1 And it came to pass, when Solomon|strong="H8010" had finished|strong="H3615" the building|strong="H1129" of the house|strong="H1004" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and the king’s|strong="H4428" house|strong="H1004", and all Solomon’s|strong="H8010" desire|strong="H2837" which he was pleased|strong="H2654" to do|strong="H6213",
2 That the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* appeared|strong="H7200" to Solomon|strong="H8010" the second time|strong="H8145", as he had appeared|strong="H7200" unto him at Gibeon|strong="H1391".
3 And the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* said|strong="H0559" unto him, I have heard|strong="H8085" thy prayer|strong="H8605" and thy supplication|strong="H8467", that thou hast made|strong="H2603" before|strong="H6440" me: I have hallowed|strong="H6942" this house|strong="H1004", which thou hast built|strong="H1129", to put|strong="H7760" my name|strong="H8034" there for|strong="H5704" ever|strong="H5769"; and mine eyes|strong="H5869" and mine heart|strong="H3820" shall be there perpetually|strong="H3117".
4 And if thou wilt walk|strong="H3212" before|strong="H6440" me, as David|strong="H1732" thy father|strong="H0001" walked|strong="H1980", in integrity|strong="H8537" of heart|strong="H3824", and in uprightness|strong="H3476", to do|strong="H6213" according to all that I have commanded|strong="H6680" thee, and wilt keep|strong="H8104" my statutes|strong="H2706" and my judgments|strong="H4941":
5 Then I will establish|strong="H6965" the throne|strong="H3678" of thy kingdom|strong="H4467" upon Israel|strong="H3478" for ever|strong="H5769", as I promised|strong="H1696" to David|strong="H1732" thy father|strong="H0001", saying|strong="H0559", There shall not fail|strong="H3772" thee a man|strong="H0376" upon the throne|strong="H3678" of Israel|strong="H3478".
6 But if ye shall at all|strong="H7725" turn|strong="H7725" from following|strong="H0310" me, ye or your children|strong="H1121", and will not keep|strong="H8104" my commandments|strong="H4687" and my statutes|strong="H2708" which I have set|strong="H5414" before|strong="H6440" you, but go|strong="H1980" and serve|strong="H5647" other|strong="H0312" gods|strong="H0430", and worship|strong="H7812" them:
7 Then will I cut off|strong="H3772" Israel|strong="H3478" out|strong="H6440" of the land|strong="H0127" which I have given|strong="H5414" them; and this house|strong="H1004", which I have hallowed|strong="H6942" for my name|strong="H8034", will I cast out|strong="H7971" of my sight|strong="H6440"; and Israel|strong="H3478" shall be a proverb|strong="H4912" and a byword|strong="H8148" among all people|strong="H5971":
8 And at this house|strong="H1004", which is high|strong="H5945", every one that passeth|strong="H5674" by it shall be astonished|strong="H8074", and shall hiss|strong="H8319"; and they shall say|strong="H0559", Why hath the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* done|strong="H6213" thus unto this land|strong="H0776", and to this house|strong="H1004"?
9 And they shall answer|strong="H0559", Because they forsook|strong="H5800" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* their God|strong="H0430", who brought forth|strong="H3318" their fathers|strong="H0001" out of the land|strong="H0776" of Egypt|strong="H4714", and have taken hold|strong="H2388" upon other|strong="H0312" gods|strong="H0430", and have worshipped|strong="H7812" them, and served|strong="H5647" them: therefore hath the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* brought|strong="H0935" upon them all this evil|strong="H7451".
10 And it came to pass at the end|strong="H7097" of twenty|strong="H6242" years|strong="H8141", when Solomon|strong="H8010" had built|strong="H1129" the two|strong="H8147" houses|strong="H1004", the house|strong="H1004" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and the king’s|strong="H4428" house|strong="H1004",
11 (Now Hiram|strong="H2438" the king|strong="H4428" of Tyre|strong="H6865" had furnished|strong="H5375" Solomon|strong="H8010" with cedar|strong="H0730" trees|strong="H6086" and fir|strong="H1265" trees|strong="H6086", and with gold|strong="H2091", according to all his desire|strong="H2656",) that then|strong="H0227" king|strong="H4428" Solomon|strong="H8010" gave|strong="H5414" Hiram|strong="H2438" twenty|strong="H6242" cities|strong="H5892" in the land|strong="H0776" of Galilee|strong="H1551".
12 And Hiram|strong="H2438" came out|strong="H3318" from Tyre|strong="H6865" to see|strong="H7200" the cities|strong="H5892" which Solomon|strong="H8010" had given|strong="H5414" him; and they pleased|strong="H3474" him not.
13 And he said|strong="H0559", What cities|strong="H5892" are these which thou hast given|strong="H5414" me, my brother|strong="H0251"? And he called|strong="H7121" them the land|strong="H0776" of Cabul|strong="H3521" unto this day|strong="H3117".
