1 And Solomon|strong="H8010" determined|strong="H0559" to build|strong="H1129" an house|strong="H1004" for the name|strong="H8034" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and an house|strong="H1004" for his kingdom|strong="H4438".
2 And Solomon|strong="H8010" told out|strong="H5608" threescore and ten|strong="H7657" thousand|strong="H0505" men|strong="H0376" to bear burdens|strong="H5449", and fourscore|strong="H8084" thousand|strong="H0505" to hew|strong="H2672" in the mountain|strong="H2022", and three|strong="H7969" thousand|strong="H0505" and six|strong="H8337" hundred|strong="H3967" to oversee|strong="H5329" them.
3 And Solomon|strong="H8010" sent|strong="H7971" to Huram|strong="H2361" the king|strong="H4428" of Tyre|strong="H6865", saying|strong="H0559", As thou didst deal|strong="H6213" with David|strong="H1732" my father|strong="H0001", and didst send|strong="H7971" him cedars|strong="H0730" to build|strong="H1129" him an house|strong="H1004" to dwell|strong="H3427" therein, even so deal with me.
4 Behold, I build|strong="H1129" an house|strong="H1004" to the name|strong="H8034" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* my God|strong="H0430", to dedicate|strong="H6942" it to him, and to burn|strong="H6999" before|strong="H6440" him sweet|strong="H5561" incense|strong="H7004", and for the continual|strong="H8548" shewbread|strong="H4635", and for the burnt offerings|strong="H5930" morning|strong="H1242" and evening|strong="H6153", on the sabbaths|strong="H7676", and on the new moons|strong="H2320", and on the solemn feasts|strong="H4150" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* our God|strong="H0430". This is an ordinance for ever|strong="H5769" to Israel|strong="H3478".
5 And the house|strong="H1004" which I build|strong="H1129" is great|strong="H1419": for great|strong="H1419" is our God|strong="H0430" above all gods|strong="H0430".
6 But who is able|strong="H6113" to build|strong="H1129" him an house|strong="H1004", seeing the heaven|strong="H8064" and heaven|strong="H8064" of heavens|strong="H8064" cannot contain|strong="H3557" him? who am I then, that I should build|strong="H1129" him an house|strong="H1004", save only|strong="H0518" to burn sacrifice|strong="H6999" before|strong="H6440" him?
7 Send|strong="H7971" me now therefore a man|strong="H0376" cunning|strong="H2450" to work|strong="H6213" in gold|strong="H2091", and in silver|strong="H3701", and in brass|strong="H5178", and in iron|strong="H1270", and in purple|strong="H0710", and crimson|strong="H3758", and blue|strong="H8504", and that can skill|strong="H3045" to grave|strong="H6605" with the cunning men|strong="H2450" that are with me in Judah|strong="H3063" and in Jerusalem|strong="H3389", whom David|strong="H1732" my father|strong="H0001" did provide|strong="H3559".
8 Send|strong="H7971" me also cedar|strong="H0730" trees|strong="H6086", fir trees|strong="H1265", and algum trees|strong="H0418", out of Lebanon|strong="H3844": for I know|strong="H3045" that thy servants|strong="H5650" can skill|strong="H3045" to cut|strong="H3772" timber|strong="H6086" in Lebanon|strong="H3844"; and, behold, my servants|strong="H5650" shall be with thy servants|strong="H5650",
9 Even to prepare|strong="H3559" me timber|strong="H6086" in abundance|strong="H7230": for the house|strong="H1004" which I am about to build|strong="H1129" shall be wonderful|strong="H6381" great|strong="H1419".
10 And, behold, I will give|strong="H5414" to thy servants|strong="H5650", the hewers|strong="H2404" that cut|strong="H3772" timber|strong="H6086", twenty|strong="H6242" thousand|strong="H0505" measures|strong="H3734" of beaten|strong="H4347" wheat|strong="H2406", and twenty|strong="H6242" thousand|strong="H0505" measures|strong="H3734" of barley|strong="H8184", and twenty|strong="H6242" thousand|strong="H0505" baths|strong="H1324" of wine|strong="H3196", and twenty|strong="H6242" thousand|strong="H0505" baths|strong="H1324" of oil|strong="H8081".
