1 No mundo todo havia apenas uma língua, um só modo de falar.
2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed|strong="H5265" from the east|strong="H6924", that they found|strong="H4672" a plain|strong="H1237" in the land|strong="H0776" of Shinar|strong="H8152"; and they dwelt|strong="H3427" there.
2 Saindo os homens do Oriente, encontraram uma planície em Sinear e ali se fixaram.
3 And they said|strong="H0559" one|strong="H0376" to another|strong="H7453", Go to|strong="H3051", let us make|strong="H3835" brick|strong="H3843", and burn|strong="H8313" them throughly|strong="H8316". And they had brick|strong="H3843" for stone|strong="H0068", and slime|strong="H2564" had|strong="H1961" they for morter|strong="H2563".
3 Disseram uns aos outros: "Vamos fazer tijolos e queimá-los bem". Usavam tijolos em lugar de pedras, e piche em vez de argamassa.
4 And they said|strong="H0559", Go to|strong="H3051", let us build|strong="H1129" us a city|strong="H5892" and a tower|strong="H4026", whose top|strong="H7218" may reach unto heaven|strong="H8064"; and let us make|strong="H6213" us a name|strong="H8034", lest we be scattered abroad|strong="H6327" upon the face|strong="H6440" of the whole earth|strong="H0776".
4 Depois disseram: "Vamos construir uma cidade, com uma torre que alcance os céus. Assim nosso nome será famoso e não seremos espalhados pela face da terra".
5 And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* came down|strong="H3381" to see|strong="H7200" the city|strong="H5892" and the tower|strong="H4026", which the children|strong="H1121" of men|strong="H0120" builded|strong="H1129".
5 O Senhor desceu para ver a cidade e a torre que os homens estavam construindo.
6 And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* said|strong="H0559", Behold, the people|strong="H5971" is one|strong="H0259", and they have all one|strong="H0259" language|strong="H8193"; and this they begin|strong="H2490" to do|strong="H6213": and now nothing|strong="H3808" will be restrained|strong="H1219" from them, which they have imagined|strong="H2161" to do|strong="H6213".
6 E disse o Senhor: "Eles são um só povo e falam uma só língua, e começaram a construir isso. Em breve nada poderá impedir o que planejam fazer.
7 Go to|strong="H3051", let us go down|strong="H3381", and there confound|strong="H1101" their language|strong="H8193", that|strong="H0834" they may not understand|strong="H8085" one|strong="H0376" another’s|strong="H7453" speech|strong="H8193".
7 Venham, desçamos e confundamos a língua que falam, para que não entendam mais uns aos outros".
8 So the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* scattered them abroad|strong="H6327" from thence|strong="H8033" upon the face|strong="H6440" of all the earth|strong="H0776": and they left off|strong="H2308" to build|strong="H1129" the city|strong="H5892".
8 Assim o Senhor os dispersou dali por toda a terra, e pararam de construir a cidade.
9 Therefore is the name of it|strong="H8034" called|strong="H7121" Babel|strong="H0894"; because the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* did there confound|strong="H1101" the language|strong="H8193" of all the earth|strong="H0776": and from thence did|strong="H6327" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* scatter them abroad|strong="H6327" upon the face|strong="H6440" of all the earth|strong="H0776".
9 Por isso foi chamada Babel, porque ali o Senhor confundiu a língua de todo o mundo. Dali o Senhor os espalhou por toda a terra.
10 These are the generations|strong="H8435" of Shem|strong="H8035": Shem|strong="H8035" was an hundred|strong="H3967" years|strong="H8141" old|strong="H1121", and begat|strong="H3205" Arphaxad|strong="H0775" two years|strong="H8141" after|strong="H0310" the flood|strong="H3999":
10 Este é o registro da descendência de Sem: Dois anos depois do Dilúvio, aos 100 anos de idade, Sem gerou Arfaxade.
11 And Shem|strong="H8035" lived|strong="H2421" after|strong="H0310" he begat|strong="H3205" Arphaxad|strong="H0775" five|strong="H2568" hundred|strong="H3967" years|strong="H8141", and begat|strong="H3205" sons|strong="H1121" and daughters|strong="H1323".
11 E depois de ter gerado Arfaxade, Sem viveu 500 anos e gerou outros filhos e filhas.
12 And Arphaxad|strong="H0775" lived|strong="H2425" five|strong="H2568" and thirty|strong="H7970" years|strong="H8141", and begat|strong="H3205" Salah|strong="H7974":
12 Aos 35 anos, Arfaxade gerou Salá.
13 And Arphaxad|strong="H0775" lived|strong="H2421" after|strong="H0310" he begat|strong="H3205" Salah|strong="H7974" four|strong="H0702" hundred|strong="H3967" and three|strong="H7969" years|strong="H8141", and begat|strong="H3205" sons|strong="H1121" and daughters|strong="H1323".
13 Depois que gerou Salá, Arfaxade viveu 403 anos e gerou outros filhos e filhas.

14 Aos 30 anos, Salá gerou Héber.
15 And Salah|strong="H7974" lived|strong="H2421" after|strong="H0310" he begat|strong="H3205" Eber|strong="H5677" four|strong="H0702" hundred|strong="H3967" and three|strong="H7969" years|strong="H8141", and begat|strong="H3205" sons|strong="H1121" and daughters|strong="H1323".
15 Depois que gerou Héber, Salá viveu 403 anos e gerou outros filhos e filhas.

