Isaías 1

King James (Authorized) Version (ENG-KJV2006)

The vision|strong="H2377" of Isaiah|strong="H3470" the son|strong="H1121" of Amoz|strong="H0531", which he saw|strong="H2372" concerning Judah|strong="H3063" and Jerusalem|strong="H3389" in the days|strong="H3117" of Uzziah|strong="H5818", Jotham|strong="H3147", Ahaz|strong="H0271", and Hezekiah|strong="H3169", kings|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063".

Hear|strong="H8085", O heavens|strong="H8064", and give ear|strong="H0238", O earth|strong="H0776": for the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath spoken|strong="H1696", I have nourished|strong="H1431" and brought up|strong="H7311" children|strong="H1121", and they have rebelled|strong="H6586" against me.

The ox|strong="H7794" knoweth|strong="H3045" his owner|strong="H7069", and the ass|strong="H2543" his master’s|strong="H1167" crib|strong="H0018": but Israel|strong="H3478" doth not know|strong="H3045", my people|strong="H5971" doth not consider|strong="H0995".

Ah|strong="H1945" sinful|strong="H2398" nation|strong="H1471", a people|strong="H5971" laden|strong="H3515" with iniquity|strong="H5771", a seed|strong="H2233" of evildoers|strong="H7489", children|strong="H1121" that are corrupters|strong="H7843": they have forsaken|strong="H5800" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, they have provoked|strong="H5006" the Holy One|strong="H6918" of Israel|strong="H3478" unto anger|strong="H5006", they are gone away|strong="H2114" backward|strong="H0268".

Why should ye be stricken|strong="H5221" any more? ye will revolt|strong="H5627" more and more|strong="H3254": the whole head|strong="H7218" is sick|strong="H2483", and the whole heart|strong="H3824" faint|strong="H1742".

From the sole|strong="H3709" of the foot|strong="H7272" even unto the head|strong="H7218" there is no soundness|strong="H4974" in it; but wounds|strong="H6482", and bruises|strong="H2250", and putrifying|strong="H2961" sores|strong="H4347": they have not been closed|strong="H2115", neither bound up|strong="H2280", neither mollified|strong="H7401" with ointment|strong="H8081".

Your country|strong="H0776" is desolate|strong="H8077", your cities|strong="H5892" are burned|strong="H8313" with fire|strong="H0784": your land|strong="H0127", strangers|strong="H2114" devour|strong="H0398" it in your presence, and it is desolate|strong="H8077", as overthrown|strong="H4114" by strangers|strong="H2114".

And the daughter|strong="H1323" of Zion|strong="H6726" is left|strong="H3498" as a cottage|strong="H5521" in a vineyard|strong="H3754", as a lodge|strong="H4412" in a garden of cucumbers|strong="H4750", as a besieged|strong="H5341" city|strong="H5892".

Except|strong="H3884" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635" had left|strong="H3498" unto us a very small|strong="H4592" remnant|strong="H8300", we should have been|strong="H1961" as Sodom|strong="H5467", and we should have been like|strong="H1819" unto Gomorrah|strong="H6017".

Hear|strong="H8085" the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, ye rulers|strong="H7101" of Sodom|strong="H5467"; give ear|strong="H0238" unto the law|strong="H8451" of our God|strong="H0430", ye people|strong="H5971" of Gomorrah|strong="H6017".

To what|strong="H4100" purpose is the multitude|strong="H7230" of your sacrifices|strong="H2077" unto me? saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*: I am full|strong="H7646" of the burnt offerings|strong="H5930" of rams|strong="H0352", and the fat|strong="H2459" of fed beasts|strong="H4806"; and I delight|strong="H2654" not in the blood|strong="H1818" of bullocks|strong="H6499", or of lambs|strong="H3532", or of he goats|strong="H6260".

When ye come|strong="H0935" to appear|strong="H7200" before|strong="H6440" me, who hath required|strong="H1245" this at your hand|strong="H3027", to tread|strong="H7429" my courts|strong="H2691"?

Bring|strong="H0935" no more|strong="H3254" vain|strong="H7723" oblations|strong="H4503"; incense|strong="H7004" is an abomination|strong="H8441" unto me; the new moons|strong="H2320" and sabbaths|strong="H7676", the calling|strong="H7121" of assemblies|strong="H4744", I cannot away with|strong="H3201"; it is iniquity|strong="H0205", even the solemn meeting|strong="H6116".

