And Sarah|strong="H8283" was an hundred|strong="H3967" and seven|strong="H7651" and twenty|strong="H6242" years|strong="H8141" old|strong="H2416": these were the years|strong="H8141" of the life|strong="H2416" of Sarah|strong="H8283".
And Sarah|strong="H8283" died|strong="H4191" in Kirjath-arba|strong="H7153"; the same is Hebron|strong="H2275" in the land|strong="H0776" of Canaan|strong="H3667": and Abraham|strong="H0085" came|strong="H0935" to mourn|strong="H5594" for Sarah|strong="H8283", and to weep|strong="H1058" for her.
And Abraham|strong="H0085" stood up|strong="H6965" from before|strong="H6440" his dead|strong="H4191", and spake|strong="H1696" unto the sons|strong="H1121" of Heth|strong="H2845", saying|strong="H0559",
I am a stranger|strong="H1616" and a sojourner|strong="H8453" with you: give|strong="H5414" me a possession|strong="H0272" of a buryingplace|strong="H6913" with you, that I may bury|strong="H6912" my dead|strong="H4191" out of my sight|strong="H6440".
And the children|strong="H1121" of Heth|strong="H2845" answered|strong="H6030" Abraham|strong="H0085", saying|strong="H0559" unto him,
Hear us|strong="H8085", my lord|strong="H0113": thou art a mighty|strong="H0430" prince|strong="H5387" among us|strong="H8432": in the choice|strong="H4005" of our sepulchres|strong="H6913" bury|strong="H6912" thy dead|strong="H4191"; none|strong="H3808" of us shall withhold|strong="H3607" from thee his sepulchre|strong="H6913", but that thou mayest bury|strong="H6912" thy dead|strong="H4191".
And Abraham|strong="H0085" stood up|strong="H6965", and bowed|strong="H7812" himself to the people|strong="H5971" of the land|strong="H0776", even to the children|strong="H1121" of Heth|strong="H2845".
And he communed|strong="H1696" with them, saying|strong="H0559", If it be|strong="H3426" your mind|strong="H5315" that I should bury|strong="H6912" my dead|strong="H4191" out of my sight|strong="H6440"; hear|strong="H8085" me, and intreat|strong="H6293" for me to Ephron|strong="H6085" the son|strong="H1121" of Zohar|strong="H6714",
That he may give|strong="H5414" me the cave|strong="H4631" of Machpelah|strong="H4375", which he hath, which is in the end|strong="H7097" of his field|strong="H7704"; for as much|strong="H4392" money|strong="H3701" as it is worth|strong="H4392" he shall give it|strong="H5414" me for a possession|strong="H0272" of a buryingplace|strong="H6913" amongst you|strong="H8432".
And Ephron|strong="H6085" dwelt|strong="H3427" among|strong="H8432" the children|strong="H1121" of Heth|strong="H2845": and Ephron|strong="H6085" the Hittite|strong="H2850" answered|strong="H6030" Abraham|strong="H0085" in the audience|strong="H0241" of the children|strong="H1121" of Heth|strong="H2845", even of all that went in|strong="H0935" at the gate|strong="H8179" of his city|strong="H5892", saying|strong="H0559",
Nay|strong="H3808", my lord|strong="H0113", hear me|strong="H8085": the field|strong="H7704" give I|strong="H5414" thee, and the cave|strong="H4631" that is therein, I give it|strong="H5414" thee; in the presence|strong="H5869" of the sons|strong="H1121" of my people|strong="H5971" give|strong="H5414" I it thee: bury|strong="H6912" thy dead|strong="H4191".
And Abraham|strong="H0085" bowed down|strong="H7812" himself before|strong="H6440" the people|strong="H5971" of the land|strong="H0776".
And he spake|strong="H1696" unto Ephron|strong="H6085" in the audience|strong="H0241" of the people|strong="H5971" of the land|strong="H0776", saying|strong="H0559", But if thou wilt give it, I pray thee|strong="H3863", hear|strong="H8085" me: I will give|strong="H5414" thee money|strong="H3701" for the field|strong="H7704"; take|strong="H3947" it of me, and I will bury|strong="H6912" my dead|strong="H4191" there.
And Ephron|strong="H6085" answered|strong="H6030" Abraham|strong="H0085", saying|strong="H0559" unto him,
My lord|strong="H0113", hearken|strong="H8085" unto me: the land|strong="H0776" is worth four|strong="H0702" hundred|strong="H3967" shekels|strong="H8255" of silver|strong="H3701"; what is that betwixt|strong="H0996" me and thee? bury|strong="H6912" therefore thy dead|strong="H4191".
And Abraham|strong="H0085" hearkened|strong="H8085" unto Ephron|strong="H6085"; and Abraham|strong="H0085" weighed|strong="H8254" to Ephron|strong="H6085" the silver|strong="H3701", which he had named|strong="H1696" in the audience|strong="H0241" of the sons|strong="H1121" of Heth|strong="H2845", four|strong="H0702" hundred|strong="H3967" shekels|strong="H8255" of silver|strong="H3701", current|strong="H5674" money with the merchant|strong="H5503".
And the field|strong="H7704" of Ephron|strong="H6085", which was in Machpelah|strong="H4375", which was before|strong="H6440" Mamre|strong="H4471", the field|strong="H7704", and the cave|strong="H4631" which was therein, and all the trees|strong="H6086" that were in the field|strong="H7704", that were in all the borders|strong="H1366" round about|strong="H5439", were made sure|strong="H6965"
Unto Abraham|strong="H0085" for a possession|strong="H4736" in the presence|strong="H5869" of the children|strong="H1121" of Heth|strong="H2845", before all that went in|strong="H0935" at the gate|strong="H8179" of his city|strong="H5892".
And after|strong="H0310" this|strong="H3651", Abraham|strong="H0085" buried|strong="H6912" Sarah|strong="H8283" his wife|strong="H0802" in the cave|strong="H4631" of the field|strong="H7704" of Machpelah|strong="H4375" before|strong="H6440" Mamre|strong="H4471": the same is Hebron|strong="H2275" in the land|strong="H0776" of Canaan|strong="H3667".
And the field|strong="H7704", and the cave|strong="H4631" that is therein, were made sure|strong="H6965" unto Abraham|strong="H0085" for a possession|strong="H0272" of a buryingplace|strong="H6913" by the sons|strong="H1121" of Heth|strong="H2845".
