Gênesis 48

King James (Authorized) Version (ENG-KJV2006)

And it came to pass after|strong="H0310" these things|strong="H1697", that one told|strong="H0559" Joseph|strong="H3130", Behold, thy father|strong="H0001" is sick|strong="H2470": and he took|strong="H3947" with him his two|strong="H8147" sons|strong="H1121", Manasseh|strong="H4519" and Ephraim|strong="H0669".

And one told|strong="H5046" Jacob|strong="H3290", and said|strong="H0559", Behold, thy son|strong="H1121" Joseph|strong="H3130" cometh|strong="H0935" unto thee: and Israel|strong="H3478" strengthened|strong="H2388" himself, and sat|strong="H3427" upon the bed|strong="H4296".

And Jacob|strong="H3290" said|strong="H0559" unto Joseph|strong="H3130", God|strong="H0410" Almighty|strong="H7706" appeared|strong="H7200" unto me at Luz|strong="H3870" in the land|strong="H0776" of Canaan|strong="H3667", and blessed|strong="H1288" me,

And said|strong="H0559" unto me, Behold, I will make thee fruitful|strong="H6509", and multiply|strong="H7235" thee, and I will make|strong="H5414" of thee a multitude|strong="H6951" of people|strong="H5971"; and will give|strong="H5414" this land|strong="H0776" to thy seed|strong="H2233" after thee|strong="H0310" for an everlasting|strong="H5769" possession|strong="H0272".

And now thy two|strong="H8147" sons|strong="H1121", Ephraim|strong="H0669" and Manasseh|strong="H4519", which were born|strong="H3205" unto thee in the land|strong="H0776" of Egypt|strong="H4714" before|strong="H5704" I came|strong="H0935" unto thee into Egypt|strong="H4714", are mine; as Reuben|strong="H7205" and Simeon|strong="H8095", they shall be mine.

And thy issue|strong="H4138", which thou begettest|strong="H3205" after|strong="H0310" them, shall be thine, and shall be called|strong="H7121" after|strong="H5921" the name|strong="H8034" of their brethren|strong="H0251" in their inheritance|strong="H5159".

And as for me, when I came|strong="H0935" from Padan|strong="H6307", Rachel|strong="H7354" died|strong="H4191" by me in the land|strong="H0776" of Canaan|strong="H3667" in the way|strong="H1870", when|strong="H5750" yet there was but a little|strong="H3530" way|strong="H0776" to come|strong="H0935" unto Ephrath|strong="H0672": and I buried her|strong="H6912" there in the way|strong="H1870" of Ephrath|strong="H0672"; the same is Beth-lehem|strong="H1035".

And Israel|strong="H3478" beheld|strong="H7200" Joseph’s|strong="H3130" sons|strong="H1121", and said|strong="H0559", Who are these?

And Joseph|strong="H3130" said|strong="H0559" unto his father|strong="H0001", They are my sons|strong="H1121", whom God|strong="H0430" hath given|strong="H5414" me in this place. And he said|strong="H0559", Bring them|strong="H3947", I pray thee, unto me, and I will bless|strong="H1288" them.

Now the eyes|strong="H5869" of Israel|strong="H3478" were dim|strong="H3513" for age|strong="H2207", so that he could|strong="H3201" not see|strong="H7200". And he brought them near|strong="H5066" unto him; and he kissed|strong="H5401" them, and embraced|strong="H2263" them.

And Israel|strong="H3478" said|strong="H0559" unto Joseph|strong="H3130", I had not thought|strong="H6419" to see|strong="H7200" thy face|strong="H6440": and, lo, God|strong="H0430" hath shewed|strong="H7200" me also thy seed|strong="H2233".

And Joseph|strong="H3130" brought them out|strong="H3318" from between|strong="H5973" his knees|strong="H1290", and he bowed|strong="H7812" himself with his face|strong="H0639" to the earth|strong="H0776".