Your new moons|strong="H2320" and your appointed feasts|strong="H4150" my soul|strong="H5315" hateth|strong="H8130": they are a trouble|strong="H2960" unto me; I am weary|strong="H3811" to bear|strong="H5375" them.

And when ye spread forth|strong="H6566" your hands|strong="H3709", I will hide|strong="H5956" mine eyes|strong="H5869" from you: yea, when ye make many|strong="H7235" prayers|strong="H8605", I will not hear|strong="H8085": your hands|strong="H3027" are full|strong="H4390" of blood|strong="H1818".

Wash|strong="H7364" you, make you clean|strong="H2135"; put away|strong="H5493" the evil|strong="H7455" of your doings|strong="H4611" from before|strong="H5048" mine eyes|strong="H5869"; cease|strong="H2308" to do evil|strong="H7489";

Learn|strong="H3925" to do well|strong="H3190"; seek|strong="H1875" judgment|strong="H4941", relieve|strong="H0833" the oppressed|strong="H2541", judge|strong="H8199" the fatherless|strong="H3490", plead|strong="H7378" for the widow|strong="H0490".

Come now|strong="H3212", and let us reason together|strong="H3198", saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*: though your sins|strong="H2399" be as scarlet|strong="H8144", they shall be as white|strong="H3835" as snow|strong="H7950"; though they be red|strong="H0119" like crimson|strong="H8438", they shall be as wool|strong="H6785".

If ye be willing|strong="H0014" and obedient|strong="H8085", ye shall eat|strong="H0398" the good|strong="H2898" of the land|strong="H0776":

But if ye refuse|strong="H3985" and rebel|strong="H4784", ye shall be devoured|strong="H0398" with the sword|strong="H2719": for the mouth|strong="H6310" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath spoken|strong="H1696" it.

How is the faithful|strong="H0539" city|strong="H7151" become an harlot|strong="H2181"! it was full|strong="H4392" of judgment|strong="H4941"; righteousness|strong="H6664" lodged|strong="H3885" in it; but now murderers|strong="H7523".

Thy silver|strong="H3701" is become dross|strong="H5509", thy wine|strong="H5435" mixed|strong="H4107" with water|strong="H4325":

Thy princes|strong="H8269" are rebellious|strong="H5637", and companions|strong="H2270" of thieves|strong="H1590": every one loveth|strong="H0157" gifts|strong="H7810", and followeth|strong="H7291" after rewards|strong="H8021": they judge|strong="H8199" not the fatherless|strong="H3490", neither doth the cause|strong="H7379" of the widow|strong="H0490" come|strong="H0935" unto them.

Therefore saith|strong="H5002" the Lord|strong="H0113", the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* of hosts|strong="H6635", the mighty One|strong="H0046" of Israel|strong="H3478", Ah|strong="H1945", I will ease|strong="H5162" me of mine adversaries|strong="H6862", and avenge|strong="H5358" me of mine enemies|strong="H0341":

And I will turn|strong="H7725" my hand|strong="H3027" upon thee, and purely|strong="H1253" purge away|strong="H6884" thy dross|strong="H5509", and take away|strong="H5493" all thy tin|strong="H0913":

And I will restore|strong="H7725" thy judges|strong="H8199" as at the first|strong="H7223", and thy counsellors|strong="H3289" as at the beginning|strong="H8462": afterward|strong="H0310" thou shalt be called|strong="H7121", The city|strong="H5892" of righteousness|strong="H6664", the faithful|strong="H0539" city|strong="H7151".

Zion|strong="H6726" shall be redeemed|strong="H6299" with judgment|strong="H4941", and her converts|strong="H7725" with righteousness|strong="H6666".

And the destruction|strong="H7667" of the transgressors|strong="H6586" and of the sinners|strong="H2400" shall be together|strong="H3162", and they that forsake|strong="H5800" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* shall be consumed|strong="H3615".

For they shall be ashamed|strong="H0954" of the oaks|strong="H0352" which ye have desired|strong="H2530", and ye shall be confounded|strong="H2659" for the gardens|strong="H1593" that ye have chosen|strong="H0977".

For ye shall be as an oak|strong="H0424" whose leaf|strong="H5929" fadeth|strong="H5034", and as a garden|strong="H1593" that hath no water|strong="H4325".

And the strong|strong="H2634" shall be as tow|strong="H5296", and the maker|strong="H6467" of it as a spark|strong="H5213", and they shall both|strong="H8147" burn|strong="H1197" together|strong="H3162", and none shall quench|strong="H3518" them.
