In those days|strong="H3117" was Hezekiah|strong="H2396" sick|strong="H2470" unto death|strong="H4191". And the prophet|strong="H5030" Isaiah|strong="H3470" the son|strong="H1121" of Amoz|strong="H0531" came|strong="H0935" to him, and said|strong="H0559" unto him, Thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, Set thine house|strong="H1004" in order|strong="H6680"; for thou shalt die|strong="H4191", and not live|strong="H2421".
Then he turned|strong="H5437" his face|strong="H6440" to the wall|strong="H7023", and prayed|strong="H6419" unto the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, saying|strong="H0559",
I beseech|strong="H0577" thee, O \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, remember|strong="H2142" now how I have walked|strong="H1980" before|strong="H6440" thee in truth|strong="H0571" and with a perfect|strong="H8003" heart|strong="H3824", and have done|strong="H6213" that which is good|strong="H2896" in thy sight|strong="H5869". And Hezekiah|strong="H2396" wept|strong="H1058" sore|strong="H1419".
And it came to pass, afore Isaiah|strong="H3470" was gone out|strong="H3318" into the middle|strong="H8484" court|strong="H2691", that the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* came to him, saying|strong="H0559",
Turn again|strong="H7725", and tell|strong="H0559" Hezekiah|strong="H2396" the captain|strong="H5057" of my people|strong="H5971", Thus saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, the God|strong="H0430" of David|strong="H1732" thy father|strong="H0001", I have heard|strong="H8085" thy prayer|strong="H8605", I have seen|strong="H7200" thy tears|strong="H1832": behold, I will heal|strong="H7495" thee: on the third|strong="H7992" day|strong="H3117" thou shalt go up|strong="H5927" unto the house|strong="H1004" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
And I will add|strong="H3254" unto thy days|strong="H3117" fifteen|strong="H2568" years|strong="H8141"; and I will deliver|strong="H5337" thee and this city|strong="H5892" out of the hand|strong="H3709" of the king|strong="H4428" of Assyria|strong="H0804"; and I will defend|strong="H1598" this city|strong="H5892" for mine own sake, and for my servant|strong="H5650" David’s|strong="H1732" sake.
And Isaiah|strong="H3470" said|strong="H0559", Take|strong="H3947" a lump|strong="H1690" of figs|strong="H8384". And they took|strong="H3947" and laid|strong="H7760" it on the boil|strong="H7822", and he recovered|strong="H2421".
And Hezekiah|strong="H2396" said|strong="H0559" unto Isaiah|strong="H3470", What shall be the sign|strong="H0226" that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* will heal|strong="H7495" me, and that I shall go up|strong="H5927" into the house|strong="H1004" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* the third|strong="H7992" day|strong="H3117"?
And Isaiah|strong="H3470" said|strong="H0559", This sign|strong="H0226" shalt thou have of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, that the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* will do|strong="H6213" the thing|strong="H1697" that he hath spoken|strong="H1696": shall the shadow|strong="H6738" go forward|strong="H1980" ten|strong="H6235" degrees|strong="H4609", or go back|strong="H7725" ten|strong="H6235" degrees|strong="H4609"?
And Hezekiah|strong="H3169" answered|strong="H0559", It is a light thing|strong="H7043" for the shadow|strong="H6738" to go down|strong="H5186" ten|strong="H6235" degrees|strong="H4609": nay, but let the shadow|strong="H6738" return|strong="H7725" backward|strong="H0322" ten|strong="H6235" degrees|strong="H4609".
And Isaiah|strong="H3470" the prophet|strong="H5030" cried|strong="H7121" unto the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*: and he brought|strong="H7725" the shadow|strong="H6738" ten|strong="H6235" degrees|strong="H4609" backward|strong="H0322", by|strong="H4609" which it had gone down|strong="H3381" in the dial|strong="H4609" of Ahaz|strong="H0271".
At that time|strong="H6256" Berodach-baladan|strong="H1255", the son|strong="H1121" of Baladan|strong="H1081", king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894", sent|strong="H7971" letters|strong="H5612" and a present|strong="H4503" unto Hezekiah|strong="H2396": for he had heard|strong="H8085" that Hezekiah|strong="H2396" had been sick|strong="H2470".
And Hezekiah|strong="H2396" hearkened|strong="H8085" unto them, and shewed|strong="H7200" them all the house|strong="H1004" of his precious things|strong="H5238", the silver|strong="H3701", and the gold|strong="H2091", and the spices|strong="H1314", and the precious|strong="H2896" ointment|strong="H8081", and all the house|strong="H1004" of his armour|strong="H3627", and all that was found|strong="H4672" in his treasures|strong="H0214": there was nothing|strong="H1697" in his house|strong="H1004", nor in all his dominion|strong="H4475", that Hezekiah|strong="H2396" shewed|strong="H7200" them not.
Then came|strong="H0935" Isaiah|strong="H3470" the prophet|strong="H5030" unto king|strong="H4428" Hezekiah|strong="H2396", and said|strong="H0559" unto him, What said|strong="H0559" these men|strong="H0582"? and from whence|strong="H0370" came|strong="H0935" they unto thee? And Hezekiah|strong="H2396" said|strong="H0559", They are come|strong="H0935" from a far|strong="H7350" country|strong="H0776", even from Babylon|strong="H0894".
And he said|strong="H0559", What have they seen|strong="H7200" in thine house|strong="H1004"? And Hezekiah|strong="H2396" answered|strong="H0559", All the things that are in mine house|strong="H1004" have they seen|strong="H7200": there is nothing|strong="H1697" among my treasures|strong="H0214" that I have not shewed|strong="H7200" them.
And Isaiah|strong="H3470" said|strong="H0559" unto Hezekiah|strong="H2396", Hear|strong="H8085" the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
Behold, the days|strong="H3117" come|strong="H0935", that all that is in thine house|strong="H1004", and that which thy fathers|strong="H0001" have laid up in store|strong="H0686" unto this day|strong="H3117", shall be carried|strong="H5375" into Babylon|strong="H0894": nothing|strong="H1697" shall be left|strong="H3498", saith|strong="H0559" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
And of thy sons|strong="H1121" that shall issue|strong="H3318" from thee, which thou shalt beget|strong="H3205", shall they take away|strong="H3947"; and they shall be eunuchs|strong="H5631" in the palace|strong="H1964" of the king|strong="H4428" of Babylon|strong="H0894".
Then said|strong="H0559" Hezekiah|strong="H2396" unto Isaiah|strong="H3470", Good|strong="H2896" is the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* which thou hast spoken|strong="H1696". And he said|strong="H0559", Is it not good, if peace|strong="H7965" and truth|strong="H0571" be in my days|strong="H3117"?
And the rest|strong="H3499" of the acts|strong="H1697" of Hezekiah|strong="H2396", and all his might|strong="H1369", and how he made|strong="H6213" a pool|strong="H1295", and a conduit|strong="H8585", and brought|strong="H0935" water|strong="H4325" into the city|strong="H5892", are they not written|strong="H3789" in the book|strong="H5612" of the chronicles|strong="H1697" of the kings|strong="H4428" of Judah|strong="H3063"?
And Hezekiah|strong="H2396" slept|strong="H7901" with his fathers|strong="H0001": and Manasseh|strong="H4519" his son|strong="H1121" reigned|strong="H4427" in his stead.
