1 Now it came to pass in the thirtieth|strong="H7970" year|strong="H8141", in the fourth|strong="H7243" month, in the fifth|strong="H2568" day of the month|strong="H2320", as I was among|strong="H8432" the captives|strong="H1473" by the river|strong="H5104" of Chebar|strong="H3529", that the heavens|strong="H8064" were opened|strong="H6605", and I saw|strong="H7200" visions|strong="H4759" of God|strong="H0430".
2 In the fifth|strong="H2568" day of the month|strong="H2320", which was the fifth|strong="H2549" year|strong="H8141" of king|strong="H4428" Jehoiachin’s|strong="H3112" captivity|strong="H1546",
3 The word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* came expressly unto Ezekiel|strong="H3168" the priest|strong="H3548", the son|strong="H1121" of Buzi|strong="H0941", in the land|strong="H0776" of the Chaldeans|strong="H3778" by the river|strong="H5104" Chebar|strong="H3529"; and the hand|strong="H3027" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* was there upon him.
4 And I looked|strong="H7200", and, behold, a whirlwind|strong="H7307" came|strong="H0935" out of the north|strong="H6828", a great|strong="H1419" cloud|strong="H6051", and a fire|strong="H0784" infolding|strong="H3947" itself, and a brightness|strong="H5051" was about|strong="H5439" it, and out of the midst|strong="H8432" thereof as the colour|strong="H5869" of amber|strong="H2830", out of the midst|strong="H8432" of the fire|strong="H0784".
5 Also out of the midst|strong="H8432" thereof came the likeness|strong="H1823" of four|strong="H0702" living creatures|strong="H2416". And this was their appearance|strong="H4758"; they|strong="H2007" had the likeness|strong="H1823" of a man|strong="H0120".
6 And every one|strong="H0259" had four|strong="H0702" faces|strong="H6440", and every one|strong="H0259" had four|strong="H0702" wings|strong="H3671".
7 And their feet|strong="H7272" were straight|strong="H3477" feet|strong="H7272"; and the sole|strong="H3709" of their feet|strong="H7272" was like the sole|strong="H3709" of a calf’s|strong="H5695" foot|strong="H7272": and they sparkled|strong="H5340" like the colour|strong="H5869" of burnished|strong="H7044" brass|strong="H5178".
8 And they had the hands|strong="H3027" of a man|strong="H0120" under their wings|strong="H3671" on their four|strong="H0702" sides|strong="H7253"; and they four|strong="H0702" had their faces|strong="H6440" and their wings|strong="H3671".
9 Their wings|strong="H3671" were joined|strong="H2266" one|strong="H0802" to another|strong="H0269"; they turned|strong="H5437" not when they went|strong="H3212"; they went|strong="H3212" every one|strong="H0376" straight|strong="H5676" forward|strong="H6440".
10 As for the likeness|strong="H1823" of their faces|strong="H6440", they four|strong="H0702" had the face|strong="H6440" of a man|strong="H0120", and the face|strong="H6440" of a lion|strong="H0738", on the right side|strong="H3225": and they four|strong="H0702" had the face|strong="H6440" of an ox|strong="H7794" on the left side|strong="H8040"; they four|strong="H0702" also had the face|strong="H6440" of an eagle|strong="H5404".
11 Thus were their faces|strong="H6440": and their wings|strong="H3671" were stretched|strong="H6504" upward|strong="H4605"; two|strong="H8147" wings of every one|strong="H0376" were joined|strong="H2266" one|strong="H0376" to another|strong="H0376", and two|strong="H8147" covered|strong="H3680" their bodies|strong="H1472".
12 And they went|strong="H3212" every one|strong="H0376" straight|strong="H5676" forward|strong="H6440": whither the spirit|strong="H7307" was to go|strong="H3212", they went|strong="H3212"; and they turned|strong="H5437" not when they went|strong="H3212".
13 As for the likeness|strong="H1823" of the living creatures|strong="H2416", their appearance|strong="H4758" was like burning|strong="H1197" coals|strong="H1513" of fire|strong="H0784", and like the appearance|strong="H4758" of lamps|strong="H3940": it went up and down|strong="H1980" among the living creatures|strong="H2416"; and the fire|strong="H0784" was bright|strong="H5051", and out of the fire|strong="H0784" went forth|strong="H3318" lightning|strong="H1300".
14 And the living creatures|strong="H2416" ran|strong="H7519" and returned|strong="H7725" as the appearance|strong="H4758" of a flash of lightning|strong="H0965".
15 Now as I beheld|strong="H7200" the living creatures|strong="H2416", behold one|strong="H0259" wheel|strong="H0212" upon the earth|strong="H0776" by|strong="H0681" the living creatures|strong="H2416", with his four|strong="H0702" faces|strong="H6440".