11 Then Huram|strong="H2361" the king|strong="H4428" of Tyre|strong="H6865" answered|strong="H0559" in writing|strong="H3791", which he sent|strong="H7971" to Solomon|strong="H8010", Because the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* hath loved|strong="H0160" his people|strong="H5971", he hath made|strong="H5414" thee king|strong="H4428" over them.
12 Huram|strong="H2361" said|strong="H0559" moreover, Blessed|strong="H1288" be the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* God|strong="H0430" of Israel|strong="H3478", that made|strong="H6213" heaven|strong="H8064" and earth|strong="H0776", who hath given|strong="H5414" to David|strong="H1732" the king|strong="H4428" a wise|strong="H2450" son|strong="H1121", endued|strong="H3045" with prudence|strong="H7922" and understanding|strong="H0998", that might build|strong="H1129" an house|strong="H1004" for the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and an house|strong="H1004" for his kingdom|strong="H4438".
13 And now I have sent|strong="H7971" a cunning|strong="H2450" man|strong="H0376", endued|strong="H3045" with understanding|strong="H0998", of Huram|strong="H2361" my father’s|strong="H0001",
14 The son|strong="H1121" of a woman|strong="H0802" of the daughters|strong="H1323" of Dan|strong="H1835", and his father|strong="H0001" was a man|strong="H0376" of Tyre|strong="H6876", skilful|strong="H3045" to work|strong="H6213" in gold|strong="H2091", and in silver|strong="H3701", in brass|strong="H5178", in iron|strong="H1270", in stone|strong="H0068", and in timber|strong="H6086", in purple|strong="H0713", in blue|strong="H8504", and in fine linen|strong="H0948", and in crimson|strong="H3758"; also to grave|strong="H6605" any manner of graving|strong="H6603", and to find out|strong="H2803" every device|strong="H4284" which shall be put|strong="H5414" to him, with thy cunning men|strong="H2450", and with the cunning men|strong="H2450" of my lord|strong="H0113" David|strong="H1732" thy father|strong="H0001".
15 Now therefore the wheat|strong="H2406", and the barley|strong="H8184", the oil|strong="H8081", and the wine|strong="H3196", which my lord|strong="H0113" hath spoken|strong="H0559" of, let him send|strong="H7971" unto his servants|strong="H5650":
16 And we will cut|strong="H3772" wood|strong="H6086" out of Lebanon|strong="H3844", as much as thou shalt need|strong="H6878": and we will bring|strong="H0935" it to thee in floats|strong="H7513" by sea|strong="H3220" to Joppa|strong="H3305"; and thou shalt carry it up|strong="H5927" to Jerusalem|strong="H3389".
17 And Solomon|strong="H8010" numbered|strong="H5608" all the strangers|strong="H0582" that were in the land|strong="H0776" of Israel|strong="H3478", after|strong="H0310" the numbering|strong="H5610" wherewith David|strong="H1732" his father|strong="H0001" had numbered|strong="H5608" them; and they were found|strong="H4672" an hundred|strong="H3967" and fifty|strong="H2572" thousand|strong="H0505" and three|strong="H7969" thousand|strong="H0505" and six|strong="H8337" hundred|strong="H3967".
18 And he set|strong="H6213" threescore and ten|strong="H7657" thousand|strong="H0505" of them to be bearers of burdens|strong="H5449", and fourscore|strong="H8084" thousand|strong="H0505" to be hewers|strong="H2672" in the mountain|strong="H2022", and three|strong="H7969" thousand|strong="H0505" and six|strong="H8337" hundred|strong="H3967" overseers|strong="H5329" to set|strong="H5647" the people|strong="H5971" a work|strong="H5647".
