2 Then David|strong="H1732" said|strong="H0559", None ought to carry|strong="H5375" the ark|strong="H0727" of God|strong="H0430" but the Levites|strong="H3881": for them hath the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* chosen|strong="H0977" to carry|strong="H5375" the ark|strong="H0727" of God|strong="H0430", and to minister|strong="H8334" unto him for|strong="H5704" ever|strong="H5769".
3 And David|strong="H1732" gathered|strong="H6950" all Israel|strong="H3478" together|strong="H6950" to Jerusalem|strong="H3389", to bring up|strong="H5927" the ark|strong="H0727" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* unto his place|strong="H4725", which he had prepared|strong="H3559" for it.
4 And David|strong="H1732" assembled|strong="H0622" the children|strong="H1121" of Aaron|strong="H0175", and the Levites|strong="H3881":
5 Of the sons|strong="H1121" of Kohath|strong="H6955"; Uriel|strong="H0222" the chief|strong="H8269", and his brethren|strong="H0251" an hundred|strong="H3967" and twenty|strong="H6242":
6 Of the sons|strong="H1121" of Merari|strong="H4847"; Asaiah|strong="H6222" the chief|strong="H8269", and his brethren|strong="H0251" two hundred|strong="H3967" and twenty|strong="H6242":
7 Of the sons|strong="H1121" of Gershom|strong="H1647"; Joel|strong="H3100" the chief|strong="H8269", and his brethren|strong="H0251" an hundred|strong="H3967" and thirty|strong="H7970":
8 Of the sons|strong="H1121" of Elizaphan|strong="H0469"; Shemaiah|strong="H8098" the chief|strong="H8269", and his brethren|strong="H0251" two hundred|strong="H3967":
9 Of the sons|strong="H1121" of Hebron|strong="H2275"; Eliel|strong="H0447" the chief|strong="H8269", and his brethren|strong="H0251" fourscore|strong="H8084":
10 Of the sons|strong="H1121" of Uzziel|strong="H5816"; Amminadab|strong="H5992" the chief|strong="H8269", and his brethren|strong="H0251" an hundred|strong="H3967" and twelve|strong="H8147".
11 And David|strong="H1732" called|strong="H7121" for Zadok|strong="H6659" and Abiathar|strong="H0054" the priests|strong="H3548", and for the Levites|strong="H3881", for Uriel|strong="H0222", Asaiah|strong="H6222", and Joel|strong="H3100", Shemaiah|strong="H8098", and Eliel|strong="H0447", and Amminadab|strong="H5992",
12 And said|strong="H0559" unto them, Ye are the chief|strong="H7218" of the fathers|strong="H0001" of the Levites|strong="H3881": sanctify|strong="H6942" yourselves, both ye and your brethren|strong="H0251", that ye may bring up|strong="H5927" the ark|strong="H0727" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* God|strong="H0430" of Israel|strong="H3478" unto the place that I have prepared|strong="H3559" for it.
13 For because ye did it not at the first|strong="H7223", the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* our God|strong="H0430" made a breach|strong="H6555" upon us, for that we sought|strong="H1875" him not after the due order|strong="H4941".
14 So the priests|strong="H3548" and the Levites|strong="H3881" sanctified|strong="H6942" themselves to bring up|strong="H5927" the ark|strong="H0727" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* God|strong="H0430" of Israel|strong="H3478".
15 And the children|strong="H1121" of the Levites|strong="H3881" bare|strong="H5375" the ark|strong="H0727" of God|strong="H0430" upon their shoulders|strong="H3802" with the staves|strong="H4133" thereon, as Moses|strong="H4872" commanded|strong="H6680" according to the word|strong="H1697" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*.
16 And David|strong="H1732" spake|strong="H0559" to the chief|strong="H8269" of the Levites|strong="H3881" to appoint|strong="H5975" their brethren|strong="H0251" to be the singers|strong="H7891" with instruments|strong="H3627" of musick|strong="H7892", psalteries|strong="H5035" and harps|strong="H3658" and cymbals|strong="H4700", sounding|strong="H8085", by lifting up|strong="H7311" the voice|strong="H6963" with joy|strong="H8057".
