And|strong="G1161" after|strong="G3326" five|strong="G4002" days|strong="G2250" Ananias|strong="G0367" the high priest|strong="G0749" descended|strong="G2597" with|strong="G3326" the elders|strong="G4245", and|strong="G2532" with a certain|strong="G5100" orator|strong="G4489" named Tertullus|strong="G5061", who|strong="G3748" informed|strong="G1718" the governor|strong="G2232" against|strong="G2596" Paul|strong="G3972".
And|strong="G1161" when he|strong="G0846" was called forth|strong="G2564", Tertullus|strong="G5061" began|strong="G0756" to accuse|strong="G2723" him, saying|strong="G3004", Seeing that by|strong="G1223" thee|strong="G4675" we enjoy|strong="G5177" great|strong="G4183" quietness|strong="G1515", and that|strong="G2532" very worthy deeds|strong="G2735" are done|strong="G1096" unto this|strong="G5129" nation|strong="G1484" by|strong="G1223" thy|strong="G4674" providence|strong="G4307",
We accept|strong="G0588" it always|strong="G3839", and|strong="G2532" in all places|strong="G3837", most noble|strong="G2903" Felix|strong="G5344", with|strong="G3326" all|strong="G3956" thankfulness|strong="G2169".
Notwithstanding|strong="G1161", that|strong="G2443" I be|strong="G1465" not|strong="G3361" further|strong="G4119" tedious|strong="G1465" unto|strong="G1909" thee|strong="G4571", I pray|strong="G3870" thee|strong="G4571" that thou wouldest hear|strong="G0191" us|strong="G2257" of thy|strong="G4674" clemency|strong="G1932" a few words|strong="G4935".
For|strong="G1063" we have found|strong="G2147" this|strong="G5126" man|strong="G0435" a pestilent|strong="G3061" fellow, and|strong="G2532" a mover|strong="G2795" of sedition|strong="G4714" among|strong="G3956" all the Jews|strong="G2453" throughout|strong="G2596" the world|strong="G3625", and|strong="G5037" a ringleader|strong="G4414" of the sect|strong="G0139" of the Nazarenes|strong="G3480":
Who|strong="G3739" also|strong="G2532" hath gone about|strong="G3985" to profane|strong="G0953" the temple|strong="G2411": whom|strong="G3739" we took|strong="G2902", and|strong="G2532" would have|strong="G2309" judged|strong="G2919" according to|strong="G2596" our|strong="G2251" law|strong="G3551".
But|strong="G1161" the chief captain|strong="G5506" Lysias|strong="G3079" came|strong="G3928" upon us, and with|strong="G3326" great|strong="G4183" violence|strong="G0970" took|strong="G0520" him away|strong="G0520" out of|strong="G1537" our|strong="G2257" hands|strong="G5495",
Commanding|strong="G2753" his|strong="G0846" accusers|strong="G2725" to come|strong="G2064" unto|strong="G1909" thee|strong="G4571": by examining|strong="G0350" of|strong="G3844" whom|strong="G3739" thyself|strong="G0846" mayest|strong="G1410" take knowledge|strong="G1921" of|strong="G4012" all|strong="G3956" these things|strong="G5130", whereof|strong="G3739" we|strong="G2249" accuse|strong="G2723" him|strong="G0846".
And|strong="G1161" the Jews|strong="G2453" also|strong="G2532" assented|strong="G4934", saying that|strong="G5335" these things|strong="G5023" were|strong="G2192" so|strong="G3779".
Then|strong="G1161" Paul|strong="G3972", after that|strong="G1161" the governor|strong="G2232" had beckoned|strong="G3506" unto him|strong="G0846" to speak|strong="G3004", answered|strong="G0611", Forasmuch|strong="G4012" as I know that|strong="G1987" thou|strong="G4571" hast been|strong="G5607" of|strong="G1537" many|strong="G4183" years|strong="G2094" a judge|strong="G2923" unto this|strong="G5129" nation|strong="G1484", I do the more cheerfully|strong="G2115" answer for|strong="G0626" myself|strong="G1683":
Because that|strong="G3754" thou|strong="G4675" mayest|strong="G1410" understand|strong="G1097", that there are|strong="G1526" yet|strong="G4119" but|strong="G2228" twelve|strong="G1177" days|strong="G2250" since|strong="G0575" I went up|strong="G0305" to|strong="G1722" Jerusalem|strong="G2419" for to worship|strong="G4352".
And|strong="G2532" they|strong="G2147" neither|strong="G3777" found|strong="G2147" me|strong="G3165" in|strong="G1722" the temple|strong="G2411" disputing|strong="G1256" with|strong="G4314" any man|strong="G5100", neither|strong="G2228" raising up|strong="G1999" the people|strong="G3793", neither|strong="G3777" in|strong="G1722" the synagogues|strong="G4864", nor|strong="G3777" in|strong="G2596" the city|strong="G4172":
Neither|strong="G3777" can they|strong="G1410" prove the things|strong="G3936" whereof|strong="G4012" they|strong="G3568" now|strong="G3568" accuse|strong="G2723" me|strong="G3450".
But|strong="G1161" this|strong="G5124" I confess|strong="G3670" unto thee|strong="G4671", that|strong="G3754" after|strong="G2596" the way|strong="G3598" which|strong="G3739" they call|strong="G3004" heresy|strong="G0139", so|strong="G3779" worship I|strong="G3000" the God|strong="G2316" of my fathers|strong="G3971", believing|strong="G4100" all things|strong="G3956" which|strong="G3588" are written|strong="G1125" in|strong="G2596" the law|strong="G3551" and|strong="G2532" in the prophets|strong="G4396":
And have|strong="G2192" hope|strong="G1680" toward|strong="G1519" God|strong="G2316", which|strong="G3739" they|strong="G0846" themselves|strong="G3778" also|strong="G2532" allow|strong="G4327", that there shall|strong="G3195" be|strong="G2071" a resurrection|strong="G0386" of the dead|strong="G3498", both|strong="G5037" of the just|strong="G1342" and|strong="G2532" unjust|strong="G0094".