16 Aos 34 anos, Héber gerou Pelegue.

17 Depois que gerou Pelegue, Héber viveu 430 anos e gerou outros filhos e filhas.
18 And Peleg|strong="H6389" lived|strong="H2421" thirty|strong="H7970" years|strong="H8141", and begat|strong="H3205" Reu|strong="H7466":
18 Aos 30 anos, Pelegue gerou Reú.
19 And Peleg|strong="H6389" lived|strong="H2421" after|strong="H0310" he begat|strong="H3205" Reu|strong="H7466" two hundred|strong="H3967" and nine|strong="H8672" years|strong="H8141", and begat|strong="H3205" sons|strong="H1121" and daughters|strong="H1323".
19 Depois que gerou Reú, Pelegue viveu 209 anos e gerou outros filhos e filhas.
20 And Reu|strong="H7466" lived|strong="H2421" two|strong="H8147" and thirty|strong="H7970" years|strong="H8141", and begat|strong="H3205" Serug|strong="H8286":
20 Aos 32 anos, Reú gerou Serugue.
21 And Reu|strong="H7466" lived|strong="H2421" after|strong="H0310" he begat|strong="H3205" Serug|strong="H8286" two hundred|strong="H3967" and seven|strong="H7651" years|strong="H8141", and begat|strong="H3205" sons|strong="H1121" and daughters|strong="H1323".
21 Depois que gerou Serugue, Reú viveu 207 anos e gerou outros filhos e filhas.

22 Aos 30 anos, Serugue gerou Naor.

23 Depois que gerou Naor, Serugue viveu 200 anos e gerou outros filhos e filhas.
24 And Nahor|strong="H5152" lived|strong="H2421" nine|strong="H8672" and twenty|strong="H6242" years|strong="H8141", and begat|strong="H3205" Terah|strong="H8646":
24 Aos 29 anos, Naor gerou Terá.
25 And Nahor|strong="H5152" lived|strong="H2421" after|strong="H0310" he begat|strong="H3205" Terah|strong="H8646" an hundred|strong="H3967" and nineteen|strong="H6240" years|strong="H8141", and begat|strong="H3205" sons|strong="H1121" and daughters|strong="H1323".
25 Depois que gerou Terá, Naor viveu 119 anos e gerou outros filhos e filhas.
26 And Terah|strong="H8646" lived|strong="H2421" seventy|strong="H7657" years|strong="H8141", and begat|strong="H3205" Abram|strong="H0087", Nahor|strong="H5152", and Haran|strong="H2039".
26 Aos 70 anos, Terá havia gerado Abrão, Naor e Harã.
27 Now these are the generations|strong="H8435" of Terah|strong="H8646": Terah|strong="H8646" begat|strong="H3205" Abram|strong="H0087", Nahor|strong="H5152", and Haran|strong="H2039"; and Haran|strong="H2039" begat|strong="H3205" Lot|strong="H3876".
27 Esta é a história da família de Terá: Terá gerou Abrão, Naor e Harã. E Harã gerou Ló.
28 And Haran|strong="H2039" died|strong="H4191" before|strong="H6440" his father|strong="H0001" Terah|strong="H8646" in the land|strong="H0776" of his nativity|strong="H4138", in Ur|strong="H0218" of the Chaldees|strong="H3778".
28 Harã morreu em Ur dos caldeus, sua terra natal, quando ainda vivia Terá, seu pai.
29 And Abram|strong="H0087" and Nahor|strong="H5152" took|strong="H3947" them wives|strong="H0802": the name|strong="H8034" of Abram’s|strong="H0087" wife|strong="H0802" was Sarai|strong="H8297"; and the name|strong="H8034" of Nahor’s|strong="H5152" wife|strong="H0802", Milcah|strong="H4435", the daughter|strong="H1323" of Haran|strong="H2039", the father|strong="H0001" of Milcah|strong="H4435", and the father|strong="H0001" of Iscah|strong="H3252".
29 Tanto Abrão como Naor casaram-se. O nome da mulher de Abrão era Sarai, e o nome da mulher de Naor era Milca; esta era filha de Harã, pai de Milca e de Iscá.
30 But Sarai|strong="H8297" was barren|strong="H6135"; she had no child|strong="H2056".
30 Ora, Sarai era estéril; não tinha filhos.
31 And Terah|strong="H8646" took|strong="H3947" Abram|strong="H0087" his son|strong="H1121", and Lot|strong="H3876" the son|strong="H1121" of Haran|strong="H2039" his son’s|strong="H1121" son|strong="H1121", and Sarai|strong="H8297" his daughter in law|strong="H3618", his son|strong="H1121" Abram’s|strong="H0087" wife|strong="H0802"; and they went forth|strong="H3318" with them from Ur|strong="H0218" of the Chaldees|strong="H3778", to go|strong="H3212" into the land|strong="H0776" of Canaan|strong="H3667"; and they came|strong="H0935" unto Haran|strong="H2771", and dwelt|strong="H3427" there.
31 Terá tomou seu filho Abrão, seu neto Ló, filho de Harã, e sua nora Sarai, mulher de seu filho Abrão, e juntos partiram de Ur dos caldeus para Canaã. Mas, ao chegarem a Harã, estabeleceram-se ali.
32 And the days|strong="H3117" of Terah|strong="H8646" were two hundred|strong="H3967" and five|strong="H2568" years|strong="H8141": and Terah|strong="H8646" died|strong="H4191" in Haran|strong="H2771".
32 Terá viveu 205 anos e morreu em Harã.
