Israel|strong="H3478", went up|strong="H5927" toward Jerusalem|strong="H3389" to war|strong="H4421" against it, but could|strong="H3201" not prevail|strong="H3898" against it.

And it was told|strong="H5046" the house|strong="H1004" of David|strong="H1732", saying|strong="H0559", Syria|strong="H0758" is confederate|strong="H5117" with Ephraim|strong="H0669". And his heart|strong="H3824" was moved|strong="H5128", and the heart|strong="H3824" of his people|strong="H5971", as the trees|strong="H6086" of the wood|strong="H3293" are moved|strong="H5128" with|strong="H6440" the wind|strong="H7307".

Then said|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* unto Isaiah|strong="H3470", Go forth|strong="H3318" now to meet|strong="H7125" Ahaz|strong="H0271", thou, and Shear-jashub|strong="H7610" thy son|strong="H1121", at the end|strong="H7097" of the conduit|strong="H8585" of the upper|strong="H5945" pool|strong="H1295" in the highway|strong="H4546" of the fuller’s|strong="H3526" field|strong="H7704";

And say|strong="H0559" unto him, Take heed|strong="H8104", and be quiet|strong="H8252"; fear|strong="H3372" not, neither be fainthearted|strong="H7401" for the two|strong="H8147" tails|strong="H2180" of these smoking|strong="H6226" firebrands|strong="H0181", for the fierce|strong="H2750" anger|strong="H0639" of Rezin|strong="H7526" with Syria|strong="H0758", and of the son|strong="H1121" of Remaliah|strong="H7425".

Because Syria|strong="H0758", Ephraim|strong="H0669", and the son|strong="H1121" of Remaliah|strong="H7425", have taken evil|strong="H7451" counsel|strong="H3289" against thee, saying|strong="H0559",

Let us go up|strong="H5927" against Judah|strong="H3063", and vex|strong="H6973" it, and let us make a breach|strong="H1234" therein for us, and set|strong="H4427" a king|strong="H4428" in the midst|strong="H8432" of it, even the son|strong="H1121" of Tabeal|strong="H2870":

Thus|strong="H3541" saith|strong="H0559" the Lord|strong="H0136" \+w GOD|strong="H3069"\+w*, It shall not stand|strong="H6965", neither shall it come to pass.

For the head|strong="H7218" of Syria|strong="H0758" is Damascus|strong="H1834", and the head|strong="H7218" of Damascus|strong="H1834" is Rezin|strong="H7526"; and within threescore|strong="H8346" and five|strong="H2568" years|strong="H8141" shall Ephraim|strong="H0669" be broken|strong="H2865", that it be not a people|strong="H5971".

And the head|strong="H7218" of Ephraim|strong="H0669" is Samaria|strong="H8111", and the head|strong="H7218" of Samaria|strong="H8111" is Remaliah’s|strong="H7425" son|strong="H1121". If ye will not believe|strong="H0539", surely ye shall not be established|strong="H0539".

Moreover the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* spake|strong="H1696" again|strong="H3254" unto Ahaz|strong="H0271", saying|strong="H0559",

Ask|strong="H7592" thee a sign|strong="H0226" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* thy God|strong="H0430"; ask|strong="H7592" it either in the depth|strong="H6009", or in the height|strong="H1361" above|strong="H4605".

But Ahaz|strong="H0271" said|strong="H0559", I will not ask|strong="H7592", neither will I tempt|strong="H5254" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.

And he said|strong="H0559", Hear|strong="H8085" ye now, O house|strong="H1004" of David|strong="H1732"; Is it a small thing|strong="H4592" for you to weary|strong="H3811" men|strong="H0582", but will ye weary|strong="H3811" my God|strong="H0430" also?

Therefore the Lord|strong="H0136" himself shall give|strong="H5414" you a sign|strong="H0226"; Behold, a virgin|strong="H5959" shall conceive|strong="H2030", and bear|strong="H3205" a son|strong="H1121", and shall call|strong="H7121" his name|strong="H8034" Immanuel|strong="H6005".

Butter|strong="H2529" and honey|strong="H1706" shall he eat|strong="H0398", that he may know|strong="H3045" to refuse|strong="H3988" the evil|strong="H7451", and choose|strong="H0977" the good|strong="H2896".

For before the child|strong="H5288" shall know|strong="H3045" to refuse|strong="H3988" the evil|strong="H7451", and choose|strong="H0977" the good|strong="H2896", the land|strong="H0127" that thou abhorrest|strong="H6973" shall be|strong="H6440" forsaken|strong="H5800" of both|strong="H8147" her kings|strong="H4428".

The \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* shall bring|strong="H0935" upon thee, and upon thy people|strong="H5971", and upon thy father’s|strong="H0001" house|strong="H1004", days|strong="H3117" that have not come|strong="H0935", from the day|strong="H3117" that Ephraim|strong="H0669" departed|strong="H5493" from Judah|strong="H3063"; even the king|strong="H4428" of Assyria|strong="H0804".

And it shall come to pass in that day|strong="H3117", that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* shall hiss|strong="H8319" for the fly|strong="H2070" that is in the uttermost part|strong="H7097" of the rivers|strong="H2975" of Egypt|strong="H4714", and for the bee|strong="H1682" that is in the land|strong="H0776" of Assyria|strong="H0804".

And they shall come|strong="H0935", and shall rest|strong="H5117" all of them in the desolate|strong="H1327" valleys|strong="H5158", and in the holes|strong="H5357" of the rocks|strong="H5553", and upon all thorns|strong="H5285", and upon all bushes|strong="H5097".

In the same day|strong="H3117" shall the Lord|strong="H0136" shave|strong="H1548" with a razor|strong="H8593" that is hired|strong="H7917", namely, by them beyond|strong="H5676" the river|strong="H5104", by the king|strong="H4428" of Assyria|strong="H0804", the head|strong="H7218", and the hair|strong="H8181" of the feet|strong="H7272": and it shall also consume|strong="H5595" the beard|strong="H2206".

And it shall come to pass in that day|strong="H3117", that a man|strong="H0376" shall nourish|strong="H2421" a young|strong="H1241" cow|strong="H5697", and two|strong="H8147" sheep|strong="H6629";

And it shall come to pass, for the abundance|strong="H7230" of milk|strong="H2461" that they shall give|strong="H6213" he shall eat|strong="H0398" butter|strong="H2529": for butter|strong="H2529" and honey|strong="H1706" shall every one eat|strong="H0398" that is left|strong="H3498" in|strong="H7130" the land|strong="H0776".

And it shall come to pass in that day|strong="H3117", that every place|strong="H4725" shall be, where there were a thousand|strong="H0505" vines|strong="H1612" at a thousand|strong="H0505" silverlings|strong="H3701", it shall even be for briers|strong="H8068" and thorns|strong="H7898".

With arrows|strong="H2671" and with bows|strong="H7198" shall men come|strong="H0935" thither; because all the land|strong="H0776" shall become briers|strong="H8068" and thorns|strong="H7898".

And on all hills|strong="H2022" that shall be digged|strong="H5737" with the mattock|strong="H4576", there shall not come thither|strong="H0935" the fear|strong="H3374" of briers|strong="H8068" and thorns|strong="H7898": but it shall be for the sending forth|strong="H4916" of oxen|strong="H7794", and for the treading|strong="H4823" of lesser cattle|strong="H7716".