17 So the Levites|strong="H3881" appointed|strong="H5975" Heman|strong="H1968" the son|strong="H1121" of Joel|strong="H3100"; and of his brethren|strong="H0251", Asaph|strong="H0623" the son|strong="H1121" of Berechiah|strong="H1296"; and of the sons|strong="H1121" of Merari|strong="H4847" their brethren|strong="H0251", Ethan|strong="H0387" the son|strong="H1121" of Kushaiah|strong="H6984";
18 And with them their brethren|strong="H0251" of the second|strong="H4932" degree, Zechariah|strong="H2148", Ben|strong="H1122", and Jaaziel|strong="H3268", and Shemiramoth|strong="H8070", and Jehiel|strong="H3171", and Unni|strong="H6042", Eliab|strong="H0446", and Benaiah|strong="H1141", and Maaseiah|strong="H4641", and Mattithiah|strong="H4993", and Elipheleh|strong="H0466", and Mikneiah|strong="H4737", and Obed-edom|strong="H5654", and Jeiel|strong="H3273", the porters|strong="H7778".
19 So the singers|strong="H7891", Heman|strong="H1968", Asaph|strong="H0623", and Ethan|strong="H0387", were appointed to sound|strong="H8085" with cymbals|strong="H4700" of brass|strong="H5178";
20 And Zechariah|strong="H2148", and Aziel|strong="H5815", and Shemiramoth|strong="H8070", and Jehiel|strong="H3171", and Unni|strong="H6042", and Eliab|strong="H0446", and Maaseiah|strong="H4641", and Benaiah|strong="H1141", with psalteries|strong="H5035" on Alamoth|strong="H5961";
21 And Mattithiah|strong="H4993", and Elipheleh|strong="H0466", and Mikneiah|strong="H4737", and Obed-edom|strong="H5654", and Jeiel|strong="H3273", and Azaziah|strong="H5812", with harps|strong="H3658" on the Sheminith|strong="H8067" to excel|strong="H5329".
22 And Chenaniah|strong="H3663", chief|strong="H8269" of the Levites|strong="H3881", was for song|strong="H4853": he instructed|strong="H3256" about the song|strong="H4853", because he was skilful|strong="H0995".
23 And Berechiah|strong="H1296" and Elkanah|strong="H0511" were doorkeepers|strong="H7778" for the ark|strong="H0727".
24 And Shebaniah|strong="H7645", and Jehoshaphat|strong="H3146", and Nethaneel|strong="H5417", and Amasai|strong="H6022", and Zechariah|strong="H2148", and Benaiah|strong="H1141", and Eliezer|strong="H0461", the priests|strong="H3548", did blow|strong="H2690" with the trumpets|strong="H2689" before|strong="H6440" the ark|strong="H0727" of God|strong="H0430": and Obed-edom|strong="H5654" and Jehiah|strong="H3174" were doorkeepers|strong="H7778" for the ark|strong="H0727".
25 So David|strong="H1732", and the elders|strong="H2205" of Israel|strong="H3478", and the captains|strong="H8269" over thousands|strong="H0505", went|strong="H1980" to bring up|strong="H5927" the ark|strong="H0727" of the covenant|strong="H1285" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* out of the house|strong="H1004" of Obed-edom|strong="H5654" with joy|strong="H8057".
26 And it came to pass, when God|strong="H0430" helped|strong="H5826" the Levites|strong="H3881" that bare|strong="H5375" the ark|strong="H0727" of the covenant|strong="H1285" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w*, that they offered|strong="H2076" seven|strong="H7651" bullocks|strong="H6499" and seven|strong="H7651" rams|strong="H0352".
27 And David|strong="H1732" was clothed|strong="H3736" with a robe|strong="H4598" of fine linen|strong="H0948", and all the Levites|strong="H3881" that bare|strong="H5375" the ark|strong="H0727", and the singers|strong="H7891", and Chenaniah|strong="H3663" the master|strong="H8269" of the song|strong="H4853" with the singers|strong="H7891": David|strong="H1732" also had upon him an ephod|strong="H0646" of linen|strong="H0906".
28 Thus all Israel|strong="H3478" brought up|strong="H5927" the ark|strong="H0727" of the covenant|strong="H1285" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* with shouting|strong="H8643", and with sound|strong="H6963" of the cornet|strong="H7782", and with trumpets|strong="H2689", and with cymbals|strong="H4700", making a noise|strong="H8085" with psalteries|strong="H5035" and harps|strong="H3658".
29 And it came to pass, as the ark|strong="H0727" of the covenant|strong="H1285" of the \+w LORD|strong="H3068"\+w* came|strong="H0935" to the city|strong="H5892" of David|strong="H1732", that Michal|strong="H4324" the daughter|strong="H1323" of Saul|strong="H7586" looking out|strong="H8259" at a window|strong="H2474" saw|strong="H7200" king|strong="H4428" David|strong="H1732" dancing|strong="H7540" and playing|strong="H7832": and she despised|strong="H0959" him in her heart|strong="H3820".