And|strong="G1161" herein|strong="G5129" do I exercise|strong="G0778" myself|strong="G0846", to have|strong="G2192" always|strong="G1275" a conscience|strong="G4893" void of offence|strong="G0677" toward|strong="G4314" God|strong="G2316", and|strong="G2532" toward men|strong="G0444".
Now|strong="G1161" after|strong="G1223" many|strong="G4119" years|strong="G2094" I came|strong="G3854" to bring|strong="G4160" alms|strong="G1654" to|strong="G1519" my|strong="G3450" nation|strong="G1484", and|strong="G2532" offerings|strong="G4376".
Whereupon|strong="G3739" certain|strong="G5100" Jews|strong="G0773" from|strong="G1161" Asia|strong="G3588" found|strong="G2147" me|strong="G3165" purified|strong="G0048" in|strong="G1722" the temple|strong="G2411", neither|strong="G3756" with|strong="G3326" multitude|strong="G3793", nor|strong="G3761" with|strong="G3326" tumult|strong="G2351".
Who|strong="G3739" ought|strong="G1163" to have been here|strong="G3918" before|strong="G1909" thee|strong="G4675", and|strong="G2532" object|strong="G2723", if|strong="G1487" they had|strong="G2192" ought|strong="G5100" against|strong="G4314" me|strong="G3165".
Or else|strong="G2228" let|strong="G2036" these|strong="G3778" same|strong="G0846" here say|strong="G2036", if|strong="G1487" they have found|strong="G2147" any|strong="G5100" evil doing|strong="G0092" in|strong="G1722" me|strong="G1698", while I|strong="G3450" stood|strong="G2476" before|strong="G1909" the council|strong="G4892",
Except|strong="G2228" it be for|strong="G4012" this|strong="G3778" one|strong="G1520" voice|strong="G5456", that|strong="G3739" I cried|strong="G2896" standing|strong="G2476" among|strong="G1722" them|strong="G0846", Touching|strong="G4012" the resurrection|strong="G0386" of the dead|strong="G3498" I|strong="G1473" am called in question|strong="G2919" by|strong="G5259" you|strong="G5216" this day|strong="G4594".
And|strong="G1161" when Felix|strong="G5344" heard|strong="G0191" these things|strong="G5023", having|strong="G1492" more perfect|strong="G0199" knowledge|strong="G1492" of|strong="G4012" that way|strong="G3598", he deferred|strong="G0306" them|strong="G0846", and said|strong="G2036", When|strong="G3752" Lysias|strong="G3079" the chief captain|strong="G5506" shall come down|strong="G2597", I will know the uttermost|strong="G1231" of your|strong="G5209" matter|strong="G2596".
And|strong="G5037" he commanded|strong="G1299" a centurion|strong="G1543" to keep|strong="G5083" Paul|strong="G3972", and|strong="G5037" to let|strong="G2192" him have|strong="G2192" liberty|strong="G0425", and|strong="G2532" that he should forbid|strong="G2967" none|strong="G3367" of his|strong="G0846" acquaintance|strong="G2398" to minister|strong="G5256" or|strong="G2228" come unto|strong="G4334" him|strong="G0846".
And|strong="G1161" after|strong="G3326" certain|strong="G5100" days|strong="G2250", when|strong="G3854" Felix|strong="G5344" came|strong="G3854" with|strong="G4862" his|strong="G0846" wife|strong="G1135" Drusilla|strong="G1409", which|strong="G5607" was a Jewess|strong="G2453", he sent for|strong="G3343" Paul|strong="G3972", and|strong="G2532" heard|strong="G0191" him|strong="G0846" concerning|strong="G4012" the faith|strong="G4102" in|strong="G1519" Christ|strong="G5547".
And as|strong="G1161" he|strong="G0846" reasoned|strong="G1256" of|strong="G4012" righteousness|strong="G1343", temperance|strong="G1466", and|strong="G2532" judgment|strong="G2917" to|strong="G3195" come|strong="G2071", Felix|strong="G5344" trembled|strong="G1719", and answered|strong="G0611", Go thy way|strong="G4198" for this time|strong="G3568"; when|strong="G1161" I have|strong="G2192" a convenient season|strong="G2540", I will call|strong="G3333" for thee|strong="G4571".
He hoped|strong="G1679" also|strong="G2532" that|strong="G3754" money|strong="G5536" should have been given|strong="G1325" him|strong="G0846" of|strong="G5259" Paul|strong="G3972", that|strong="G3704" he might loose|strong="G3089" him|strong="G0846": wherefore|strong="G1352" he sent for|strong="G3343" him|strong="G0846" the oftener|strong="G4437", and communed|strong="G3656" with|strong="G0260" him|strong="G0846".
But|strong="G1161" after|strong="G4137" two years|strong="G1333" Porcius|strong="G4201" Festus|strong="G5347" came|strong="G2983" into|strong="G1240" Felix’ room|strong="G5344": and|strong="G5037" Felix|strong="G5344", willing|strong="G2309" to shew|strong="G2698" the Jews|strong="G2453" a pleasure|strong="G5485", left|strong="G1210" Paul|strong="G3972" bound|strong="G2641".
