1 Assim, não podendo mais esperar, resolvemos ficar sozinhos em Atenas,
2 And|strong="G2532" sent|strong="G3992" Timotheus|strong="G5095", our|strong="G2257" brother|strong="G0080", and|strong="G2532" minister|strong="G1249" of God|strong="G2316", and|strong="G2532" our|strong="G2257" fellowlabourer|strong="G4904" in|strong="G1722" the gospel|strong="G2098" of Christ|strong="G5547", to|strong="G1519" establish|strong="G4741" you|strong="G5209", and|strong="G2532" to comfort|strong="G3870" you|strong="G5209" concerning|strong="G4012" your|strong="G5216" faith|strong="G4102":
2 e enviar-vos Timóteo, nosso irmão e ministro de Deus no Evangelho de Cristo. Ele tem a missão de vos fortalecer e encorajar na vossa fé,
3 That|strong="G3588" no man|strong="G3367" should be moved|strong="G4525" by|strong="G1722" these|strong="G3778" afflictions|strong="G2347": for|strong="G1063" yourselves|strong="G0846" know|strong="G1492" that|strong="G3754" we are appointed|strong="G2749" thereunto|strong="G5124".
3 a fim de que, em meio às presentes tribulações, ninguém se amedronte. Vós mesmos sabeis que esta é a nossa sorte.
4 For|strong="G1063" verily|strong="G2532", when|strong="G3753" we were|strong="G1510" with|strong="G4314" you|strong="G5209", we told|strong="G4302" you|strong="G5213" before|strong="G4302" that|strong="G3754" we should|strong="G3195" suffer tribulation|strong="G2346"; even|strong="G2532" as|strong="G2531" it came to pass|strong="G1096", and|strong="G2532" ye know|strong="G1492".
4 Estando ainda convosco, vos predizíamos que haveríamos de padecer tribulações. É o que aconteceu e estais sabendo.
5 For|strong="G1223" this|strong="G5124" cause|strong="G1223", when I|strong="G2504" could|strong="G4722" no longer|strong="G3371" forbear|strong="G4722", I sent|strong="G3992" to|strong="G1519" know|strong="G1097" your|strong="G5216" faith|strong="G4102", lest by some means|strong="G3381" the tempter|strong="G3985" have tempted|strong="G3985" you|strong="G5209", and|strong="G2532" our|strong="G2257" labour|strong="G2873" be|strong="G1096" in|strong="G1519" vain|strong="G2756".
5 É este o motivo por que, não podendo mais suportar a demora, mandei colher informações a respeito da vossa fé, pois receava que o tentador vos tivesse seduzido e resultasse em nada o nosso trabalho.
6 But|strong="G1161" now|strong="G0737" when|strong="G2064" Timotheus|strong="G5095" came|strong="G2064" from|strong="G0575" you|strong="G5216" unto|strong="G4314" us|strong="G2248", and|strong="G2532" brought|strong="G2097" us|strong="G2254" good tidings|strong="G2097" of your|strong="G5216" faith|strong="G4102" and|strong="G2532" charity|strong="G0026", and|strong="G2532" that|strong="G3754" ye have|strong="G2192" good|strong="G0018" remembrance|strong="G3417" of us|strong="G2257" always|strong="G3842", desiring greatly|strong="G1971" to see|strong="G1492" us|strong="G2248", as|strong="G2509" we|strong="G2249" also|strong="G2532" to see you|strong="G5209":
6 Mas, agora, Timóteo acaba de voltar da visita que vos fez, trazendo excelentes notícias da vossa fé e caridade. Ele nos falou da afetuosa lembrança que de nós sempre guardais e do desejo que tendes de nos rever, desejo que é também nosso.
7 Therefore|strong="G1223", brethren|strong="G0080", we were comforted|strong="G3870" over|strong="G1909" you|strong="G5213" in|strong="G1909" all|strong="G3956" our|strong="G2257" affliction|strong="G2347" and|strong="G2532" distress|strong="G0318" by|strong="G1223" your|strong="G5216" faith|strong="G4102":
7 Assim, irmãos, fomos consolados por vós, no meio de todas as nossas angústias e tribulações, em virtude da vossa fé.
8 For|strong="G3754" now|strong="G3568" we live|strong="G2198", if|strong="G1437" ye|strong="G5210" stand fast|strong="G4739" in|strong="G1722" the Lord|strong="G2962".
8 Agora, sim, tornamos a viver, porque permaneceis firmes no Senhor.
9 For|strong="G1063" what|strong="G5101" thanks|strong="G2169" can we|strong="G1410" render|strong="G0467" to God|strong="G2316" again|strong="G0467" for|strong="G4012" you|strong="G5216", for|strong="G1909" all|strong="G3956" the joy|strong="G5479" wherewith|strong="G3739" we joy|strong="G5463" for|strong="G1223" your|strong="G5209" sakes|strong="G1223" before|strong="G1715" our|strong="G2257" God|strong="G2316";
9 E como poderíamos agradecer a Deus por vós, por toda a alegria que tivemos diante dele por vossa causa?!
10 Night|strong="G3571" and|strong="G2532" day|strong="G2250" praying|strong="G1189" exceedingly|strong="G4057" that|strong="G1519" we might see|strong="G1492" your|strong="G5216" face|strong="G4383", and|strong="G2532" might perfect|strong="G2675" that which is lacking|strong="G5303" in your|strong="G5216" faith|strong="G4102"?
10 Noite e dia, com intenso, extremo fervor, oramos para que nos seja dado ver novamente a vossa face e completar o que ainda falta à vossa fé.
11 Now|strong="G1161" God|strong="G2316" himself|strong="G0846" and|strong="G2532" our|strong="G2257" Father|strong="G3962", and|strong="G2532" our|strong="G2257" Lord|strong="G2962" Jesus|strong="G2424" Christ|strong="G5547", direct|strong="G2720" our|strong="G2257" way|strong="G3598" unto|strong="G4314" you|strong="G5209".
11 Que Deus, nosso Pai, e nosso Senhor Jesus nos preparem o caminho até vós!
12 And|strong="G1161" the Lord|strong="G2962" make|strong="G4121" you|strong="G5209" to increase|strong="G4121" and|strong="G2532" abound|strong="G4052" in love|strong="G0026" one|strong="G0240" toward|strong="G1519" another|strong="G0240", and|strong="G2532" toward|strong="G1519" all|strong="G3956" men, even|strong="G2532" as|strong="G2509" we|strong="G2249" do toward|strong="G1519" you|strong="G5209":
12 Que o Senhor vos faça crescer e avantajar na caridade mútua e para com todos os homens, como é o nosso amor para convosco.
13 To the end|strong="G1519" he may stablish|strong="G4741" your|strong="G5216" hearts|strong="G2588" unblameable|strong="G0273" in|strong="G1722" holiness|strong="G0042" before|strong="G1715" God|strong="G2316", even|strong="G2532" our|strong="G2257" Father|strong="G3962", at|strong="G1722" the coming|strong="G3952" of our|strong="G2257" Lord|strong="G2962" Jesus|strong="G2424" Christ|strong="G5547" with|strong="G3326" all|strong="G3956" his|strong="G0846" saints|strong="G0040".
13 Que ele confirme os vossos corações, e os torne irrepreensíveis e santos na presença de Deus, nosso Pai, por ocasião da vinda de nosso Senhor Jesus com todos os seus santos!