14 And Hiram|strong="H2438" sent|strong="H7971" to the king|strong="H4428" sixscore|strong="H3967" talents|strong="H3603" of gold|strong="H2091".
15 And this is the reason|strong="H1697" of the levy|strong="H4522" which king|strong="H4428" Solomon|strong="H8010" raised|strong="H5927"; for to build|strong="H1129" the house|strong="H1004" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and his own house|strong="H1004", and Millo|strong="H4407", and the wall|strong="H2346" of Jerusalem|strong="H3389", and Hazor|strong="H2674", and Megiddo|strong="H4023", and Gezer|strong="H1507".
16 For Pharaoh|strong="H6547" king|strong="H4428" of Egypt|strong="H4714" had gone up|strong="H5927", and taken|strong="H3920" Gezer|strong="H1507", and burnt|strong="H8313" it with fire|strong="H0784", and slain|strong="H2026" the Canaanites|strong="H3669" that dwelt|strong="H3427" in the city|strong="H5892", and given|strong="H5414" it for a present|strong="H7964" unto his daughter|strong="H1323", Solomon’s|strong="H8010" wife|strong="H0802".
17 And Solomon|strong="H8010" built|strong="H1129" Gezer|strong="H1507", and Beth-horon|strong="H1032" the nether|strong="H8481",
18 And Baalath|strong="H1191", and Tadmor|strong="H8412" in the wilderness|strong="H4057", in the land|strong="H0776",
19 And all the cities|strong="H5892" of store|strong="H4543" that Solomon|strong="H8010" had, and cities|strong="H5892" for his chariots|strong="H7393", and cities|strong="H5892" for his horsemen|strong="H6571", and that|strong="H2837" which Solomon|strong="H8010" desired|strong="H2836" to build|strong="H1129" in Jerusalem|strong="H3389", and in Lebanon|strong="H3844", and in all the land|strong="H0776" of his dominion|strong="H4475".
20 And all the people|strong="H5971" that were left|strong="H3498" of the Amorites|strong="H0567", Hittites|strong="H2850", Perizzites|strong="H6522", Hivites|strong="H2340", and Jebusites|strong="H2983", which were not of the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478",
21 Their children|strong="H1121" that were left|strong="H3498" after|strong="H0310" them in the land|strong="H0776", whom the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478" also were not able|strong="H3201" utterly to destroy|strong="H2763", upon those did Solomon|strong="H8010" levy|strong="H5927" a tribute|strong="H4522" of bondservice|strong="H5647" unto this day|strong="H3117".
22 But of the children|strong="H1121" of Israel|strong="H3478" did Solomon|strong="H8010" make|strong="H5414" no bondmen|strong="H5650": but they were men|strong="H0582" of war|strong="H4421", and his servants|strong="H5650", and his princes|strong="H8269", and his captains|strong="H7991", and rulers|strong="H8269" of his chariots|strong="H7393", and his horsemen|strong="H6571".
23 These were the chief|strong="H8269" of the officers|strong="H5324" that were over Solomon’s|strong="H8010" work|strong="H4399", five|strong="H2568" hundred|strong="H3967" and fifty|strong="H2572", which bare rule|strong="H7287" over the people|strong="H5971" that wrought|strong="H6213" in the work|strong="H4399".
24 But Pharaoh’s|strong="H6547" daughter|strong="H1323" came up|strong="H5927" out of the city|strong="H5892" of David|strong="H1732" unto her house|strong="H1004" which Solomon had built|strong="H1129" for her: then did he build|strong="H1129" Millo|strong="H4407".
25 And three|strong="H7969" times|strong="H6471" in a year|strong="H8141" did Solomon|strong="H8010" offer|strong="H5927" burnt offerings|strong="H5930" and peace offerings|strong="H8002" upon the altar|strong="H4196" which he built|strong="H1129" unto the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, and he burnt incense|strong="H6999" upon the altar|strong="H4196" that was before|strong="H6440" the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*. So he finished|strong="H7999" the house|strong="H1004".
26 And king|strong="H4428" Solomon|strong="H8010" made|strong="H6213" a navy of ships|strong="H0590" in Ezion-geber|strong="H6100", which is beside Eloth|strong="H0359", on the shore|strong="H8193" of the Red|strong="H5488" sea|strong="H3220", in the land|strong="H0776" of Edom|strong="H0123".
27 And Hiram|strong="H2438" sent|strong="H7971" in the navy|strong="H0590" his servants|strong="H5650", shipmen|strong="H0582" that had knowledge|strong="H3045" of the sea|strong="H3220", with the servants|strong="H5650" of Solomon|strong="H8010".
28 And they came|strong="H0935" to Ophir|strong="H0211", and fetched|strong="H3947" from thence gold|strong="H2091", four|strong="H0702" hundred|strong="H3967" and twenty|strong="H6242" talents|strong="H3603", and brought|strong="H0935" it to king|strong="H4428" Solomon|strong="H8010".