16 The appearance|strong="H4758" of the wheels|strong="H0212" and their work|strong="H4639" was like unto the colour|strong="H5869" of a beryl|strong="H8658": and they four|strong="H0702" had one|strong="H0259" likeness|strong="H1823": and their appearance|strong="H4758" and their work|strong="H4639" was as it were a wheel|strong="H0212" in the middle|strong="H8432" of a wheel|strong="H0212".
17 When they went|strong="H3212", they went|strong="H3212" upon their four|strong="H0702" sides|strong="H7253": and they turned|strong="H5437" not when they went|strong="H3212".
18 As for their rings|strong="H1354", they were so high|strong="H1363" that they were dreadful|strong="H3374"; and their rings|strong="H1354" were full|strong="H4392" of eyes|strong="H5869" round about|strong="H5439" them four|strong="H0702".
19 And when the living creatures|strong="H2416" went|strong="H3212", the wheels|strong="H0212" went|strong="H3212" by them|strong="H0681": and when the living creatures|strong="H2416" were lifted up|strong="H5375" from the earth|strong="H0776", the wheels|strong="H0212" were lifted up|strong="H5375".
20 Whithersoever the spirit|strong="H7307" was to go|strong="H3212", they went|strong="H3212", thither was their spirit|strong="H7307" to go|strong="H3212"; and the wheels|strong="H0212" were lifted up|strong="H5375" over against|strong="H5980" them: for the spirit|strong="H7307" of the living creature|strong="H2416" was in the wheels|strong="H0212".
21 When those went|strong="H3212", these went|strong="H3212"; and when those stood|strong="H5975", these stood|strong="H5975"; and when those were lifted up|strong="H5375" from the earth|strong="H0776", the wheels|strong="H0212" were lifted up|strong="H5375" over against|strong="H5980" them: for the spirit|strong="H7307" of the living creature|strong="H2416" was in the wheels|strong="H0212".
22 And the likeness|strong="H1823" of the firmament|strong="H7549" upon the heads|strong="H7218" of the living creature|strong="H2416" was as the colour|strong="H5869" of the terrible|strong="H3372" crystal|strong="H7140", stretched forth|strong="H5186" over their heads|strong="H7218" above|strong="H4605".
23 And under the firmament|strong="H7549" were their wings|strong="H3671" straight|strong="H3477", the one|strong="H0802" toward the other|strong="H0269": every one|strong="H0376" had two|strong="H8147", which covered|strong="H3680" on this side|strong="H2007", and every one|strong="H0376" had two|strong="H8147", which covered|strong="H3680" on that side|strong="H2007", their bodies|strong="H1472".
24 And when they went|strong="H3212", I heard|strong="H8085" the noise|strong="H6963" of their wings|strong="H3671", like the noise|strong="H6963" of great|strong="H7227" waters|strong="H4325", as the voice|strong="H6963" of the Almighty|strong="H7706", the voice|strong="H6963" of speech|strong="H1999", as the noise|strong="H6963" of an host|strong="H4264": when they stood|strong="H5975", they let down|strong="H7503" their wings|strong="H3671".
25 And there was a voice|strong="H6963" from the firmament|strong="H7549" that was over their heads|strong="H7218", when they stood|strong="H5975", and had let down|strong="H7503" their wings|strong="H3671".
26 And above|strong="H4605" the firmament|strong="H7549" that was over their heads|strong="H7218" was the likeness|strong="H1823" of a throne|strong="H3678", as the appearance|strong="H4758" of a sapphire|strong="H5601" stone|strong="H0068": and upon the likeness|strong="H1823" of the throne|strong="H3678" was the likeness|strong="H1823" as the appearance|strong="H4758" of a man|strong="H0120" above|strong="H4605" upon it.
27 And I saw|strong="H7200" as the colour|strong="H5869" of amber|strong="H2830", as the appearance|strong="H4758" of fire|strong="H0784" round about|strong="H5439" within|strong="H1004" it, from the appearance|strong="H4758" of his loins|strong="H4975" even upward|strong="H4605", and from the appearance|strong="H4758" of his loins|strong="H4975" even downward|strong="H4295", I saw|strong="H7200" as it were the appearance|strong="H4758" of fire|strong="H0784", and it had brightness|strong="H5051" round about|strong="H5439".
28 As the appearance|strong="H4758" of the bow|strong="H7198" that is in the cloud|strong="H6051" in the day|strong="H3117" of rain|strong="H1653", so was the appearance|strong="H4758" of the brightness|strong="H5051" round about|strong="H5439". This was the appearance|strong="H4758" of the likeness|strong="H1823" of the glory|strong="H3519" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*. And when I saw|strong="H7200" it, I fell|strong="H5307" upon my face|strong="H6440", and I heard|strong="H8085" a voice|strong="H6963" of one that spake|strong="H1696".
