1 For|strong="G1063" every|strong="G3956" high priest|strong="G0749" taken|strong="G2983" from among|strong="G1537" men|strong="G0444" is ordained|strong="G2525" for|strong="G5228" men|strong="G0444" in|strong="G2525" things|strong="G3588" pertaining to|strong="G4314" God|strong="G2316", that|strong="G2443" he may offer|strong="G4374" both|strong="G5037" gifts|strong="G1435" and|strong="G2532" sacrifices|strong="G2378" for|strong="G5228" sins|strong="G0266":
2 Who can|strong="G1410" have compassion on|strong="G3356" the ignorant|strong="G0050", and|strong="G2532" on|strong="G3356" them that are out of the way|strong="G4105"; for that|strong="G1893" he|strong="G4029" himself|strong="G0846" also|strong="G2532" is compassed with|strong="G4029" infirmity|strong="G0769".
3 And|strong="G2532" by reason|strong="G1223" here|strong="G3778"of|strong="G1223" he ought|strong="G3784", as|strong="G2531" for|strong="G4012" the people|strong="G2992", so|strong="G3779" also|strong="G2532" for|strong="G4012" himself|strong="G1438", to offer|strong="G4374" for|strong="G5228" sins|strong="G0266".
4 And|strong="G2532" no|strong="G3756" man|strong="G5100" taketh|strong="G2983" this honour|strong="G5092" unto himself|strong="G1438", but|strong="G0235" he that is called|strong="G2564" of|strong="G5259" God|strong="G2316", as|strong="G2509" was Aaron|strong="G0002".
5 So|strong="G3779" also|strong="G2532" Christ|strong="G5547" glorified|strong="G1392" not|strong="G3756" himself|strong="G1438" to be made|strong="G1096" an high priest|strong="G0749"; but|strong="G0235" he that said|strong="G2980" unto|strong="G4314" him|strong="G0846", Thou|strong="G4771" art|strong="G1488" my|strong="G3450" Son|strong="G5207", to day|strong="G4594" have|strong="G1080" I|strong="G1473" begotten|strong="G1080" thee|strong="G4571".
6 As|strong="G2531" he saith|strong="G3004" also|strong="G2532" in|strong="G1722" another|strong="G2087" place, Thou|strong="G4771" art a priest|strong="G2409" for|strong="G1519" ever|strong="G0165" after|strong="G2596" the order|strong="G5010" of Melchisedec|strong="G3198".
7 Who|strong="G3739" in|strong="G1722" the days|strong="G2250" of|strong="G4561" his|strong="G0846" flesh|strong="G4561", when he had offered up|strong="G4374" prayers|strong="G1162" and|strong="G2532" supplications|strong="G2428" with|strong="G3326" strong|strong="G2478" crying|strong="G2906" and|strong="G2532" tears|strong="G1144" unto|strong="G4314" him that was able|strong="G1410" to save|strong="G4982" him|strong="G0846" from|strong="G1537" death|strong="G2288", and|strong="G2532" was heard|strong="G1522" in|strong="G0575" that he feared|strong="G2124";
8 Though|strong="G2539" he were|strong="G5607" a Son|strong="G5207", yet|strong="G2539" learned he|strong="G3129" obedience|strong="G5218" by|strong="G0575" the things which|strong="G3739" he suffered|strong="G3958";
9 And|strong="G2532" being made perfect|strong="G5048", he became|strong="G1096" the author|strong="G0159" of|strong="G4991" eternal|strong="G0166" salvation|strong="G4991" unto all|strong="G3956" them that obey|strong="G5219" him|strong="G0846";
10 Called|strong="G4316" of|strong="G5259" God|strong="G2316" an high priest|strong="G0749" after|strong="G2596" the order|strong="G5010" of Melchisedec|strong="G3198".
11 Of|strong="G4012" whom|strong="G3739" we have|strong="G2254" many|strong="G4183" things|strong="G3056" to say|strong="G3004", and|strong="G2532" hard to be uttered|strong="G1421", seeing|strong="G1893" ye are|strong="G1096" dull|strong="G3576" of hearing|strong="G0189".
12 For|strong="G1063" when|strong="G2532" for|strong="G1223" the time|strong="G5550" ye ought|strong="G3784" to be|strong="G1511" teachers|strong="G1320", ye have|strong="G2192" need|strong="G5532" that one|strong="G5101" teach|strong="G1321" you|strong="G5209" again|strong="G3825" which|strong="G5101" be the|strong="G4747" first|strong="G0746" principles|strong="G4747" of the oracles|strong="G3051" of God|strong="G2316"; and|strong="G2532" are become|strong="G1096" such as have|strong="G2192" need|strong="G5532" of milk|strong="G1051", and|strong="G2532" not|strong="G3756" of|strong="G5160" strong|strong="G4731" meat|strong="G5160".
13 For|strong="G1063" every one|strong="G3956" that useth|strong="G3348" milk|strong="G1051" is unskilful|strong="G0552" in the word|strong="G3056" of righteousness|strong="G1343": for|strong="G1063" he is|strong="G2076" a babe|strong="G3516".
14 But|strong="G1161" strong|strong="G4731" meat|strong="G5160" belongeth|strong="G2076" to them that are of full age|strong="G5046", even those who|strong="G2192" by reason of|strong="G1223" use|strong="G1838" have|strong="G2192" their senses|strong="G0145" exercised|strong="G1128" to|strong="G4314" discern|strong="G1253" both|strong="G5037" good|strong="G2570" and|strong="G2532" evil|strong="G2556".