And Joseph|strong="H3130" took|strong="H3947" them both|strong="H8147", Ephraim|strong="H0669" in his right hand|strong="H3225" toward Israel’s|strong="H3478" left hand|strong="H8040", and Manasseh|strong="H4519" in his left hand|strong="H8040" toward Israel’s|strong="H3478" right hand|strong="H3225", and brought them near|strong="H5066" unto him.

And Israel|strong="H3478" stretched out|strong="H7971" his right hand|strong="H3225", and laid|strong="H7896" it upon Ephraim’s|strong="H0669" head|strong="H7218", who was the younger|strong="H6810", and his left hand|strong="H8040" upon Manasseh’s|strong="H4519" head|strong="H7218", guiding|strong="H7919" his hands|strong="H3027" wittingly|strong="H7919"; for Manasseh|strong="H4519" was the firstborn|strong="H1060".

And he blessed|strong="H1288" Joseph|strong="H3130", and said|strong="H0559", God|strong="H0430", before|strong="H6440" whom my fathers|strong="H0001" Abraham|strong="H0085" and Isaac|strong="H3327" did walk|strong="H1980", the God|strong="H0430" which fed|strong="H7462" me all my life long|strong="H5750" unto this day|strong="H3117",

The Angel|strong="H4397" which redeemed|strong="H1350" me from all evil|strong="H7451", bless|strong="H1288" the lads|strong="H5288"; and let my name|strong="H8034" be named|strong="H7121" on them, and the name|strong="H8034" of my fathers|strong="H0001" Abraham|strong="H0085" and Isaac|strong="H3327"; and let them grow|strong="H1711" into a multitude|strong="H7230" in the midst|strong="H7130" of the earth|strong="H0776".

And when Joseph|strong="H3130" saw|strong="H7200" that his father|strong="H0001" laid|strong="H7896" his right|strong="H3225" hand|strong="H3027" upon the head|strong="H7218" of Ephraim|strong="H0669", it displeased|strong="H3415" him: and he held up|strong="H8551" his father’s|strong="H0001" hand|strong="H3027", to remove|strong="H5493" it from Ephraim’s|strong="H0669" head|strong="H7218" unto Manasseh’s|strong="H4519" head|strong="H7218".

And Joseph|strong="H3130" said|strong="H0559" unto his father|strong="H0001", Not so, my father|strong="H0001": for this is the firstborn|strong="H1060"; put|strong="H7760" thy right hand|strong="H3225" upon his head|strong="H7218".

And his father|strong="H0001" refused|strong="H3985", and said|strong="H0559", I know|strong="H3045" it, my son|strong="H1121", I know|strong="H3045" it: he also shall become a people|strong="H5971", and he also shall be great|strong="H1431": but truly|strong="H0199" his younger|strong="H6996" brother|strong="H0251" shall be greater|strong="H1431" than he, and his seed|strong="H2233" shall become a multitude|strong="H4393" of nations|strong="H1471".

And he blessed|strong="H1288" them that day|strong="H3117", saying|strong="H0559", In thee shall Israel|strong="H3478" bless|strong="H1288", saying|strong="H0559", God|strong="H0430" make|strong="H7760" thee as Ephraim|strong="H0669" and as Manasseh|strong="H4519": and he set|strong="H7760" Ephraim|strong="H0669" before|strong="H6440" Manasseh|strong="H4519".

And Israel|strong="H3478" said|strong="H0559" unto Joseph|strong="H3130", Behold, I die|strong="H4191": but God|strong="H0430" shall be with you, and bring you again|strong="H7725" unto the land|strong="H0776" of your fathers|strong="H0001".

Moreover I have given|strong="H5414" to thee one|strong="H0259" portion|strong="H7926" above thy brethren|strong="H0251", which I took|strong="H3947" out of the hand|strong="H3027" of the Amorite|strong="H0567" with my sword|strong="H2719" and with my bow|strong="H7198".
